They stalk through the night as a pair, swimming under a silver blanket while they creep through the tall trees toward the Basin. It takes them a few hours to reach the cold, icy snow-bridge that partly connects the north to the rest of Helovia. The air changes immediately and the ground begins to morph into something different. The mosses and hardwood roots change to different types of lichen and muddy soil covered in tundra grass hair. Serrated rocks protrude from amongst the soft wildflowers and between the mangled pines. The snow has mostly faded from down below but ahead the frozen mountain caps glow in the light of a grinning half moon. A waxing moon. Tangere glances lovingly at it as she slips out into the open. She remains silent as she slows to a stop and peers at the glowing grin and it's starlight friends. Her pink lips part to suck in a deep, thankful breath. She turns momentarily to Eldala with a quiet, amorous smile.

There is a small stream ahead, a nice pool to drink from; nice and filtered from the graveled hills. Phrixus swoops down to latch at his usual perch behind her mane, riding her withers. Claw marks are delicately carved into her pink skin, leaving behind shallow ditches among her pale wither-bone. The bird ruffles and keeps his eye tipped toward Eldala as his mare walked on calmly, leading the follower toward the drinking water. They drink and move on, taking a path through the ancient aspens the line the eastern side of the snow-bridge.

The night wriggles and growls all around them. All the marbled unicorn does is bend an ear once and a while. Nothing seems to alarm her, her muddy eyes steady on the trail ahead as it winds and curves through the rocky terrain. Phrixus takes wing once again and flies ahead to scope out the barren snow fields ahead. The snow fields are actually flourishing meadows at the moment, home to many caribou and wolves and such the like. They press on.

Finally after moving over the open fields with little problem Tangere can see the glittering of the sentinel. The dim light of a soon to be rising sun is starting to glisten off of the mammoth. “We're home, Eldala.” The  raven jets ahead and lets out several loud calls, swerving and dipping as he fades into the morning fog. She follows the invisible trail left by her companion, leading the newcomer passed the giant bronze statue. She stops and turns on a heel, flashing her tail back and forth and letting her eyes climb up the behemoth. “This protects us from outsiders – only those we escort in our home are allowed.” She lets her soft voice be the only noise for moment, unless the mare responds verbally and then there would be that... After what she thinks is enough time to contemplate the guard statue, she spins back around and walks on, pointing out the lake that never freezes, the home caves, the green house, jail and haruspex etc. “We're led by three different leaders – ” She cannot help but let a small chuckle slip out of her mouth before explaining, “There's Hotoru, Thranduil and Deimos.” She looks out onto the horizon after choosing a spot off to the side where they can easily be spotted by the rest. “I am certainly glad you've decided to join us, my dear. Thank you.” Her chocolate eyes settle on the mare with a tenderness not often seen among anyone anymore. It is genuine, her appreciation.

She keeps her eyes peeled for the others. Someone should surely be along soon to meet another newcomer.

THE two pale colored mares worked their way through the dense vegetation. It was not long before sun high turned into sunset and even the rigorous pace set by Eldala's companion couldn't distract her from her past. The ghosts she'd repressed for so long  arrived on the breeze first. They caressed her coat before wedging themselves in her soul like a splinter beneath a fingernail.

Unwillingly, the mare was thrust back to her favorite sunny mountain pasture, the highest one in their Empire, on the day they'd been invaded. She had been gazing down at the view when it had happened. The opposing army had charged out from the underbrush next to the center square, weighed down with protective armor,  and began their slaughter.  Most of the foals died almost instantly, burned by advanced fire and mechanics, but the mares and stallions did not. Oh, the sounds had been horrible, the smell of burning flesh, it had rooted her to her spot. Just as she'd managed to shake off the initial shock, a stallion had begun to charge up the hill towards her. She'd never have stood a chance. So she ran. /I was such a coward that day./

Not that it mattered anymore. Whatever her parents were, dead or alive, they'd never see her again now.  She had run for miles and miles until her lungs had burned and she collapsed on the sands of some distant shore.

Sadness was painted over her face when she tripped over a root. Jolted back to reality, she stumbled as she let out a curse, "Bloody damn trees!". A quick glance ahead notified Eldala that her feat of coordination had likely not escaped the attention of her new companion. The mare was gazing back at her with a strange expression. /Oh fuck, what have I missed now?/ Blue optics flung about and her steps slowed. A small exhale of breath becomes the companion to the astonished expression adorning the mare's features. The waxing moon shone down her gentle light on the wildflowers that were all around her. /When did the landscape become so beautiful? How did I miss this?/  She could not help but return her new acquaintance's expression with a similar gaze and a smile.

They soon stop for water, the same lovely flavor as that of the one in the forest, before setting off again. The odd crow remains seated on Tangere's withers from there on. Eldala briefly wonders how the mare trained it or if there is something more involved in their seemingly seamless partnership.

The landscape continues to morph until it is a strange, haunting, clean sort of beauty. Grass and mostly open space dot the view but, up ahead, Eldala spots a strange metallic sheen. She pricks up a moment, alarmed, but when her guide does not falter she relaxes a bit.

“We're home, Eldala.”

The young fem drinks in the glorious visage of the huge horse-like figures. The older mare pauses, explaining their purpose, and allows her charge to silently wonder in the enormity of it. There had been towers back home and there had been mechanics...but never had the two been combined into such a beautiful creature. She almost inquires as to how they funcion but her tired muscles tell her that now is not the time for such a pause.

“We're led by three different leaders – ” a chuckle, “There's Hotoru, Thranduil and Deimos.”
And then comes that honest gaze again, the one that makes Eldala feel as if all her hair had fallen off her skin. Its unnerving, the kindness there, and the young mare finds it hard to swallow. She returns the gaze with a slightly nervous smile. "Thank you, I am happy you decided to offer me residence." She looks about quietly, "This place is incredible."

But what would she do now that she was here?

The Lady of the Basin was used to early mornings, long dawn hours where everything held itself in precarious balance. Quiet, soft, if a moment in time could be described in such ways. The Basin was a land of hidden colors, for though the snow was bloodless and reflective, it did not cover all. She moved across it, a vision of beauty and dawnlight herself, sighing softly into the crisp air. Tallsun may have melted snow across their land, eased ice from their bones and the barren expanse of the outer fields, but the North would always clasp her in its chilled clutches. She owed her early wanderings to her companion, mostly. Alice hunted in the twilight hours, when the royal purple of her coat and the thick rolling smoke could not give her away as easily. Hotaru could never sleep with her so far, a lifetime of loneliness and emptiness eased by Alice's companionship that returned with a vengeance when the bond strained and softened until she could not feel her close and safe any longer. The horrifying time of silence when Ampere had - unknown to them, for their vengeance would have been swift - cut the bond between them, had left Hotaru rocked and unsteady for days after. She wouldn't admit to herself the lingering weakness in her bones, the affection she'd been starved of, had purposefully kept herself from.

Stop, Alice bid her softly, eyes hell black but still somehow retaining their warmth in the pale light creasing over the mountainside and spilling into the valley. Over, no more. Her speech grew steadily over the seasons, but it still thrilled Hotaru to hear her speaking in her head nonetheless. Easing her loneliness more and more. "Okay," she murmured softly into the silence, realizing they'd both stalled and frozen in their tracks. Alice whuffed softly, the sensation of her eyes rolling a peculiar wave down Hotaru's mind, and the soft shush of her paws disappearing into the snow commenced once more.

They continued on that way. Hotaru trailed a respectable distance away from Alice, following the gentle pings she would send back and the shadowed pawprints in the snow. She'd rather not scare away any prey Alice was intent on finding, after all. Though she needn't have worried, she thought with amusement as Alice's wave of affronted emotion crested in her head. Because immediately after, she could feel Alice thrumming, everything narrowing and becoming more intense, the line between the pair blurring and thinning as Alice's emotions grew stronger in her concentration. Hotaru could feel the breaking point, the snap where Alice streaked across the snow towards her prey, heard the distant, faint cry of a hare. Felt blood across her tongue, a phantom memory, a sensation that didn't belong to her. Alice's smugness. No faith, she huffed in Hotaru's head, and the Lady threw her head back in a cascade of ivory tresses and laughed into the morning light.

They trailed onward along the borders. Now that Hotaru was awake, there was no way she'd be getting back to sleep anytime soon, might as well start the early rounds while her soldiers caught a few more seconds of sleep. Alice returned to her side eventually, bloodied all the way to the top of her chest, licking her chops and beetle black eyes glinting. Hotaru was sure the remains of her meal were buried somewhere, to be returned to at a later date. Rolling her eyes at the waves of satisfaction coming off Alice, the pair continued, their paces syncing up as they always did. Until, past the stink of iron and death, Alice caught wind of the pair on the borders. Growling softly, she brushed against Hotaru's foreleg as they walked, halting her in a moment. Stay, she ordered, and Hotaru frowned but obeyed as Alice went loping off to check it out. Tangere was a ghost to them, with how often she had come and gone, and though the scent was familiar Hotaru had not seen her in ages. Only when Alice peered down at the two and decided they were safe did the distant call twinge across her mind once more. Come, new pack.

Hotaru cantered towards them, making up for lost time to join Alice at the crest of the hill. The abnormally warm wind played with her icy tresses, standing regal and silent as they made their way towards her. Alice, unbothered by her bloodied appearance, sat proudly obedient at Hotaru's left foreleg as she always did. Fur brushing against the Lady's skin. As they came closer, Hotaru cast a smile towards Tangere, warm and elegant. Refined, but not showing weakness in the form of relationships to the newcomer. "Welcome to the Aurora Basin," she directed to the golden newcomer, bicolored eyes drifting towards her to settle on her frame. "I am Lady of this land. You may call me Hotaru." Brief twitch of her smile brought her lips higher, a picture of composure as she welcomed the hopeful new member of her herd. "What brings you here?" To which she cast an inquisitive look to Tangere as well, if the lady cared to share what news she knew from recruiting the lass in the Threshold.

The morning drifts on so very slowly, like cold honey. Tallsun's clean dawn colors streak across the jagged horizon line. The snow-caps twinkle a golden hue while the skies behind it light up in rosy red ribbons of cloud and sunlight. The sun has not yet crested fully over the peaks, still hidden half way behind the serrated icy monsters.

There is an awkwardness between this particular pair of stranger girls. They both appear honesty friendly, but all together suspicious, yet accepting. It makes for a taut atmosphere, but still, somehow, a warm one. A small curl stays at the edges of the silvery woman's pink and gray mottled lips while her eyes scan the openness. Hotaru. Her smile deepens, wrinkling those once smooth edges of her soft skin around her lips. Her violet canine gives her away, a magnificent creature, Tangere notes to herself.

Phrixus see's the approaching rose-colored woman and her dog and quickly decides that he would rather not. At all. And he finds himself a perch well away from the Lady's companion, watching them from the top of a behemoth pine. Typical of him, really. I will be up here if you need me, his cold voice seeps subtly into her thoughts. She makes no reaction to it outwardly, but between them there is a cozy, linked sort of aura. She thanks him with emotion, a little mental petting, per say. He keeps his gaze to the horizon and the land below in unison, his sharp vision will relay anything of interest back to his mare.

If only she could hear the Lady's thoughts...a ghost. Oh yes, she is a ghost, an apparition as soon gone as swiftly as it came, leaving faint tracks and moving things out of place just to show she was there for but a moment.

Both of her ears sling upright and she greets Hotaru with a respectful nod and the gathering of a stronger posture. Her tail slashes gently behind her, bright eyes and sensitive hearing all on the Lady mare. Tangere chuckles playfully when Hotaru's blazing two-tone eyes settle onto her, “We seem a better option then a flirty boy from the Throat, I think.” She smiles and slides her glass saucer eyes to Eldala. “I promised candy, right?” She tilts her head humorously and offers an obvious and theatrical wink. She leaves room for Eldala and Hotaru to speak, that is truly the most important part of bringing someone home. Meeting the leaders. Once they begin talking Tangere moves off to graze a few feet away, keeping an ear bent to the pair in case someone says something directed to her.

“Did someone say candy?” Perfect timing, wouldn’t you say? Almost a little too perfect but hey, it’s not like I was lingering nearby and waiting for someone to say the magic word or anything. That would be ridiculous. The little patch of tundra flowers over behind that big old rock certainly isn’t trampled or anything from my weight… I just don’t recommend that you go over to that area for a little while. No reason why.

I brush it off though as I casually walk around from the other side of the boulder and present myself - and boy was I ever a present. I’m sure they all agreed. Aren’t they all looking at me? No? Oh I suppose I should offer them a proper greeting. “Hello, ladies.” I recognize ⅔ of the group which isn’t surprising because I was (not) eavesdropping and one of them was fresh blood to our lovely not-currently Winter Wonderland. I’m particularly fond of Hotaru, because she’s a fellow pink, and I’ve met the delightful grey before and am always thrilled to see a familiar face. But it’s the newcomer that’s got my attention now - I can talk to either of the other two any time I damn well please!

If they would let me.

I’m just beaming at all three of them as I trot my sugar-coated butt up to them - coming to stand near (but not too near) our Lady in Pink. Green eyes bounce around to all the pretty faces before settling on the newcomer. Do I notice that Tangere has moved off so that newbie can talk to our queen? No, of course not. The whole “politics” thing is something I’m still getting used to - I’ve been having too much fun with my new job to really think about it. But I have some manners, you know.  “Welcome to the Basin! My name’s Johnny, the resident Weaver. I craft stuff for the herd, it’s pretty great.” No big deal. Oh wait, it is a big deal. “What’s your name?”

Eldala could not help but begrudgingly allow that Tangere had not been what she'd first appeared to be. The well-muscled mare had far more facets than a simpleton healer. She had a quiet air of power and her control of the situation was apparent. Not power, that was the wrong word, assurance was better. The mare knew who she was and where she belonged. /Perhaps, my father had been correct in his telling me to check my youthful haste../

The caramel mare was mulling over the shortcomings of youth when she spotted a bright colored pair emerging. A subtle sidelong glance was directed at Tangere to gauge an appropriate reaction and, upon seeing a positive expression, Eldala decided this must be the welcoming party.

The newcomer moves with grace, but has a decided air of place about her, much more so than Tangere. The companion at her side was nothing short of nearly neon ferociousness. It dripped in fresh blood, a stark contrast to the feminine mare next to it, but appeared to be uninterested in making any present its next meal. /That makes two out of the three total horses I've met here that have had these strange other-animal-friends. Is this normal?

The mare's chiming introduction as Hotoru, one of the three leads, does not come as a surprise to Eldala. Who else would one of the leads be other than a mare who looked like a Queen? She dips her head low and a moments smile flitted across the mare's visage. /Oh yes, if these two mares are any indication, this herd will do quite well at helping me find my place in this land./ But then came the question that reminded her she was still just past foal. What brings you here? Humm, what indeed? She'd forgotten about that.

What had she, an unproved youth, to offer to an Empire? Did young, newly adult foals regularly change herds? She was saved for a moment when Tangere spoke up, and surprised her with her humor. A genuine grin spread across Eldala's face and, catching on quickly, the young fem replied saucily, "Oh yes, piles of it!" accompanied by humorous eye batting directed at Tangere. Their first true interaction, she supposed, before dissolving into a few giggles. Rolling her eyes, the young mare continued, "He really did try, but was no match for Tangere's description. I would much prefer the close-knit and well defended community she described." Remembering herself with a small bite to her lower lip, she continues,  "My name is Eldala, and I would very much appreciate being allowed to join the Aurora Basin. I know I am young and cannot provide much help as of yet, but I vow to study hard whatever trade I take." The filly-turned-mare surprises even herself with the assured, strong tone her voice takes towards the end of her sentence. She is quite pleased with her pitch but is shortly interrupted for the second time since her arrival by yet another stallion.

She has every intention of treating him harshly but as he swaggers out from behind a rock she finds herself smiling. His boisterous structure bounces up saying sassily "Did someone say candy?". Eldala can't help but to emit a stiffled snort at the spectecle. This was, of course, quickly followed by a small cough. /Was that sugar I just inhaled? I feel like that was sugar./ Her eyebrows are most definitely raised by now and accompanied by a most amused expression. “Welcome to the Basin! My name’s Johnny, the resident Weaver. I craft stuff for the herd, it’s pretty great.”  /Holy Pine Nuts, a weaver, so there are some civilized aspects about this land after all./ She really shouldn't offend a herd member(especially one allowed to stand so close to his lead like that) in front of her prospective Queen, so she chooses to respond cordially, "I am Eldala and its a pleasure to meet you tradesman. In my originaly home I loved the cloth and foods crafts!" before making sure to return a very respectful gaze to the Queen, "I mean, if your Queen shall have me, perhaps I could help you out with some of the daily chores...that is if you don't have too many apprentices already." She smiles at them both, not nearly as guarded as before, this would really be wonderful if she were able to join a new Empire AND find her place within it so quickly. She only hoped the beautiful mare had seen something in her she'd liked enough to warrant residency.

Some part of the conversation had surely been lost on Alice and Hotaru, but the Lady merely lifted an eyebrow curiously and allowed Tangere and Eldala their private joke. It clearly did not concern her, so she did not bother herself with wondering about it. Eldala caught herself quickly enough after all, introducing herself in a stumbling, nervous way that was both exasperating and endearing to the straight-laced Lady. She tilted her head obligingly at the words, and though she'd already scoured every inch of the golden child, she did so once more if only to occupy herself. Stop, Alice said, though her voice was thick with profound amusement that Hotaru knew meant she found it just as funny that Hotaru could be intimidating to any who crossed her borders and sought her sanctuary.

"Even the youngest of foals provide something for the Basin. Do not underestimate your abilities," she advised, if only to try and bolster the newcomer's confidence in herself. Hotaru had no time for those with weak will and errant, vagabond hearts. Of course speaking of vagabonds...a rather curious pink creature approached, a weaver by the name of Johnny, whom she knew by name but by nothing else. Her nares twitches appreciatively at whatever sweet, sugary scent he was emitting, and smiled at him. Another pink fellow, then? At least she was not the only one with odd coloring, Hotaru laughed to herself.

Johnny entranced Eldala in his own way, spouting further words from the golden girl until she remembered herself - again - and turned beseechingly to Hotaru. Ah, so it was time for her to make her decision? Well, washy as the child seemed to be, she was still a candidate and one with a horn upon her brow at least. Hotaru had no qualms, though she still thought she to be an airhead for a first impression.

"Our weavers are always happy to have more apprentices. If you so seek their tutelage, and the family Tangere tempted you with, then you have my blessing." Hotaru finally smiled, a warm and inviting thing. "Welcome to the Aurora Basin, Eldala." Alice snuffled and Hotaru tilted her head, eyes crinkling beneath her smile, and turned to Johnny. "I trust you will take care of her?" If she wanted to be the weaver's apprentice, well...she could begin immediately. Hotaru had many things still left to do that evening, and she could not be bothered giving Eldala the tour of the rather massive Aurora Basin. It took a good two days of travel just to get from one end to the other. Hotaru could not spare that, even if she had wanted to. So she turned her head to Tangere as well. "Tangere, if you have the time, please show Eldala around. I must take my leave."

Dual eyes flitted back at last to Eldala and gave a parting, ethereal smile. "Welcome to the family. May we meet again soon." And she and Alice stood and walked away, though not without her sneaking out a tongue and cheekily licking Johnny's hindquarter, winking and disappearing into the flurry of snow beyond the mountain ridge.

She leaves an ear bent to their voices and picking her head up when she hears Johnny roll in on the scene. The air is tight and weird, Tangere thinks to herself. Thank the Gods for the little pink, sugary sweet Johnny-boy. She smiles to herself as keeps snatching at the fading mountain grasses. Orangemoon is starting to take it's premature toll on the Basin, as always. When the girl speaks the air gets even weirder, really, it does. She keeps munching away, slashing her tail as if she wasn't listening. Queen's apprentice? Come on. She snorts to herself as if some pollen is making her nose itchy. Her nose isn't itchy. She's feeling super weird and just had to make a noise, that's all. Hotaru smooths it out with her rather cold, precise voice. She behaves like a Queen – stuck up like a proper royal woman. Tangere's outwardly appearance betrays nothing but compliance as she is addressed by the rosy woman. She lifts her head and steps forward, “Yes, of course.” She dips her head with a deep and cordial nod, a farewell bow of sorts. Nothing too dramatic, only an acknowledgment of the mare's rank. The painted unicorn watches her depart with bright henna eyes, mulling over what she thinks of the Queen after she's seen her up close and personal. Even if fleeting, it was certainly telling. She has the attitude, certainly. You need much more, Tangere guesses. Much more. She decides she doesn't know yet what her complete analysis of Hotaru is. She must see more. Understand more of the shape of her beloved home under her care, under Thranduil's care. Tang's mind drifts to Deimos for a fleeting moment. She snickers to herself and snaps back into the present.

She ignores that Eldala may be feeling a bit odd after being somewhat 'redirected' by her new queen. “They don't really have apprentices.” She stays serious, trying to not seem as though she would be talking down to the mare in any manner, “It's all about proving yourself here. And anyone who has yet to prove themselves really do not deal with the Leaders.” She resists scoffing. “It's okay though. Do not worry. Johnny and I will help you with anything you need!” She smiles delightedly and looks over to her flavored companion, “What should we show her first?” She gives him no choice but to be dragged along on the tour. “We can talk about your plans, Eldala, on what to do with yourself. And we can help you pick out your own cave as well.” She is beaming still, keeping her gaze on Eldala.

I thought ‘apprentices’ was a funny word to use, one that I had never used before. And then, of course, there’s complete panic because what if I already apprentices and I’m just finding out now?! I’m rather new to this whole thing, like I said, but there’s every possibility that I’ve just been ignoring a huge part of my rank - that there are other people below me in the ranks. “You got it!” I grinned at Hotaru. That’s an appropriate way to talk to you queen, right? Oh well. Too late to take it back now. She seems to be making her farewells, which is alright. It’ll be easier to talk trash about the Basin when the leads aren’t around.

Just kidding!

She quickly endears herself as my favourite ruler in the history of everything when she sneaks a lick at my hindquarter on her way out. It was so unexpected, especially paired with the wink, because I didn’t know our dear queen very well. My reaction was to laugh loudly, a bubbly nothing-but-happiness sort of laugh. Oh yeah, she’s alright in my books. Quickest way to my heart, you know.

Once the darling queen is gone I focus back on Eldala and Tangere, still grinning and I don’t think it’s going to disappear anytime soon. Having not wanted to interrupt earlier, I finally get the chance to show my elation at the discovery that Eldala was interested in crafting. As she should be, it was a delightful pursuit - all talk of apprentices and proving yourself aside. “A fellow crafter? How wonderful! I’d love the help, especially if you have experience. I didn’t have any before I got here but I’m glad they gave me a chance. Food crafting you say?” I don’t really know what that is but it sounds delightful.

Tangere is asking me what we should show our new sister first and I lapse into thought for a moment - my face screwing up in a comical show of uncertainty. “UM let’s go see the hot springs! That’s everyone’s favourite place. And then we can go to the caves!” Having already picked out my own cave some time ago, I missed the shopping around. I had spent nearly four days trying to decide between a couple of caves when it had been my turn. Everyone that stopped by said they were identical but I could tell the difference.

I ended up picking the one with a slightly more complimentary shade of grey.

HAVING learned her fate, the mare smiles brightly at her new lead and assuredly nods her head. "Thank you very much for your kindness Ma'am. I shall strive to become a great asset to the herd" She'd been sufficiently scolded by Horotu's earlier words about not devaluing herself and had made a note to never do so again in the regal mare's presence again.

With the departure of the Queen came the flooding of talk from both her new friends. Tangere seemed to be mocking her for her behavior towards the lead but Eldala was too happy to care at the moment so she merely laughed and said, "Of course! In my homeland leads hardly ever had time to converse with citizens." and, after that, she notes "But I am very glad you two are kind enough to take the time to help out a newcomer such as myself" And truly, she was, for Tangere and Johnny spoke of finding her a cave(presumably the dwellings here) and then Johnny to gush of the crafting opportunity, to which her response was simply, "In my homeland all foals were allowed to take a week or so to help out the various Tradeshorses to see which job they liked best. Before I'd left home I'd spent the most time in the food and fabric areas. I don't know too much, but can certainly help with basic tasks." She pauses when he says that he hadn't known much about his position before getting appointed and her eyes go briefly wide. "You must have been very good to get your position so quickly!" though, inside her head, she thinks /Or, I've simply managed to join a very under-staffed Empire. I suppose that presents opportunities for advancements in the end though./

And, with that, they set off to the other side of the herdlands where these lovely hot springs seemed to be. Along the way, the young mare spotted several holes bored into the mountainsides which she assumed were the caves Johnny and Tangere had mentioned. She finds it interesting that these horses had dwellings...albeit primitive...similar to the ones back home. Eldala smiles a private smile to herself at the wonder of having made two new friends, being accepted into a new empire, and obtaining a position all in the same day. It was such an astonishing feat after months of lonliness to be so suddenly withing a family once more. She knew, firmly, that she had made the right choice in coming here.
