Homesickness was something that he had never felt before in his short couple years here on..some planet. It was hard to tell if home had been a part of the same world or a part of another one totally separate from Helovia. The portal had made things all melt together so the truth would never actually be discovered except if one of the Helovian Gods decided to actually tell them anything useful. So far all that they had done was welcome them, tell them they were safe before trying to feed them back to their own gods. Sorry but the whole experience didn't exactly seem to make him feel all that "safe". Each and every battle had somehow left him feeling more like a burnt poptart rather than a member of this community considering his hide looked more like a checkerboard of nasty burns here and there. It had all started with that damned bear... who in the hell has acid for blood anyway?

Pushing through the lush greenery the golden stag paused to take a look around this new land he had come across yet again. Everywhere he looked there was green, green and more green oh and then there was the strange looking hut type thing just standing there. Where in the world had that come from anyway? He wondered trying to recall anything even similar in his memory. Did these Helovians build it? Shrugging with a shake of his head he turned towards the structure deciding to go see this thing for himself. For some he believed the word they would use was beautiful but to him... it was just interesting. Ever since he was young he had been left to explore the world alone with only the occasional stranger that would pass in and out. The wide range of emotion others felt was a complete mystery to the stallion for he had never learned what it was like to feel them. Love might as well be some ancient alien language for he did not know how to feel anything but loneliness, anger, pain and regret. The perfect combination for any heart breaker to have.

Deep down underneath the many layers of built up stone there was the faint curiosity of wondering what it would be like to be a part of something greater than just himself versus the world. Out of the few others he had met only one had mentioned the potential of joining anything but somehow that seemed to have dropped away and here he was. Would he ever find somewhere that he could feel useful or wanted? What was that even like? To feel wanted... Shaking his head he pushed the thought away feeling nothing more then he had minutes before. His mother had never wanted him and neither did any of the others, perhaps this was just the way things were supposed to be.

Hold on to me because I'm a little unsteady

Naerys had, perhaps blissfully, missed the first two battles. Considering the pain and injuries she received from the last two, she couldn't imagine the state she'd be in now. The burns extending up her back legs to her hocks were bad enough. Then there was the heavy bruising on her left side and her right shoulder - the cherry on top of her wounded sundae. Somehow, though, after the first fight she almost thought it all would have been worth it if her efforts had been recognized. Even just a 'hey kid, you did good' from one of the gods. Yet, she'd gotten nothing. In her foolish youth, she'd been jealous of the ones on the receiving end of the Gods praise and gift-giving. But by the second fight, after what had happened to Mauja... none of that mattered anymore. Suddenly she saw how stupid it was to want some absurd token - a physical piece of the fallen god's corpse. The very thought repulsed her now, made her stomach roll.

The slender girl, normally pristine and pretty, is still coated with the signs of war as she leaves the islands with the intent to go home. Her flowers had done little to protect her fur from the pool of blood she'd lain in with Mauja as she attempted to comfort him. The fur on her legs and belly were coated with dried blood and sand; even her tail is stringy and clumped together. She's a mess but it doesn't matter. What matters now is getting home. Mother, she knew, would be looking for her and though the black and white doctor is rarely, if ever, openly furious with the girl - Naerys certainly didn't want to discover her breaking point. The only problem is the pain in her shoulder. With her legs so thoroughly abused as they were, walking home is out of the quesiton but with the injury to her shoulder, flying home would require frequent stops to rest.

The ancient rotunda is her second stop. The place where she'd found her companion egg and watched it hatch. The same place where her father's companion egg hatched. That strange structure hidden amongst the greenery held a special place in her young, tender heart. Logically, it was a good place to stop for a quick rest. Her brightly hued eyes scan the tree tops for an opening large enough for her to land without further injury. It doesn't take her long and within moments the young girl is descending, flapping her wings at just the right angle to ensure a much more gentle landing. But as her hooves connect to the ground, her eyes land upon the golden figure of a stallion. He is larger than her and seemingly virile - his strength, whether she is wounded or not, could overpower her. Suddenly, she's even more aware of her injuries and the frantic throb of her heart in her chest. Could she escape quietly before he'd ever notice? For a second she considered taking off again but the burning pain in her shoulder instantly disagreed with the notion. Instead, she remains frozen to her spot with her teal eyes glued to the unknown stallion as the purple and white flowers spring up around her hooves.

The girl swallows hard, more cautious than she usually was due to her unusually beat up appearance. She forces herself to stand a little straighter and somehow manages to keep herself from quivering. "Hello." she manages to say with far more force and confidence than she would have thought possible in her current state. Despite the torrent of fear and anxiety swelling within, her voice is steady and she holds herself in check. There would be no visible signs of her distress, no weakness so readily on display for the stranger. Maybe it was stupid of her, maybe she should have turned and fled when she had the chance but there's something in her DNA that just won't allow her to. Naerys is not a coward.

Examining the strange structure of the building from many angles it became quite clear that nothing he had seen before had ever resembled anything close to this. Each of the joints were carved perfectly into the stone almost seamlessly surely only someone of great knowledge could pull this off with the help of magic. Magic had not been something he had been familiar with growing up but then again his childhood didn't consist of much other than loneliness. His mother only returned when she needed to and really she could have cared less that he even existed. As a yearling there had been many occasions that he had believed he would surely perish from lack of sustenance and his emaciated carcass had portrayed each any every bit of it. Living through all of that had been an immense surprise but it had taught him that he could count on nobody but himself. It had taken a long time for him to figure out how to take care of himself and get his body back to a more normal body condition score. At first he had been so weak he had not even been able to lift his head but somehow something managed to keep him stringing along. Without guidance in his life things became a series of trial and error until something finally worked, fighting had been his outlet to get what he needed.

Shaking back the tendrils of his forelock from his face rustling turned his ear warily but otherwise he remained seemingly clueless to the presence of another. That strange feeling of eyes upon you prickled his skin as he continued to nose around at the strange objects littering the ground to see if there might be something of use. Scenting the air no masculine scent seemed assault his senses so that only left it to be a woman out there somewhere. Finally turning around he gave his full attention to the filly attempting to appear as if she were brave. His blue eyes pierced into hers casually sweeping back over her painted hide before residing back to her face. Not being one to appear sloppy in the presence of a lady, regardless of how young he drew himself proudly as he took a confident step closer. "Greetings." He replied simply tilting his head to the side as he tried to get a better idea of why such a young girl was out here all alone.

"Can I help you with something?" He said with a flick of his tail waiting for the conversation to get to the point. What was he supposed to do just stand here forever? If it wasn't for her age his response might have been quite a bit different more in the forms of what the fuck was she staring at? He may not have had anyone growing up but he had manners somewhere in there and the decency to know who he could speak to certain ways. Wounds seemed to decorate the girl's torso in a much lesser degree than that of his own leading him to believe she had been at the tigress's battle. What dumb kid walks into a battle? Did Helovians have no sense, and here they were judging those of the rift. How much more convoluted could it get?

Hold on to me because I'm a little unsteady

He didn't seem to notice her at first and for a second she considered leaving. Except, as her teal eyes observe the golden man, she notices a few subtle but distinct tells that betray his awareness - the turning of an ear and the ever so slight shift in his demeanor. Yet he continues to explore the ancient structure and the surrounding turf. The gesture oddly quiets the fear inside of her as she continues to watch him - though now she's more curious than concerned about her own vulnerability. His lack of immediate response was an intriguing one. She stood behind him and though his awareness is clear to her, he proceeds almost as though she'd never arrived in the first place. Either he does not feel threatened by her presence or he is confident he can take her on (which he could, easily, if she were there to fight) Regardless, the girl cannot seem to pull herself away. She is intrigued, even as he turns to face her. She doesn't falter, teal gems meet his piercing blue gaze. His eyes sweep over her body, briefly, in an almost customary once over between strangers. She allows her gaze to do the same, though hers lingers (longingly) on the horn protruding from his forehead.

What wouldn't she do for a weapon like that?

Finally his voice breaks the silence and the girl dips her head ever so slightly in reply. "Pardon me, sir." she begins, her voice far more confident than it had been before. "I thought I might stop here for a quick rest on my way home. I hadn't expected anyone else to be here." And it's true, she had expected it to be empty, void of other equine life, though why is a complete mystery. It isn't as though this place is secret and Helovia is far from empty. Perhaps it had simply been wishful thinking. The girl sighs softly, pulls her gaze from him to gaze at the ancient structure. She could only hope this encounter wouldn't tarnish the happy memories she had of this particular place.

Once more his voice, pleasant despite his somewhat cold demeanor, caresses her ears. She returns her teal gaze to his and with a slight smile she responds. "Help me? No... not unless you know a bit of healing." The girl shifts then, stepping a bit closer as carefully as she can though the movement is enough to make her grimace. To avoid further vulnerability and embarrassment, she opts to remain still from that moment forward (or until she leaves to continue her journey home). She allows her gaze to drift over the surrounding area and the strange stallion, the gesture is enough to satisfy her own curiosity for the moment. "You aren't from around here, are you?" she asks, her voice softer and a bit more friendly even as she pins him with her intense blue-green gaze. "I'm Naerys, from the World's Edge." she offers, hopeful she isn't making a mistake by so readily giving away her name. Goddess help her if this came back to bite her in the ass.

The Rotunda was a thing of ancient beauty, and also a source of homesickness for the great stallion. It reminded him of the alabaster temples and structures of Thal'Sharah, peacefully one with nature underneath the Deities protective gaze. He had stumbled on it in his adventures just beyond his herd borders, wanting to get better acquainted with what lingered past the fallen shards of glass and fog.

Were there other structures like this across Helovia? Or was it the last, stood defiant against the test of time, refusing to crumble into the timeways and into fond and forgotten memories? Just another book in the Time God's vast library of records. Alune would of liked to have known the stories that had been written here, he wouldn't have minded a peek into Time's vast library, either.

The quiet contemplation and admiration was disrupted by the sounds of equine voices, crowned head turned towards the commotion as his brows knitted together, it wouldn't hurt to go see who else was visiting today. He treaded closer to the source, pale mane ruffling in the gentle breeze, stirring the occasional braid to wave like a lazy serpent in the midday heat. He caught the mare's introduction and found a small smile appearing on his velvet muzzle, he had missed the Stallion's introduction, if there had been any but at least he was in the company of a fellow herdmate.

"Greetings to the both of you, it's a rather nice day for a stroll, isn't it?" His voice rang out from his place concealed among the tree's and brush, then he stepped out into the Rotunda's clearing with one smooth motion. The ethereal philosopher towered above the pegasus and unicorn, he noted, though he lacked the impressive wings that the young filly had been blessed with — his mind can't help but travel back to Thal'Sharah and the Time Oracle, her own sets of wings were mythical in their design, she had been a thing of great beauty and great envy to the grounded Stallion.

It didn't help that she had been shameless in their showing off, either, he snorted at that memory and his smile turned more into an amused smirk. How he missed them all and their bickering.

Alune stopped just short of Naery's side, dipping his head in a more respectful greeting to her then fixed his attention on the Stallion. "I'm Alune, I'm also from the Worlds Edge, I am one of the Philosophers to the Moon Goddess and Seer." His tone is light and informative, liquid gaze fixated on the unnamed stallion now with an inquisitive edge to it's pupilless design.

Flicking an ear towards the painted pegasus as she speaks he couldn't help but amuse himself by adding stupid little silent side comments. Well at least the girl had manners even though he disliked the term sir cause it made him sound like he was ancient. Surely anyone should have come up with a better term than sir by now hadn't they? Let's see what other terms could be used to supplement that term... There was sire, but that seemed to dictate to more of a ruler of some kind and he was clearly too lowly for that title. What about the term... loosing his train of thought the golden stag just chose to push the internal dilemma aside and focus onto the next words spoken.

Naery's hmm that was an interesting name he mused taking a few seconds to play around with potential answers in his head. Not a name that was heard commonly but one suitable to define that of a feminine stature such as herself. Allowing his eyes another casual glance over the girl his eyes settled on the discomfort Naery's carried upon any sort of movement. This was why children needed to stay away from battles that would certainly hurt them... not that they listened to a thing adults said that is. "Can't help you with the healing unfortunately or I would have taken care of of my own battle wounds by now." He commented motioning to the burns covering patches across his back, neck and shoulders. Healing would likely be a good option for him to learn more about considering his habit of running head long into battle without so much as a second thought, it just might come in handy one of these days.

Before he could continue it was the arrival of another rather interesting fellow that drew his eye. This particular stallion was a hand or so taller than himself, had some of the creepiest eyes he was sure he had ever come across and was a rather interesting shade of colours. Nodding his head in acknowledgement of the brute he waited patiently for him to introduce himself before deciding he might as well be courteous and do the same thing. "I'm Kalona, and no I am not from around here." He replied with a small smile as he referred to Naery's previous comment. Was that always the first thing these Helovians noticed? "I come from a place that neither of you would likely of heard of. What is this Edge you speak of?"
