"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

But if we're strong enough to let it in,
We're strong enough to let it go
"Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit!"
It went on… and on…. and on.
Sacre grimaced. If it wasn’t rabbit it was squirrel or mouse. It stimulated a feeling of exhilaration that sometimes ended in satisfied joy or woeful disappointment. At first, Sacre had been amazed, then quietly bemused until finally it became an annoying sound repeating itself in his head and it all stemmed from one creature. A fox to be exact, a one tailed one though it was best not to tell him that and save oneself from the dirty looks of pure disgust. Inari had a problem and that problem was his obsessive need to tell Sacre everything which made the mind of the young stallion rather busy making him seem rather preoccupied of late. Which, he was not at all. The world seemed to be suffering a pause and in it, not much had happened so far. So it was with great exuberance that Sacre set off north to travel to the Secret Grove on patrol duty, as the explorer in him was already beginning to nag from impatience.
"Inari" he complained and the fox shot back an apologetic glance, realizing he’d done it again without meaning to. Sacre sighed and offered him a crooked smile, not managing to stay annoyed for very long at his vulpine friend who was now watching Ríona play in a clump of grass. Spring had arrived in abundance and both his companions danced in the new life with joyous leaps.
It took a while to reach the Secret Grove that laid some ways north of the Dragons Throat, his trusty key tied into his long dark mane now bounced along his neck as he picked up into a trot and journeyed ever closer to his destination. The trail took him near the Worlds Edge, a place he still felt uneasy going near, he knew better to not hold grudges, but the past was a tenacious devil that lingered like a cold. If perhaps he had been older then the whole experience would haunt him less, but his young foal mind at the time had gone wild in fear whilst he had been far away from his family, taken by force to a stranger’s home.
He pushed on by; ignoring the way the land curved upwards towards the Edge and focussed his mind on heading to the Grove.
Time passed and he finally arrived to his assigned area when the sun had not quite reached midday, but the sky was clear apart from one or two fluffy white clouds. It was a pretty place, with willow trees and a pool, an area for peace and, once not so long ago, romance. Sacre never travelled to it often and rather regretted not doing so, it was quite nice to stand amongst the willow trees and do nothing for a while. Yet, he wasn’t here for that.
He set out on patrol of the vicinity, with two bright-eyed foxes in tow and looked for his fellow Throaters who were also assigned to the peaceful looking Secret Grove.
Patrol thread!! ehh I tried tagging xD (for Cirrus, Sheba, Shahrokh & Laedere)

You’re not really sure why they’ve sent you here, but you’re just so relieved to have gotten off of the island that you really don’t care. In truth, you had thought about slipping away once they transported you to the shore on the other side, but another part of you was a little curious about this supposed mission. So why not observe? Aside from the pain of walking there, it wasn’t like you had anything to lose. Thus, apathy in tow, you set out for the grove they had described. As you walked, you wondered what the point of all this was. Reconnaissance you could understand, but it seemed like they had intended to send a whole pack of you. How subtle could that be? However, it was none of you business, you supposed. You were merely along for the ride.
As you drew nearer to the place (or at least, as your surroundings began to match more of the description they had given you), your musings slowed and your ears began to flicker back and forth in search of the others who were said to be meeting here. Briefly, you wondered who they would be—it wasn’t a very organized spy network, you figured, if they hadn’t told you who you would be looking for. Still though, it made no difference to you; you’d just as happily sit back and watch them bungle the whole thing. You could use a little entertainment.
Upon arriving at the edge of the willow grove, you paused, then slipped under a leafy canopy to survey the area discreetly. The idea of surveiling the surveillers appealed to you immensely, and you enjoyed a private moment of amusement at the thought of beating them at their own game. Perhaps you couldn’t move as swiftly as you once had been able to, but your wits were still about you. Besides, you had realized, how threatening did you really look? You hated being overlooked, but losing the beauty that had always set you apart did have its advantages.
OOC: She’s just kind of standing at the edge of the grove under a willow tree, watching what’s going on—she’ll likely come out in the next round of posts once the rest arrive.

She had been told to move toward the Grove. Instructions to patrol the land, to report any new findings. Though, she didn't quite know what was considered new in the first place. So, she carefully pulled her bodice to the north and picked up a leisurely pace. Ardere continued to flip around in time, moving easily beside her bonded and taking in the sights. The dolphin was strange, but she was growing accustomed to the young one's random flashes of images and coursing emotions. In fact, she had begun to notice the young one beginning to shoot hot, boiling water from her blowhole. Of course, the young one never aimed it at Laedere, but one could still see the steam that radiated from the liquid as it shot through the air.
As they pulled in to what Laedere assumed was the Grove, she pulled her wings in tighter to her sides. Her muzzle pressing up against the key to the Throat to reassure herself that it would be fine. They wouldn't send them on a dangerous mission knowingly, right? She shuddered, eyes lingering across the field and catching sight of the young dark steed with his two fox-like creatures. Sacre? That was his name, right? A shudder of a breath is exhaled and she slowly begins to move toward the other Throat creature. If he was on the patrol then it couldn't be dangerous. Yeah. That was what she was going to go with. Aye. She knew how to fight, and she could snap back with witty words if necessary. But, she didn't want to. Not today, not anytime soon. She just wanted to settle into this family… to feel accepted.
"Sacre?" she called out hesitantly as she approached. A warning, so as to not startle him… especially considering how Ardere was already shooting off toward his foxes in glee (wanting to play, Laedere could only assume). "Twas ye designated to keep vigil in thine sector as well?" Her quiet voice bounced out farther than one would have expected, though her eyes still refused to meet any's gaze for fear of insulting them. Aye, old traditions will suffer a hard death if she will be forced to change some of them.
"Laedere speaking." | Thoughts/others speaking. Since Sheba was at the edge of the grove I had Laedere not notice her; especially since she doesn't know her yet ^^
Also, apologies for late response D:
