Oh how I longed to laugh in the bird's face when the knight decided to follow me home. Lanna quietly reminded me that it would not make me, nor our herd look good to do such a thing. That was the only thing that stopped me from such an act. Today she went home alone, meanwhile I escorted my possible new brother in arms home.

The trip from the Threshold to the Falls thankfully was not far. It never had been. We were after all the closest herd out of the four. My mind turns over and over the words DeStefano had spoken before we had departed the Threshold. He had called me, fratello I believe it was. As we walked I finally spoke. The word you called me, fratello I think. What does that mean? I look to him curious, not wanting to push to much into the stallion's past. But I wanted to know what he called me. It was a strange language to me.

Suddenly, okay with a little bit of prodding from Alanna I realized I had not spoken of the ranks each herd held. Each herd holds different ranks within the herd. For example, I am a member of the fortify rank. Meaning, I am a warrior. There are also those who heal, those who create, those who watch out for the sneaky, and those who have connection to the Paton God of our home. In our case that would be the Earth God. I pause, knowing that would be a lot to take in before I went on to explain. The healers of course are those who use both God granted power and herbs to heal our sick and wounded. The head of this is our Earth Medics. The ones who create use either God granted or personal power to create things. What is created depends on the power. The heads are called Masons. Then of course theres our Storyteller, who is the one who speaks to the Earth God for advice for the herd. Last is our sneak rank. They are mainly to combat against other herds sneak ranks from time to time or outcasts who try to use stealth to take what does not belong to them. I stop again, letting him take in all that information. It was a ton to take in after all. I've had five years to get used to it all.

Thankfully the trip did not last long. As we entered the Falls, I let loose a call for the leads. Preferably I wanted my brother Kaj to come... But Archibald would be just as good. One or maybe both of the Czars should be here soon. They or one of the leaders of the ranks of the herd make the ultimate choice in who gets to call the Falls home, but I have no doubt you will join us here. I pause before going on again. They may try to explain the ranks to you again, probably better than I could. To help you decide if you wish to join one of those ranks, or merely stay under the protection of the herd for now. And now, we wait.

If Love Were Food, I Would Have Starved On The Bones You Gave Me.” .

It was a welcome relief to have the cold wet weather disappear and the warmth begin to return to the lands. It was so much nicer to not have to worry about freezing your butt off or where you might find some shelter from the harsh winds. Spring was a happy yet sad time of the year for her but she tried to focus on the brighter aspects of the season. The worst part of this season would have to be the raging hormones that went along with it, well that was just her opinion anyway not that it really mattered all that much in the first place. Lifting her head to the wind a stranger's scent seemed to be carrying awfully close to the borders. While it was not uncommon it was a little strange that someone else had not noticed the scent of heard the call long before she did. Ignoring it for a few minutes to see if anyone might answer the faintly familiar call she browsed through some of the green sprouts poking out from the earth. Curiosity finally seemed to get the best of her though sending her out in search of whoever had uttered the call.

Breaching the top of the hill blue eyes gazed down to find a fellow herd mate accompanied by a stranger. Shamefully she could not recall the name of the stallion despite having seen him at various herd meetings over the last couple seasons. If she remembered correctly he had been one that had made the transition between Edge and Falls but she could be thinking of someone totally different with her luck. Names had never been a strong point for her as her memory seemed to recall faces but not the titles that went along with them. Nickering softly in greeting the grey slowly made her way down to meet this new stranger and see what he was all about. "Hello there, my name is Brisa." She introduced politely nodding in acknowledgement to the newcomer before turning to the familiar stallion who she could not recall a name. Smiling warmly she figured that it was less embarrassing to to just go along with it and hope that conversation might jog her memory. " Welcome back." She commented lightly with a slight bob of her head. Oh she was so great at all of this... not.
