I was finally caving.
After many long nights up talking about how I should join the painted steed within the safety of his herd where he would no longer have to worry about my well-being, I had finally caved and decided to give into his pleas. Nervous energy built up in my gut as I drew closer and closer to the borders that would lead me to my fate it seemed, as much as I enjoyed the company of Aaron and his beloved Alana, I wasn't quite sure if I was ready to walk into a herd that likely wouldn't want me as they only Cheveyo they knew was one who's mind was haunted by demons of the past. They would expect the battle hardened mare to return once again, when this time I was merely a softened version of her, a version ready to help heal the battle wounds rather than be the one to inflict them. A snort blasted through red painted nostrils while my jaw clenched tight enough to give me a headache from the sound of my worn ivories grating against each other.

For a moment I wished that I had told Aaron I made up my mind, that I would be joining him. So that way he would be here, walking along side me, a big grin lighting up his handsome features. It was quite evident that there was some kind of relationship growing between us, but what it was exactly was still to be determined. As of right now, he was just a dear friend, albeit a friend that I wished would come out and confess some kind of undying love for me, but a friend none the less. A friend that I wouldn't be able to survive without for he was the reason that a smile graced my own normally stony features. A smirk tugged at the corners of my kissers while I moved in closer to the border, white washed limbs stopping just shy of stepping over into the wall of patrols that would surely leave me greeted in a much less, welcoming way than I was already expecting.

Sun kissed harks flicked forwards as a mixture of various emotions rolled and tumbled with each other in my stomach, and again I thanks the gods that our kind was unable to vomit for I would have surely done so then. I shook momentarily, a shiver passing over my painted flesh as vocal chords prepared for speech. "Aaron!" I'm home. I called out in hopes that he or Alana would be close enough to hear my call before another member of the herd replied on their own terms.

Aaron

It would be in Cheveyo's favor, that Alanna and I happened to be paroling the edges of the Falls as she arrived. We fell in stride, just simply a bonded pair protecting our herd. That is until her scent was carried to Alanna by the wind. Chev! She squeals in my mind as she darts off down the path to go find the fem. A smile spreads across my lips as I move off after my hellhound. My heart begins to race the closer I get. Her voice reaches my ears confirming what Alanna had already figured out. "Aaron!" I grin even more. She had come looking, for me. No one else but me. Alanna teases me softly Someone's in love The way she draws out love would of made me blush if I was capable of such a thing. But deep down I know she is right. It has taken time. Time for me to heal from both Ophelia's rejection and Kimber's disappearance. From the hurts of losing pretty much all of my family in a matter of a few years. Everytime I look in her eyes I see hope. Hope of a future that maybe wouldn't be so bad...

I wish she would of told me she was coming. I would of escorted her here instead of her having to wait for me at the borderline. I take a mental check of myself, and then stop for a second to shake to make sure there is no clinging leaves or anything in my mane or tail. It's only then that I move forward into sight. I can not help but grin. She's as beautiful as ever. The way the strange painted markings contrasted against her golden and ivory frame... It was so simple, but to me she was perfect. She had fast become my best friend. That's when it hit me. I have fallen in love with my best friend. This won't be the first time, as Kimber had been my best friend too. She always will be. But something this time was different. No matter the distance or how long we were apart, it was always the same connection every time we saw each other.

"Osiyo Cheveyo." I speak warmly. This time, her language and my own flowing perfectly together. What can I say, I've been practicing. I want to have our own way of talking with each other. It just seems like it makes us that much, closer. Tell her. Alanna speaks simply in my mind. Not yet.. I speak back. Soon, but not just yet. I need to make sure of why she was here... Before I go professing my love for her.

resplendence ,
hold me now and leave me never

Resplendence was tired. Not physically tired, but emotionally tired. Everything seemed to be exhausting her lately, tiring her out. You see, it didn't matter how much she slept… she was still tired. She had tried to patrol daily, and for a while, it gave her enough motivation to get up - to move around. But, now it just exhausted her too much to give her that motivation. It was Valiance, now, who took to patrolling the borders and alerting her if anyone needed medical attention. Though, she supposed, that she also needed some form of it at the same time.

Today, though, she was pulled from her sleep (her third sleep of the day) to Valiance alerting her of Aaron and Cheveyo. Aye, it had been too long since she had seen these souls, and it caused her to finally muster up the energy to clamber to her feet.

Quietly, she moved her way toward them. Limbs were moving as if everything was aching when really nothing was wrong. It was her mind that was causing this, and she wasn't sure how to shake it. "Cheveyo, Aaron!" she greeted, attempting to keep some kind of glittering joy in her tone as she usually had. But, there was no shining glitter to show her joy, the joy that was buried beneath the layers of exhaustion that weighed her down.

Perhaps once most of her family returned from whatever travels they were on, the tiredness would fade away. Fade away into some distant memory and never return.
