She growled as the sun made another appearance from behind the sadly sparse cloud cover. The sound was savage and deep, for the days were impossibly long and hot and dry. She had left the site of the Tigress battle and Isles, surfacing at a long stretch of salt flats. Those had been tolerable to cross, for the water had cooled her legs.
But now, her fiercely lined face was painted with aggressive ire. While the warrior maiden was trained for discomfort, these prolonged days of dry earth and bright sun chipped away at her stoic exterior. And her forelimbs ached, her right front hoof acutely so.
Ridged face flew up, scaled ears perked and large eyes straining. Did she hear water?
Slightly awkward, limping gait carried her lithe body towards the flow of liquid. A stream split the vast expanse of dry meadow, much to the relief of Aquila. Lowering her ribbed neck as she sank her forelimbs beneath the surface, she splashed the cool fluid. Immediately, the vibrant colors returned to her skin as it came in contact with the water.
A harsh snort of satisfaction left her as teal eyes and yellow-ringed irises scour her surroundings for others. “What is this ’Helovia’, anyway?” Her throaty voice growled to herself as she stepped further into the river, colors jumping to life on her hide as she submerged her haunches.
open to anyone ^^ She needs to learn more about Helovia!
