Searching for herbs. Searching for her daughter. Trying to heal everyone. Trying to sleep. Trying to be present. Trying to not let that goddamn depression slip into her bones and make it impossible to move. Was it possible anymore? She swallowed down what little fear she had left - all of the emotions drained from her as she made her way back toward the thistle meadow. She just needed to… to get out. But, she wasn't sure it was going to do her any real good. No, that would be impossible. Too much was happening. Too much was uncertain. How was she supposed to function when everything was always in flux. It seemed as though even the ground beneath her hooves was unstable, and with each step it threatened to give way on her.

No. Stop thinking like that. It would get better. It had to. Oh, lies. L-I-E-S! Her daughter was missing, presumed dead at this point, and Quilyan seemed to have grown distant. Did he blame her for not taking care of their daughter well enough? For trying to find a way to balance taking care of everyone and their long lost cousins as well as the family that was supposed to have so many of the herd looking out for them?

She was the reason everything broke. And, as she finally settled herself down in the meadow she allowed her limbs to fold in a fresh patch of lush grass. Her glitter beginning to pool around her - flying in the air ever so slightly with the breeze the shuffled her locks while Valiance worked on braiding them. Perhaps if he could bring her focus back onto something else then she would stop this. Perhaps he would be able to get her back on her feet - to go back home.

Soaring high above the meadow, the thistles blended together like a blanketed sea of lavender and deep purples to the amazonian pegasus. She had spent much of her youth in the meadows, frolicking with the other foals of the outcasted band which had taken Urania in, in the height of her pregnancy. Many more years were spent above it on her way to various parts of Helovia, it held fond and bittersweet memories which floated in and out of her mind like a soft lullaby. Her first tenative footseps were taken on the immaculate sea of purple hues and deep greens, and they were the first to feel the soft swirls of interrupted air caused by barely airworthy wings.

Nephele was cutting across the meadow on her way to the Blood Falls, on her way to her first official patrol as a member of the Dragons Throat. A sense of pride bloomed in her chest, like a newly kindled fire waiting to be fed into a blazing inferno. It was odd, really, she mused while her head lowered to get a better look at her current location — the only other time she had felt this kind of inner peace was when she had spent time with a herd from lands far from here, primal in their nature and steadfast in their ways. Perhaps that's why the sun touched lands pulled on her heart strings more than the others, and not out of some slumbering instincts to see her family homeland.

Noticing an odd blip in the dancing meadow, a lone figure cut a glittering contrast amongst the rest of the rich palette around them. It was odd to find someone simply laying out in the open, so exposed to the elements and any creature that would do harm. Intrigued, she banked right, entering a swirling decent towards the ground. Landing with her hind legs first, her front hooves nestled into rich grass gently — she kept a respectable distance from the equine in her presence, wings stretching out to the very end of their span before tucking neatly against onxy hide. Naturally, she was wary, but her curiousity made her stay in place.

"Are you alright?" Nephele called, regarding the mare and then the red dragon between her glittering strands — blue and gold eyes glinting with interest and concern, the dun mare looked caught in a state of sadness, but she could never be too sure of herself when it came to the state others.

@Resplendence

“She was beautiful, but she was beautiful in the way a forest fire was beautiful: something to be admired from a distance, not up close.”

Movement. Others. Resplendence didn't even care. Yeah, Valiance was about ready to scorch her ass to get her to feel again. This was so far from okay he couldn't even put words to the level of his anger. Still, she could feel it like a hot flame through their bond, which only continued to strengthen her distaste for the situation. Eh. The creature would probably leave her alone anyways, right? Valiance sure as hell didn't think so. And, as he took to the skies near her it was with an anxious twist of his tail and curl of his lips.

God, why did she have to be so freaking stubborn? It was only when she noticed that the other creature was actually still moving toward her that she even allowed her brain to offer a semblance of caring. Gold eyes shifted toward the dark pegasus as she folded her wings to her side. It was a decent distance at least - enough to satisfy Valiance who was still circling overhead and offering a few cuss choice words to Resplendence through their bond.

Are you alright? Alright?! Hah. Nothing was alright. Nothing. Fucking nothing. Still, the expression on her face did little to portray the uncertainty and sadness that clung deep down in her soul and caused nothing but anger to filter through the bond. Anger at the world, anger at her companion for being so angry at her. Oh, it was a lovely cycle. Though, if one looked close enough they would see the sadness that lurked in her bones, ate at what little was left of her sanity.

She blinks, perhaps taking a bit too long to answer the mare as she pulls words from her mouth - words that sound almost forced. Ear flickers upward, turning to listen intently to the winged mare's movements. "Just tired," she said, letting out a small sigh as she begins to pull herself to her feet -- tired of having to be strong and failing. Would she have to help this mare too? Her conscience wouldn't allow her to not help if the mare really needed it. Still, she wasn't even sure that was what she wanted to do. It seemed as if she were a tool almost. A joke among those with greater power. She wasn't allowed a real family, only allowed to feel the pain of losing everyone and everything that she cared for over and over again until she questioned her own life.
