takes place at the same time as the campfire thread/right near there, just didn't want to bog that one down with foal shenanigans! That being said, all are welcome to crash ;D

Grown-ups could just be so slow sometimes. All they wanted to do was stand around and talk and Murtagh wasn’t about that. He had bigger plans for the day - plans that did not involve falling asleep at the hooves of his mothers, which would most certainly happen if he lingered around the campfires or waited around until the fun games actually started.

He had drifted with the group, following those funny dragons, but soon grew bored of the conversation. Tea? Why were they talking about tea? They clearly did not know how to have a good time.

After trying, unsuccessfully, to grab a piece of the sweet-smelling unicorn’s candy tail, Murtagh decided that his attentions were better focused elsewhere. He remembered hearing that there was going to be a snowhorse building game later on but he had never even built one before! Maybe he could get in some practice.

After little thought, it was decided that it would be in his best interest to practice but to do so within eye-shot of the herd members. Being grounded was not conducive to being allowed to take part in the games and he didn’t want to be sat on by a bear or two while everyone else was having fun.

So he shuffled off quickly, leaping through the snow and prancing around in circles, amused by the way his small hooves and legs left behind tracks that he could muddle up with each circle. Several lengths away from the adults, close enough that he could hear the faint mumble of their voices (and a shout if need called for it) but far enough that all that boring adult-talk wasn’t too distracting. He needed to concentrate!

Abruptly, Murtagh folded his legs and knelt down in the snow, bringing his head down until his eyes were level with the surface of the almost-powdery substance. It was cold, but he was determined. Narrowing his lavender eyes, the colt entered a staring contest with the snowflakes. He needed to find out how to get them to do what he wanted, and what better way than through intimidation?
