A restless night had been spent, Alysanne abandoning her usual sleeping spot to wander around the Edge - unofficially patrolling as she worked through the thoughts in her mind. The Moon Goddess’s quest and rumoured presence hung over her, she knew now she would not be able to complete it. How could she cause harm to another? How could she refuse to heal anyone? It went against everything. But facing the goddess again was daunting! Turning up a failure seemed like a terrible idea.

And there were other things to consider - Miykael had disappeared again, leaving Alysanne free to relax and contemplate over their situation. It wasn’t ideal - her relief at his absence meant made her feel guilt, such guilt! Should love be that way? Lies and devotion when they’re around, comfort and ease when they are not?

Another matter had been bothering her lately as well, and she waited until the sky began to lighten up before taking the steps to solve at least one of her problems today. It was far overdue. Unwilling to call out lest she draw attention from others, Alysanne turned to her companion and asked for his help in finding their king. Or, well, one of them. She had considered seeking out Archibald - their lack of any personal history might make this a little bit easier, but in the end she did not alter her original plan.

“Help me find him, Hemlock?” She shared a reminder of what Kaj looked like through their bond - the little owl hadn’t had much interaction with the golden king - and he hooted his understanding before flying off, scouting the pre-dawn Edge. The heat of the day had not yet arrived, the cool breeze from the ocean whispering through the woods as the sun pinkened the horizon. “Don’t bother him if he’s asleep, my love!”. She added as an afterthought. This wasn’t an urgent matter, after all. She wasn’t leaving or anything, she simply had to make a change.

For her part, she continued to patrol and wander the forest of the Edge - keeping those bright green eyes peeled for the kindly king. Despite her so-called-relaxed state, she moved without the grace and cheerful deposition she had been prone to for most of her life. Too much weighed on her now to prance and laugh her way through these woods when not for the benefit of her make-shift family.
