The dark mare was quite proud of her most recent accomplishment, even though she was probably the lowest of the low in the pecking order. It irked her a little, but she was willing to let it slide this time. She was hoping to work her way up at some point. Taking her first steps out of Aurora Basin as a Phantom of the Basin she found herself heading further north. The chilly air felt somewhat soothing. The night was calm and no clouds could be seen on the sky. It was only covered with bright stars. Waprevah was pleased with her choice of destination but did not plan on staying for long. Perhaps only the night, then head back to the Basin. A promise echoed in her head, a long forgotten promise made by her brother. "Try your hardest to find a place for yourself Wappy, I know it will be hard for you, but do it for me...".

The mare had disappeared from the Basin once but did not plan to do it again, not after re-joining. A part of her wondered if she would have come back if it wasn't for her brother's words and the respect she had for him. The other part of her told her to stop thinking and just doing her job.

The snow covered her ankles but did not go higher. The flaxen liver chestnut had been walking for some time now but would stop soon to rest. She was looking forward to curling up in the snow and gazing at the stars without worrying she would fall into a pit and break her legs. After a few minutes, the mare was satisfied with her position. She folded her front legs, the cold snow shooting messages to her brain, but she ignored them. Once she was comfortable her skull covered face tilted upwards. Sparkling blue eyes stared at the stars that covered the dark night sky. A surprised smile crossed her lips when the colorful hint of an aurora began to show far up in the sky. Amazed, the mare gazed up, enjoying the peace and quite.

The Auroras danced across the sky in a brilliant display of cosmic radiation and wonder. Colours seemingly more plentiful than that contained within the curves of a rainbow stretched and blew over miles and miles, their gentle glow illuminating the world beneath in a curious, wondrous display of visual harmonics and illusionary symphonies. What caused the lights to cascade across the atmosphere above? Why didn't the colours touch the earth - or did they, somewhere, where one little mortal simply could not reach?

A glorified glowstick walked the snowy earth below the auroras - a pegasus mare whose coat reflected the brilliance of the skies above. Gentle, flickering specks of light dusted her hide, imitating the spattering of stars that could be glimpsed between the dazzling array of colourful lights. But she also reflected the curious auroras upon her hide, giving off a glow of a thousand colours - she was a walking aurora herself, a physical manifestation of the wonders in the sky above.

Why didn't she feel as wondrous as they seemed, perched on high in their heavenly seat, overlooking the plain, dark world beneath them, enlightening that same world with their brief but brilliant display? Cerulean pools looked to the auroras this evening, just as they looked everywhere recently, not truly knowing what they sought and never finding it anyway. So many found peace beneath the starry sky - Cirrus found only the troubled reflection of her own mind as it jumped from one thought to the next - from one memory to another - from one guilt to yet another.

She could not escape it - she had fled when confronted with the magnitude of what might happen between her and him, for she could not risk that again - she could not hurt him, though she feared, (because she knew), that she had hurt him anyway - but it was better this way, to be apart from him this early on, surely, it had to be better…

The starry-mare was walking with wings tucked in close to her sides against the bitter air, eyes drifting from looking at where she was walking and then up to the skies above - she almost tripped over the unicorn in the snow before her. But the once-warrior had swift and sure reflexes - she caught herself mere feet away from the dark-and-light tinted one, who wore a skull upon her face, and awkwardly hesitated on the cusp of either progressing forward or regressing back - what should she do?

"Hey," she murmured quietly, as friendly as she could muster in her socially inept, awkward way, as the motion of her legs stopped (but the patterns across her hide continued).

The colours danced in the sky, the sparkling blue eyes reflecting the scene above. However, when looking deep into those eyes, there was only a vacant stare. The mare had been here for some time now. Adoring the stars only allowed her mind some peace for some time. There was one thing however that caught the mare's attention and was worth observing, and it was that the aurora in the sky, was forever unpredicable. Every move was different, and whenever Waprevah though she knew were they would move to next, they went into the other direction. The mare kept this information close.

As the minutes passed, the skulled mare continued to stare at the stars. Though now with disinterest. Memories replayed behind her eyes. Fire. Death. Blood. Desperation.

The mare was so caught up in her own head that she could not hear the approaching pegasus. But once the pegasus had entered the mare's personal radar she could sense her presence. The automatic response of her ancestors, of a pray. Waprevah bolted to her feet and stared at the pegasus that was standing in front of her, a friendly greeting coming from her lips. For a moment Waprevah wondered if she had fallen asleep and was merely swimming in her own imagination. However, the mare seemed realistic enough.

The colours and the stars on the sky were in front of her, in a solid form of a pegasus. The colours moved gracefully, and like she had noted before, in unpredictable directions. "Hello ..." Waprevah replied hesitantly. "Who are you?" Waprevah asked, curiosity laced her words, but beneath the question her hesitation could be spotted, still wondering if this was merely her imagination.

The mare rose swiftly, sculled face and horns poised to meet the starry-mare head on. The swiftness with which she moved caused Cirrus to step back, for her wings to drop open from her sides in alarm - such was the way of a pegasus, always ready to take flight should the need arise. Brilliant auroras still danced across her hide, and through the colours the stars could be seen twinkling and glittering - Cirrus glowed before the mare, a beam of cosmic wonder, and yet she only felt like another awkward young girl, not paying attention, tripping over her feet and forcing herself into social situations that she would have normally avoided.

No, no need to avoid it anymore, she thought, berating herself for living such a hermit life for too long. I can do this, she tried to encourage herself, though it did her little good - Cirrus was not a natural when it came to social interactions.

"Cirrus," the pegasus replied to the unicorn, nodding her tiara kindly, attempting to convince the other that she meant no harm, (and that she should not impale her with her rather sharp horns). "My name is Cirrus," she repeated, in case the unicorn missed it, or neglected to comprehend that the word she spoke before was indeed her name. "I promise I'm real," she added with a smile at the other mare's bewildered expression.

"Sorry if I woke you," what is it like to sleep in the snow? But Cirrus wasn't about to question the mare's intentions or actions - she herself had done some bizarre, questionable things over the years, she could hardly judge another for doing something where the meaning couldn't be quite deciphered. "Who are you?" she asked at last, wondering, praying, hoping she wasn't being too forward, or pushy, or maybe she wasn't being open enough?

The pegasus shuffled her wings back closer to her barrel, as she awaited a response with a kind, quiet expression upon her countenance.

The fascination on the mare's face could not be hidden. She was amazed by the sight in front of her. The liver chestnut felt tempted to reach forward with her muzzle and touch the mare. The angel that was standing in front of her or that was the only way she could put into words how she felt about the mare. A soft smile softly spread over her features when the mare spoke. Cirrus. It was a nice name, one she had never heard before. It felt nice that the name wasn't tainted with bad memories towards others that carried the same name. A chuckle rolled from her lips when the mare spoke as if she had been reading Waprevah's mind. "I was just wondering whether you were or not," Waprevah said, a shy smile on her features.

"Oh do not worry about that, I was merely glancing at the beautiful sky, I have never seen anything like this before" Waprevah spoke, amazement still lacing her voice. Her eyes momentarily shifted towards the sky, until she remembered that the sky was standing in front of her. Why crane your neck if she didn't have to? "My name is Waprevah, from Aurora Basin" she said proudly. Even though it was not her birth place and she would rather proudly speak of the Kaneika tribe she had little knowledge of it, and her home now was the Basin. The pride she had in her would go to the Basin.

"What brings you here?" Waprevah then asked out of curiosity. She was not one to socialise but the mare's coat was pleasing to the eye and addictive to watch.

@Cirrus , I am so sorry about the month late reply haha, I understand if you don't want to continue but I would love to c:
