They did so love the shadows, brambles and gnarled branches of the Deep Forest. The raven found the place to be a comfort – a link to a past that he's long forgotten, one in another life, of another time. They feel the same sensations; she walks below and he glides above, both reminded of the peace as the misty morning air rolls into their lungs. It smells of fresh rivers, moist bark and a recent rain. Tallsun and it's storms have arrived. This morning is clear enough, but last night brought a few spurts of rain and has left the lively woods wet and full of crystalline drops falling from the leaves and pine needles. The streams that web randomly through the forest have temporarily swollen and cut away at their banks as they rush over rounded stones. The tumbling waters, the birds and the dripping left-overs are all that fills their ears. Phrixus seeks out a perch above one of the bends overhanging a gentle flow of water. It spills into a small chunk of marsh made by the recent melts in the Basin and the rainstorms, by mid-tallsun it will be long dried up. It seems a nice enough spot to stop and stay for a small while.

The golden fingers of a morning sunrise creep through the trembling leaves to gently touch the mare's silver back and dapple the mossy ground below. The warmth is already here – Tallsun was good for that, for cozy monrings. A lovely warm season in the Basin, more than warm to the south in Tangere's opinion. Phrixus swoops down without a sound and plants himself in a shallow piece of water, a sort of unintentional puddle amongst the greenery. Ruffling and un-ruffling, dipping his head and letting the water cleanse him of dust and debris. He picks through his pale feathers, content to be left alone to his preening. The sun climbs ever higher each minute, illuminating the dancing shadows of the quiet woodland.

What shall I do then? She ponders a few options, but it seems that work and duty are her best choices for today. Woodland forage – or herbs, or poisons, or anything of vegetation...really. She knows that whatever she collects it will probably have to be brought back to Lena, lovely Lena, who is nothing less than an expert teacher when it comes to healing or herbs. She smiles at the thought of the lovely bay woman. You're getting distracted with your daydreaming again... Her inner voices rattles, alerting her attentions back to a rather lazy search for anything interesting among the growth on the forest floor.
