Her shoulder slammed into the stallion's flank and she was unsure if it was her momentum that made Talion spin the way he did or if it was his own doing, but the movement negated Eytan's attempt to trip him and send him to the ground. Through their bond she could feel a mixture of frustration and relief come from the bear, if only because he knew his bonded. In her current state of mind he was sure that should Talion have fallen she would have tried to smash her hooves into his ribcage, neck, head, legs, whatever she could get at. The Constrcitor threw her body forward, which carried her away from Talion and out of range for the bite that he intended to land to her rump. Her movement carried her in a wide enough circle that she could eye the stallion she had chosen as her opponent. He was taller, slightly, and their builds were similar which led her to believe that they would be evenly matched and that their battle might even be exciting. The only thing she truly found disappointment in was the lack of scars on his pristine coat.

Dark ears lay flat against her head at the sudden sound of lightening and the darkening of the sky. Magic was already in play but magic alone would not save the Hidden Falls from falling. "Tricks will not save you!" She called out. "Call on every storm, make it as dark as you wish but I will find you." She did not have to rely on her eyes to pummel Talion, not when she had other senses that she could rely on.

"Eytan." She called out to her companion through their bond. "Be ready. We will attack as one."

'Right.' Came the bear's response. 'Ready when you are.'

As soon as Eytan told her that he was ready, Ktulu began to concentrate on her magic, sending dark tendrils of it toward Talion. "Suffocate." She thought bitterly as she attempted to wrench the simple ability to breathe from the stallion's grasp. "Now, Eytan." She urged her companion. It started as a low rumble in his chest and soon escalated to a roar that ripped its way past his maw and seemed to split the air around them. His ability to terrorize his opponents was one that Ktulu appreciated and attempted to capitalize on whenever possible.

Fear was so very powerful, especially when coupled with the inability to breathe. Panic often set in when the victim realized that, not only were they seeing the very things that scared them most, but they couldn't breathe. She had to move quickly, however, because if Eytan's ability took affect it would not last as long as she might want it to. Still, keeping as tight a rein on her own magic as possible, Ktulu charged Talion from his left. This time, however, she was not intent on ramming her shoulder into the stallion, but bloodying her horn by burying it to the hilt in his side, or chest if he decided to turn and face her like a man.

:: [Restrictions | Causes quick strangling in a fighting opponent, as their body is readily using the oxygen. Cannot actually strangle an opponent and would rarely cause unconsciousness, but makes an opponent begin to lose their eyesight and dulls other senses. - Terrorize: another by knowing one of their fears and creating an illusion of that for 30 seconds.

SUMMARY:
Ktulu continues moving after her initial ram, so Talion's bite misses. She circles around and readies Eytan for their combined attack. She uses her dark magic to try and cut off Talion's oxygen supply while Eytan uses his Terrorize ability to show Talion whatever his worst fears are. Ktulu then charges and attempts to drive her horn into Talion's left side (or chest if he turns toward her).

Once more into the fray
Jaws clamped together with an audible tap of disappointment by the lack of substance between them, as the dark mare’s rump shied away from Talion’s range, leaving but a spur of dust behind her fleeing hooves. The escapade; though unsuccessful of causing any damage, bought him enough time as he came to a slightly uncomfortable halt by the doing of his growing bruise on his buttock. He stole a glance to his left to plan for an escape route, but it did not take him more than mere seconds to understand that an attempt would be futile. The constant dance of clashing bodies made a fluid wall; one gap closing to make room for another further down the line. The chances of being caught in the crossfire were more than an expectation.

Then day soaked into midnight, before a shattering sound thrust Talion into battle once more. He jerked in a tremor of surprise as a searing pain planted itself in his upper neck, his position twisted to the left and up. His neck twitched with an inciting ache as if something was stuck in the flesh. However, the sight of movement towards the stallion left him no time to wallow. The bitch had come back for more, this time with reinforcements.

Ears slick against his neck, Talion was ready to charge at the peculiar duo, but suddenly movement was not an option to choose. He squirmed and squiggled, fear rising in his chest with every step the mare took towards him, lance pointed at his chest as if to impale him upon her horn. He was trapped, entombed. If Talion had never had a near death experience before, he was surely having one now. His blood froze solid in his veins, with the exception of a trickle of warmth making its way down the fur of his neck. He was going to die, he was going to die for this, for them. People he did not even know, who had given him nothing, but a nice tomb and a valiant death. He shoved and heaved, pushed and lunged at the invisible barriers of his enclosed grave; too proud to plead for the continuance of his life, too scared to hand it over to the grasp of death.

“No, no, NO, NO, NO!” With a final outburst worth all the air in his lungs, the barriers seemed to lessen in strength. He heaved his weight onto his hindquarters in a half-rear, which brought the front of his body to the left to avoid her fatal impalement. It was not enough. Her horn caught the flesh of Talion’s left flank, piercing his skin all the way to the upper part of his buttock. The pain was excruciating, describable with only sound. A brutal roar escaped the low quarters of his throat, through the mask of pain printed on his features. A flailing kick was thrown out from his hind legs in such a force that one would half expect that the rest of his body would follow. At best, her legs would be at the receiving end.

With clenched teeth he spun around after the dark cunt, which tore at the asymmetrical wound, releasing a trickle of blood where it had pierced through all layers of skin, exposing the flesh beneath. His mind screamed for him to give in, begged that the pain was not worth his pride. Though deep beneath the layers of pain and agonizing discomfort, past the cowardice and beyond the diminishing courage, he found a small reserve of anger. There he dug his trenches.

He flew after her, mouth open, in a fitful rage. This time he wanted to taste her flesh and there would be no escape.

- Eytan's terrorize ability sets in which gives Talion the illusion that he's trapped in an enclosed space, nearly unable to move as Ktulu and Eytan charge towards him.

- He manages to put himself into a left-bent half-rear with his upper body when the terrorize ability stops, so that her horn gives him a asymmetrical wound from his flank to his upper buttock. The wound varies in depth.

- He flail kicks after her before wheeling around and sets after Ktulu to bite her.

Ktulu

ideas are the bombs in your mind, a fissure in time

Ktulu was already charging by the time she realized that her choking magic had not taken its desired effect on Talion. Whatever the reason for it was, she was unsure, but she knew that she could not waste Eytan's ability just because her own magic had not taken hold. After the fight, after she'd completely destroyed the stallion that she had chosen, she would ponder over what had happened. The mare continued her charge, her hooves digging into the ground with each step that she took, her amulet tapping rythmically against her chest. Unbeknownst to her, her own magic was richocheting back at her from Talion's amulet that she had not taken notice of, but even if she had she would not have known what the purpose of it was for. She was still unsure of what her own amulet's power was, only that it was an amulet.

Her step faltered at the sound of something shattering and a pinprick of pain in her chest. She didn't know what it was, but she was positive that it was something Talion had done. Luckily for him, the falter in her step allowed him enough time to regroup and lift himself so that her horn did not strike its intended target and spill the amount of blood that she desired. Rather than bury her horn in his chest she was left with the tip of it piercing his flank and skimming along his buttock. It was infuriating to the Constrictor because her horn was not meant for slicing flesh, so it jerked her neck, strained muscles, and slowed her down even more. Why couldn't the son of a bitch just make it easy on himself and stand still so she could kill him without a struggle?

Had her horn been made differently, given a sharp, fine edge that would have allowed her to keep running after slicing through flesh and into muscle she would have been well out of range of his kick. Instead, her horn was made for impaling, piercing through flesh and muscle and into organs, because of this she had to turn as she moved which brought her path well into range for his kick. Sharp pain made her suck in a breath as his hoof connected with the upper part of her left leg, just shy of her muscled shoulder. "YOU SON OF A BITCH!" She screamed as she staggered away from Talion to put herself out of range of another kick. Her legs. Her fucking legs. She'd spent her entire childhood crippled because of her legs and the bastard was going to try to send her right back to where she had been. She would die before she lived her life as a cripple. "I will fucking end you." She promised.

'MOVE!' Eytan shouted through their bond as he raced toward his soul mate. Ktulu turned and began to move, limping on the leg that had taken the blow from Talion's kick. 'FASTER! HE'S BEHIND YOU!' The grizzly roared and chased after the stallion with the goal of using his claws to slash at his legs. Maybe he could sever a tendon and leave the stallion lame and useless as most of the Falls were. Her slower pace allowed for Talion's teeth to hit their mark on her rump. Instinct drove Ktulu to buck in an attempt to send her hind legs flying at Talion's face, but her left leg protested the added weight and she was left throwing a rather pitiful kick at Talion. "Fucker..." She hissed under her breath. 'SUCK IT UP! MOVE FASTER! FASTER! GO! GO!' Ktulu was not used to being yelled at by her companion but she held onto his voice and allowed him to pull her out of the downward spiral her injured leg put her in. He was her life vest and she was holding on for her life.

As she finally came back to the right frame of mind, Ktulu knew that she could not keep running from Talion. She was no coward. She did not run from a fight. So she slowed and turned in a tight circle so she was facing the stallion and she began another charge, though this one was slower. More magic bubbled to the surface as she charged and her body began to change its shape. Hooves turned to sharply clawed paws, her flat teeth turned to fangs, her sleek black coat grew out and faded. When everything was complete Talion was left with a bear charging at him, fangs bared and ready to snap down on his neck, and claws ready to flay his flesh away from his bones and leave him broken. Before it was over she would taste his blood.

:: [Magic: DarkxEarth | able to transform into a bear]

:: [Restrictions | bear form is approximately her same size and one attack as a bear counts as one use]

SUMMARY:
Ktulu's amulet shatters and reflects her magic back at Talion. The force of it shattering makes her step falter and slows her attack. Her neck is strained from the injury she inflicts on Talion. She comes around behind him and takes his kick to the upper part of her left leg, which unsettles her. Eytan screams at her to run so she turns and runs, takes Talion's bite to her rump. She tries to buck but the weight on her leg further strains/injures it. Ktulu then turns and uses her shape shifting magic to change into a bear as she charges Talion head on. She is prepared to bite down on his neck (or whatever she can get) and use her claws against him.

Once more into the fray

The flame of short-lived satisfaction and rising valor as Talion’s hooves connected with Ktulu’s hard tissue, was quenched so quickly it was as if it had never been brought into existence. As he wheeled around to appease the beast within, to lay it at rest with pools of his opponent’s blood, it was as if a drawstring was tightened round his throat. Rising panic welled within him, slowing him down in his chase. He tried to suck breath, to force what was in his lungs out, but it was like breathing through a straw; nothing came through, except a few wheezing breaths to keep him from faltering. She had given him a noose and asked him to jump, but he would take her with him. He had walked in the twilight zone of good and evil all his life, without a preposition to either one. Though had he seen himself right at this very moment, he may have taken that noose and bid his farewells. Tapping into repressed reservoirs of anger, into buried memories and ripping at wounds of time makes someone lose their sense of being, and leaves them with permanent marks.

Now had it not been for the flaming anger of his run-in with death, he might have felt more than the ache in his lungs and taste of iron in his mouth, and understood that something was not as it should be. He might have felt more than the throbbing in his left side and neck, and perhaps he would have whimpered as his wounds extended and retracted by the motions of his muscles, or winced at the force of Ktulu’s furious shouts. However, anger is all-consuming and pain alone is not enough to put it out. On the contrary, dear viewer, for Ktulu was fighting a forest fire with a can of kerosene.

The mare’s smaller companion became an annoyance as he jabbed his paws at Talion’s legs, making him buck mid-flight to try to kick the ebony mare’s companion out of action. Nothing was to stand between him and his clutching grip at life; he would end the little bear if it meant he could continue. His teeth connected with Ktulu’s buttock, which brought him to a near halt as he spat and spluttered strands of dark hair, tossing his head upwards to avoid her weak attempt of a kick, before she scampered off. A ripple of nagging pain coursed through his nerves as the splinters moved within his fragmented wound on his left neck, a grimace of pain visible in his eyes as a groan of discomfort left his lips. “I will end you, I will crush everything you hold dear. Mark my words!” His threat was anything, but empty.

Heaven’s sluices opened above them as if the Gods cried at the sight of evil riddling the battleground. The green field was ripped by the constant dance of battle, scarring the ground below to reveal the brown flesh of the Hidden Falls. Eventually, it would become a fading monument of the actions taken today, a monument of betrayal and treachery.

His words seemed to trigger something in the mare, and perhaps it made her realize that if she were to live a life without constant vigilance she would have to finish him first. As she made a sharp turn towards him, her hair seemed to ripple with brown. The crack of bones as they adjusted into her new form was only heard because of the dim light of midnight. It made his skin crawl in the worst of ways. Legs shortened to paws and hooves lengthened into claws, and to begin with, all Talion managed to do was to hold an uneasy stand as he watched the incredulous happen. However, rage makes a man reckless. He dived towards the bear figure with teeth bared and aiming for the right crease of her shoulder, which would otherwise be her withers. It was an attempt to try to pin her down and slam his knees into her right side. It was an opportunity kept intact as she seemed to keep the same height, being approximately the same size as him. Prey becoming predator, a rarity of nature.

However, before Talion could come that far a paw jabbed at his right neck, a claw mark left in its place from his withers towards his shoulder. It was not as deep as the heating and throbbing wound on his left side, but it hurt nonetheless. He jerked his neck left at the impact before going for his intended attack on her right, the muscle of his right neck sore as if he had pulled a muscle. Talion might have the instinct to recognize trouble, but the wit of avoiding it had left him entirely.

- The choking magic is delayed shortly because it bounces back and forth, but then chokes him for a short moment. Because of the severity and the suddenty Talion bursts a few alveolis in his lungs as a result. He will feel a small ache in his chest immediately, but later on he will become short of breath because the surface of gas exchange is smaller so smaller amounts of oxygen is transported into his blood, and smaller amounts of carbon dioxide is transported out.

- Eytan tries to claw at his legs, but misses as Talion is in motion. Talion tries to put him out of action by bucking mid-air and hoping his hooves will hit Eytan.
- His bite is successful and lands on Ktulu’s buttock and he halts as she tries to kick at him.
- Ktulu turns and charges at him in bear form, he charges back to try and get on her right side and clasp her by the right shoulder, or the wither from her right side in case she turns back to a horse. Will try to hold her down by the withers and slam her with his knees. Takes a claw wound to the right side of nis neck in the process.

if you don't have a weapon you can't have mine

It was no surprise to Ktulu that her attempted kick at Talion was for naught because she could not put the weight on her foreleg that she needed to be able to put the strength into her kick. She wished, however, that she could because nothing would have been more satisfying at that moment, when he spat her hair out, than to loosen a few of his teeth. As her hind hooves hit the ground again stumbled, but forced herself to keep moving even though she no longer heard the sound of his hooves behind her. "Eytan? Are you okay?" Ktulu prodded at her companion, who had fallen silent after repeatedly shouting at her to move. 'Okay. Tried kick me but miss.' "Stay out of the way." She instructed the bear, deciding that she would rather take the stallion on without his help than risk him taking a kick that would debilitate or even kill him. She'd already lost a large chunk of her heart with her son's death, she could not live through losing part of her soul if Eytan fell in battle.

"I will end you, I will crush everything you hold dear. Mark my words!”

Talion's threats of violence, of ending her and crushing everything she held dear only fueled the fire in Ktulu's heart. If he was going to hurt the ones that she had left then she would have to kill him to keep him from doing so. The choice was simple and easy for her to make. To protect everything and everyone she loved and held dear she would confront and eliminate anyone and anything that posed a threat. Perhaps Talion felt the same way, but if that were the case it would come down to who had more passion and more drive. She would be willing to fight to the death, to sacrifice her body, mind, and spirit for her family. Would he?

The change her body went through as it shifted into that of a bear was always painful to an extent as certain bones lengthened and others shortened. This, however, she viewed as a necessary evil to be able to use the gift that the ancient bear had bestowed upon her at his death. In that form she felt connected to him, felt as though his strength and power coursed through her veins and if she could use it she was confident that she would be the one walking away the victor, that she would use Talion's blood to water grass in the Hidden Falls.

Their bodies clashed and her claws slashed the right side of his body stretching from his withers toward his shoulder. Honestly, she would have loved to have slashed his jugular and bled him like a pig, but at least she'd hit him. It was more than she could say for Talion and his failed attempt at grabbing onto her and slamming his knees into her. She slipped past him easily enough, her body shifting back into its normal form. "How can you end what you can't even hit?" She taunted as she pivoted to the right, her horn aimed and ready to spill more of his blood. She was counting on the rage that had built within him over the course of their fight to make him throw his well being and sense of self preservation to the wind and engage her in one final attack.

Once more into the fray

Frustration hissed in his throat when Ktulu avoided his bared teeth, leaving as an exasperating growl as she flew by. He had shifted some of his weight onto his back legs as he lunged for her shoulder in order to be able to slam into her, but as her frame left the vicinity of his intended attack, his hooves slammed into the ground to take the sudden fall. The force behind it had been intended to knock Ktulu off balance, and the collection of unabsorbed energy jarred through his front legs. The mud that had begun to form beneath them redirected some of it; however, it was not the only feeling of electricity running through his body.

Masked by his own attack, a small ball of sizzling light had struck him on his right shoulder, all muscles stiffening at the same time as a pulsation of discomfort and unfamiliarity went through his body. Even though the pulsation itself was nothing more than uncomfortable, the feeling of melted skin was far worse. The soreness of it made it feel like a larger burn mark, but in the end, it all acted as a distraction to the point where just a flurry of white and a snickering remark warned him of her next attack, and her horn was in him.

The few seconds that were spent of what seemed like a diminishing amount of future, were the longest seconds he would ever live through. The roars of the battlefield appeared almost distant in sound as his ears whizzed in tact with his increasing heartbeat, his intake of breath seemingly never drawing to an end. His vision blurred with mesmerizing pain, and for the first time since he was a young colt in need of consolidation, did tears press against the corners of his eyes. The pain, the agony threatened to overwhelm him as Talion hunched himself on his hindquarters to break free from Ktulu’s horn. His hooves pivoted through the air, threatening to crush her head if she stayed inside their range, blood splattering whatever was beneath him, ground or horse, none of it mattered. The sound of torment howled through the battlefield, ferocious in volume, but it carried a far more somber message.

“Stop, stop.” The fire within him had run its course; a man can only take so much torment before it breaks him. “Leave me be. This is pointless, madness.” The force of his words, even through gritted teeth and clenched jaws, was enough to make anyone cringe at the impact. "I did not sign up for this, leave me be!" He had not spat death in the eye to not live another day, he had not sacrificed himself to not be victorious in his aim for survival, to squander it by the hand of recklessness. The Impaler could have her victory if it was so precious to her. He could live without his pride.

Adrenaline; the core of anger’s fuel, washed away slowly, devoured by his rapid heartbeat, leaving a tidal wave of hurt which he had not felt the total impact of before. His body ached from the physical strain that he had put upon it, his lungs aching and burning from the stress of maintaining his oxygen supply, even under impairment unknown to Talion. His body was cool to the touch despite the nearly constant movement they had maintained, an early symptom of the deprivation of blood his body was unable to keep up with. Every wound on his body, every scratch, stung and itched as a greasy mix of rain, sweat, grease and dirt washed over them, and he wanted nothing more than to crawl out of his own skin to avoid every sensation. Nevertheless, the worst part was not the wounds or the perpetual pain that came with them. Nor was it the increasingly niggling feeling of weariness, fatigue and lethargy, as if his body was about to give up defending itself from another attack.

The worst part was the fear he had felt of being too close to the edge.

Ktulu
the Constrictor
ideas are the bombs in your mind, a fissure in time
if you don't have a weapon you can't have mine

There was a sick sense of satisfaction that made a shiver of absolute delight ripple through Ktulu's body as she felt her horn pierce Talion's flesh and slide into muscle. The delight at landing another blow to the black stallion overshadowed the fact that her horn had not penetrated exactly where she had wanted it to. Ideally the bloody tip of her horn would have pierced his heart and ended him right there on the battlefield. Whatever the stallion lacked in skill he made up for in luck and was able to keep himself from taking a blow that would result in his death. She felt no remorse in the agony that she inflicted on the younger stallion. Every ounce of pain and anger that had built within her since her son's death was unleashed in the most destructive of ways and if left her craving more. It strengthened the desire to kill, as if taking a life would bring her child back.

Ktulu's horn slid free of Talion's body as he hunched back onto his hindquarters. It appeared, at first, as if he were cringing, shrinking back, scared, and for a split second she considered stabbing him again. 'No...' She could hear Eytan's soft voice through their bond. 'Don't.' The dark mare snorted and gathered her strength in her hindquarters then lurched away from Talion and his hooves that had been meant for her head. He was speaking then and her ears tilted forward as she turned to look at him. Stop? Did anyone just stop mid battle? It was completely unheard of and she was unsure of what she should do because she suspected that it was a ploy on his end; one to take her off her guard so he could attack and incapacitate her when she wasn't expecting it.

"I did not sign up for this, leave me be!"

"No one does." She finally replied, her stance shifting so she could keep as much weight off of her injured leg as possible. "Its part of being in a herd; one for all. If you're not ready to sacrifice yourself for your herd then you've already lost this battle!" She was irritated, itching to continue their fight but was held back by her companion. 'He's a kid.' Eytan rumbled as he moved to stand next to his bonded. His caramel eyes swept over the injured, bleeding, suffering young stallion and the bear felt pity for him and that pity transferred through the bond he shared with Ktulu, quelled her bloodlust, and brought her back to her senses.

"Fine." The Constrictor agreed, her voice hard to hide the fact that she might have felt a bit bad about trying to kill the stallion for no other reason than her own emotional instability. "We're done here. If you want to take your leave then do so." He would be smart to go straight to a healer to have his wounds looked at, but something told her that he would move as fast as he could away from the battle. "You should see a healer as soon as possible." She advised as she looked to the wounds she'd inflicted.

By my verdict: KTULU is the winner!

KTULU
Realism [+1.5]
Overall strong realism with attacks, defenses, timing, and injury. You mentioned some breed and stat differences as well as weather, particularly in your first post, but never really utilized them in any way. I really enjoyed you being injured by your own horn attack in your second post, it’s something I’ve always felt most unicorn writers fail to include! You did take a bit too much damage in your second post, it equaled more of a 6 than a 4 roll. I wanted to see more description of your amulet being used within the post - I only knew for sure because of the inclusion in the OOC notes. In your third post you miss his attack, but don’t really say how/why. You also don’t actually seem to attack in your third post, meaning dice shouldn’t really have been rolled. I know you were trying to taunt him, but include something like “If the taunting failed, she was ready to charge at him…” to just give yourself that back up.

Emotion [+2.5]
Really strong emotion in every post. I always felt I understood what the character was thinking, feeling, and why. Lovely job!

Post 2:
“Her legs. Her fucking legs. She'd spent her entire childhood crippled because of her legs and the bastard was going to try to send her right back to where she had been. She would die before she lived her life as a cripple.”
“Maybe he could sever a tendon and leave the stallion lame and useless as most of the Falls were.”

Prose [+3.5]
Beautifully well written with excellent flow and vocabulary all throughout the fight.

Readability [+2.5]
Very readable for the whole duration of the fight. Excellent grammar, spelling, and directional cues for positioning. Thank you for including descriptions/restrictions of magic when used in a post!

Post 3:
“...the ground again stumbled….” (+she?)

Finally tally: 56+(10*2)= 76 HP

TALION
Realism [-1]
Overall I think you have good potential for realism, but your descriptions always fall a bit short making it hard to bridge some gaps. For instance, in your first post you say you dodge to the left, but I don’t see how that helped if she was attacking on your left? Similarly, I did not understand that you had used an amulet in that post and tossed Ktulu’s magic back at her until I was reading Ktulu’s next post - usage of any item/magic/attack/defense should be understood in the post body, not through OOC notes (those are mostly there for rollers and quick glance during judging). Furthermore, in your first post you did not seem to react much at all to Eytan’s fear-including magic, and you didn’t seem to sustain enough damage, based on the fact you didn’t describe the injury much and that you went on to attack using that spot just injured (bucks with his hurt leg, pivots on his hurt leg…). Remember a roll of 6 is the highest, so damage should be pretty noteworthy.

Into your second post, you still don’t react strongly enough to the magic assault. You describe choking, but then it just seems to go away with no ill effects on you. You then avoid the bear attacks, but don’t really say how. I did like your mention of surroundings however, and you took proper damage and did so nicely by spreading it out over numerous attacks, including self-sustained damage from the amulet splinter which I found unique.

Come your third and final post, I was extremely confused by this random electrical ball of magic that burned your neck. I only understood what was happening by reading your OOC comments again, but even so, you referenced an attack made by Hotaru before this thread even started. I’m guessing your forgot? However you needed better description to tie it in realistically, and either way the timing was way off. Battles move very quickly and do not last long, and when Hotaru made her attack it was not with everything that you and Ktulu had already been doing this whole time, so Hotaru might have done things differently if she was still involved - which is why keeping up with timeline is important. The rest of the post was good though, although I would have liked more description of their breed/stats differences and the weather/surroundings during the whole fight.

Post 1:
“He was going to die, he was going to die for this, for them. People he did not even know, who had given him nothing, but a nice tomb and a valiant death.”
“Though deep beneath the layers of pain and agonizing discomfort, past the cowardice and beyond the diminishing courage, he found a small reserve of anger. There he dug his trenches.”
