A groan rolled through the golden’s throat. He only wished it would have been louder. Standing cannon deep in the snow he was waiting. His wolf hide cloak wrapped tight around his shoulders against the bitter wind. His annoyance though, for once was not at the snow or wind. It was on a more constant irritant. Haldir. The dark deer had been playing in the snow for a good deal longer than the golden could stand (in other words, more than 30 seconds). The young stag had been insistent though to stop. First it had been the rough bark of the pines, on which his now growing stubs of fuzzy antlers felt so good upon. Then it was the snow falling from the pine branches. Now it was the snow creature he was building from the pile. It was almost complete. Haldir, dashing around his oddly shapped mound that sort of resembled a blob of a horse, was adding the finishing touches. A few stolen pine needles for mane and tale and two sticks on the head for the horns.

The golden tried his best to be not amused. Luckily the ill events of late helped greatly. His mind was still worn from the all-consuming blaze the herd meeting had been the day before. Perhaps that was more the source of his annoyance. A wind rushed through the trees, and in rattle the branches dropped a load of snow of the golden’s back. A holler echoed in the words as he leapt from the cold wet touch. Haldir, startled looked on his bonded only to laugh at his misfortune. His heart had regained its light sense, if only for the time of the first major snow fall. The golden let fly a few curses as he shook off the rest of the snow. Enough was enough. He stomped, with ears pinned from the wooded ground. Haldir, saddened to leave his newly made friend, gave it one last look but dashed after the gold.

It wasn’t until they reached the open expanse of the valley’s center that the gold’s attitude adjusted. Not that what he was about to do made him at all happier. He had been tasked. God what a word. Disgusting. Tasked to give the conditions of the happy few promoted. The only consolation was he got to command the power of such things, and after yesterday, not get stricken from his place by Deimos. So stopping, with Haldir trotting up beside him, the golden calls. “Enna!” His voice not angry but commanding all the same. The name echoes on the mountains, and as he seemed to be doing much to much of lately, the golden waited.

something filled up my heart with nothing

Enna!’

As the voice reaches you, you sigh, hastily dropping the plants that you had collected the night before in the little cave before turning and trotting out back in to the frigid air. It hits you hard as you breathe in, the coldness of it resonating in your lungs, whipping at your tired face, though it does little to pull the heaviness from your eyelids. The fresh snow encumbers you little, your slender legs picking through it at a lope towards the direction the voice came, the center of the valley.

It is not long until two shapes, one darker, smaller, and the other gold, stand out against the whiteness of the snow. You smile warmly at the little deer next to your golden lord as you approach, wishing to play with him once more but not daring to. Even you understand that you have been called for a reason, and, with a nod to the little buck you turn your attention to the golden, offering a dying smile to him and a respectful dip of your head as you draw to a pause in front of the pair.

Arah had been upset with this one, convinced he had done something wrong, was unfit to rule anything, let alone this herd. You do not know, as you did not then, whether he had done something to upset her or if he had deserved her scorn, a wolf amongst not sheep but lions, nonetheless hiding, if she sensed something about him that everyone else overlooked.

“My lord?”

Perhaps, you muse, eyes locking on his young face, perhaps he just needs a chance.

Tasseled tail swishes along the power of snow. His hooves already were growing cold. Shaking his horned head he waits as Haldir entertains himself in the usual ways. The young stag leaps from snow drifts, each time burying himself deeper and deeper. The golden can only groan and look away that another will have to witness this.

Finally a shape appears, and a grin grows for once on the golden’s face because, after all she was a pretty thing. He had met the girl only once, late one starry night. Those times were barely remembered in the fog of the first part of the season, and certainly after recent events, far from his mind. Her head dips and his returns a short nod. God he loved this power. Look how well it suites him to stand with head high with a smile, or is that a smirk, on his face. “Time Mender” He speaks after her with a low rumbling tone. Yes he liked playing Lord very much. So much he even through a tease in there. “Don’t worry, I don’t bite.” He does worse things in the middle of the night.

Thankfully it made the drudgery of this task easier. “Your new rank fits you well.” His comment, in tone not exactly leading to a compliment. There was always a but waiting. “There is a great deal to learn though.” So many had accelerated so quickly, that there was a great many who had a great deal to learn. This part of the conversation though was horrifically boring, and so he waits not to enliven a discussion on his words. “You have been tasked with an expedition to…guide you.” And force some of that massive information through her skull. “You are to find three others and learn something of healing from them.” He grin grew again for a moment, though his voice lowered to a whisper. “And extra credit for venturing beyond the Basin.” Picking back away his continues normally. “You have been gifted by our God with rank magic, use it well. Whenever you have completed your expedition return to me.” Oh he liked all the power those words implied. Tasseled tail swished with a contentment. It would soon wear off, especially if she had any questions. Haldir, obvious to this all was still jumping in snow drifts.

OOC:: @[Enna] is to find three other people and learn from them an aspect of healing (watch a healing, learn of herbs, learn the neg. post, just learn anything). Unlimited timeframe (though two seasons is suggested). And it is suggested she learn from other herds as well. When you have completed it tag Thranduil and link the treads. Congrats on receiving an expedition and as stated feel free to ask any questions since this is all new!
