With the seasons changing rapidly before their eyes it was only a matter of time before the weather also decided to bring along cooler days and ever colder nights. Needless to say Frostfall and Orangemoon were two of the mare's least favourite times of the year. Why couldn't the gods just decide to revamp their whole seasonal ideas into options that were better suited for all of them? What was so wrong with having an extra long Birdsong instead of Frostfall? Surely the weather would be much better suited to those hotblooded creatures such as herself... right? Regardless of her efforts the white mare had come to accept the weather as something that she could never change, but that never stopped her what if train of thought.

Waking her son before rising herself the alabastar mare drew herself from the small cave that her small family shared. It wasn't much but it was enough to call home, at least for now until something better came along. A cave was definitely a huge improvement from the open fields from when she was a youngster, much safer and they tended to come with the smallest chance of weatherproofing. Shaking the dust from her coat she lowered her head to tenderly touch the side of her crimson egg that had spent the night curled beside her. It was still a mystery as to what would come of such a strange jewel but she couldn't wait to meet it. Nosing it carefully into the vine and twig makeshift holder she had concocted she lifted the longest strap to drape it around her shoulders. Ensuring that it was safe and sound she soon set out to finish something that she had started only the season prior.

Feeling a joyful bounce to her step for once was a great feeling for the alabastar mare considering what she had been through. Things were finally beginning to look up, and it was all thanks to the handsome pegasus Kaj. There had been many bumps and potholes along the way but hopefully now that things had settled things would only get better and better. Humming softly as she trotted along she was thrilled to feel the warmth and the humm from her precious little egg enjoying the music as much as she was. It didn't take too long to arrive at her construction zone which was in a bit if a disarray from her earlier experimentation, but hey she had at least found a way to build walls! Strutting over to one of the trees she safely tucked her egg away so that she could work and not be petrified of accidently hurting her precious little baby in the process. Reaching out to the bountiful earth a shiver raced up her spine at the thrilling feel of the earth all around her. Having this kind of crafting magic was amazing and would definitely never get old.

Sending out some magic to gather those who had expressed interest in the crafting gig she had going she turned to her pile of supplies searching for what to use first. Having gathered lots of vine and rocks from when she had built the shelves all that was left was the timber. Scanning the immediate area she set her sights on a few medium logs and trotted over to begin the ardous process of hauling them back over to her work site for assembly. This was the least favourite part of the job but someone had to do it and so far she was the only one standing around. Using a few large pieces of vine to wrap around the ends of the log the mare began trying to drag them back.

The duchess trotted through her herd, her body quite a bit more relaxed than it usually is. The air was getting cooler, this morning had woken her from her slumber with a chilly breeze pressing against her sides. She wasn't particularly fond of the cold weather, but she didn't oppose it, either. Being woken up from her rest was a bit annoying. Finding it difficult to go back to sleep, Agnodice had grabbed her glass basket and set out for a morning walk.

Perhaps she would venture out for more herbs this morning. She wouldn't be able to make it all the way to where she needed to be in order to do so today, but she could get a start on it. With sleep still weighing on her eyes, the mare wandered the falls, flicking a curvaceous ear towards a bit of racket she heard not far from her.

Her gaze scoured the Falls till it fell upon a pale, alabaster equine doing...something? She was surrounded by walls, vines, and shelves. What in the world could she be doing?

Agnodice watched her for a moment, head tilted slightly to one side as she watched her work. She didn't learn much from simply watching the mare, though. She soon found it within herself to approach the equine, stopping a few lengths from her worksite. The duchess gingerly placed her glass basket by her hooves, pulling her head up to display her full height. She was short, but in her mind, she didn't need hands to be tall.

"What are you doing?"  The duchess asked softly, features a bit expressionless. She flicked her onyx colored tail, watching the taller mare intently. She was certainly building something, but what? And for what reason? Agnodice would simply have to find answers to these questions, but she had plenty of time to spare.

ermm she's not interested in crafting, but since it's for the healers, she'd be happy to lend a hand :3

I'd rather be a riot than indifferent; this means war
Rasta sighed, even if she was struggling on figuring out whether to stay or to go, she knew that she needed to at least assist the herd that was giving her refugee for the time being. A gentle movement had her turning back toward where the healer garden was - where the bookshelf had been made.

She arrived to feel vines and rocks as well as timber. Still, the mare who had been doing the crafting seemed to be struggling in trying to get the timber over to the bookshelf. "You put the logs together, darling. I got the trees," Rasta said, a gentle smirk on her face as Ettore went to rest by the egg, which he assumed was Brisa's. Carefully, Rasta began to pull at the roots. Each one would come up from the ground and start to push the logs. When it stopped another would appear behind it and push it forward again. This continued, basically creating a conveyor belt for Brisa to pull the logs from once they reached the bookshelf. Rasta looked over toward the other mare, who had questioned what Brisa was doing just as Rasta had come up. The old Mason in her had her offering a task for the mare, should she wish to help. "I'm Rasta, pleasure to meet you. Perhaps you could find some more logs for me to help bring down. If you find them and I move them the process will go much quicker in the end. Then Brisa can use it to craft whatever addition to the healer section she was planning on adding."

It was tiring work - much more exhausting because of her lack of crafting magic to keep some of her parts in place. Even though the air had been cooling down, sweat was beading against her pelt as she concentrated on pulling up each root in time to keep the momentum on the logs and then pulling up just enough roots to stop the log so it didn't crash into Brisa or the other mare in the end.

"It's nice to know that even if I leave, someone will care enough to take pride in building things here…" Rasta murmured, spilling thoughts out loud and not truly realize that she was even doing it. Aye, she supposed it didn't even matter. Brisa seemed to be one that she would call a friend - for she didn't dislike her, and she didn't love her. All the same she was far more tolerable than most - and she had yet to make note of her blindness, of her inability to see the colours that surrounded them and created the most beauty in the world.

Hope you don't mind that Rasta kinda offered random orders XD

Heaving a determined sigh the alabaster mare pushed forward eagerly trying to gather all of the items that were going to be used on the hut. Things were very slowly moving along and she was just beginning to think that everyone else had forgotten about the project when someone showed up. Pausing to acknowledge the unfamiliar mare she smiled kindly. "Hello." She stated simply trying to be as friendly as possible to anyone who might drop by to help out. Before she could answer the grey's question the familiar figure of Rasta joined the group. It was a relief to see the mare who she had started to consider her friend, well her building buddy so to say. So far she was the only soul who had seemed to care enough to help out in making this place better for them all.

Eying the large hawk perched nearby her egg she found herself a little reluctant to trust the bird but seeing that it was Rasta's companion she would make the exception. Plus the more she thought about it she couldn't really see a hawk choosing to eat an egg. From what she knew of the creatures they tended to only prey on live things that moved or swam. Relaxing a little at her conclusions she nodded along with Rasta's suggestions gratefully. Giving orders was not something that she was great at and especially when it came to crafting. Drawing forth her own magic once more she continued to help move the logs down into the pile.

When enough of the long limbs had accumulated she moved her attention to beginning to use the vines to pull the logs into formation. The work was exhausting but it felt good to be doing something useful that would help many. Pausing to brush the beads of sweat from her forehead she caught Rasta's words. "It's nice to know that even if I leave, someone will care enough to take pride in building things here…" What? Glancing over to the golden mare in surprise she found herself responding. "Why would you think about leaving?" She asked softly hoping she was not prying too much into someone else's business.

Her eyes flicked from mare to construction, noting the mare's unquestionable kind smile. Agnodice rarely showed anything similar, but she felt almost guilt not doing so now, when she had simply waltzed in without an introduction, or much less, a hello. She found herself acting like this quite a bit, recklessly speaking to strangers without even muttering a greeting. She was used to everyone already knowing who she was. She made a note to herself to improve this habit, for she was not in Atemae anymore.

Fortunately, the duchess did not have to spend long wallowing in embarrassment, for another pale coated mare approached. She had a hawk by her side, and a similar marking on her flank. She flicked her curvaceous ears forward, certainly more interested in the crafters' work when the newcomer addressed her with a flowing stream of confident words.

The maiden was pleased to find the construction was to benefit her area of expertise, and flashed the pair a small smile, a relatively simple gesture, but one that felt foreign on her lips. "My name is Agnodice, I'm a Caretaker. I would be more than happy to help,"  She offered with a nod, not waiting to listen to a reply from either mare before bounding off to do as she was told.

She followed orders well, and when given a job, Agnodice would work relentlessly at it. She hadn't always been that way. Before the savior maiden was neither a maiden nor savior, she was a filly, a princess schooled in all royal customs and groomed to rule (despite her chances of ruling being slime). She was not fond of it, and only found an affinity for education and work through her longing to heal.

Her tireless work ethics were useful, and as she picked through the verdant in the Falls, she actually forgot about what she was supposed to look like. Her mane and tail grew tangled, and mud was beginning to smear across her coat. She would not mind it for the moment. She managed to drag a few logs back to the crafters and place them in a delicate pile. Her stature was meek, her muscles almost to weak to accomplish the task. But she persevered, she always would.

macaria

palest shadow; darkest light

There was a group of them around a half built something or other. Why not approach them?

Macaria was used to not having names for things or just completely not knowing what was happening and why. She decides this morning that it's time to explore the Falls and find some faces to put to the names she's been hearing her whole life; and who knows, perhaps she'll even see someone she knows from when she was a baby. A motherless, tiny little baby, clinging to the shoulder of her father or one of her delightfully over protective brothers and sucking the nutrition from a kind woman who's name and presence she cannot quite fully remember.

Upon her advancement she sees Agnodice, a lovely pale mare she met sometime ago beside the river – where a peculiar beautiful girl froze the water around her like some sort of faerie nymph of lore. Distractedly, she remembers the gorgeous white girl and becomes fascinated all over again.

Hello there!” She interrupts her own flow of day-dream memory thoughts when she speaks aloud with her soft wind-chime voice. She nods to the familiar face and smiles warmly, moving to stand beside her and take a peek at what she's doing. Her eyes lift and dance over each body, taking them in and projecting that childish happy grin to each, ear up and tail raised and twirling behind her (very cat-like). “My name is Macaria....” She tempts the idea of mentioning her father or perhaps even her pointless title, but instead she skips all that and simply directs a focused look onto Brisa, who appeared to be leading this mission. “How can I help?” And with this she skitters over to Brisa's side and helps lift, or move or pull at whatever current thing the woman is doing at that very moment and then patiently waits for any instruction at all.

She'll help first, she muses, and then ask Brisa for a few lessons in crafting.
