The wolves had been on the run.

Something had been hunting them, and they knew not what. However they didn't move very fast - for only the mother was left, and trundling around her paws were six small furry bodies. All the wolves were the same steely gray that she was, all with the same bright blue eyes.

Panting with exhaustion, the mother collapsed near the bloody falls, allowing her tongue to loll from her lips into the crimson liquid. Nearby, the pups played happily, grateful for the break and the opportunity to fight each other. Small yips and barks of excitement left their lips as they frolicked around. Keeping a watchful eye on the litter, the mother panted with muted ease from beneath a tree. But her ease was muted. A deep wound was laid across her flank and although it was already clotted, it clearly caused her pain. She didn't know how she was going to get her litter to safety..

A cool breeze stirred the trees and the mother rose her head curiously. Was there someone there, lingering in the bushes? She knew that these lands were mostly occupied by the hooved helovians. Normally they didn't pose any sort of threat to her - usually they left her alone, and she did the same to them. Then again, she was unsure if they were the cause of those who were after her? Those who sought to skin her for her beautiful pelt, and to take her babies for similar purposes?

Warily she growled. She couldn't move her litter fast enough to evade whatever was in the trees. She would simply have to face it. Rising shakily, the mother bared her teeth, prepared to defend her litter to the death, if that is what was required of her.

If you throw us to the wolves, we'll come back leading the pack

The rustling of the bushes was likely not what the wolf-mother assumed it was.

It was something dark.

It was something that was hunting.

In fact, it wasn't just one, but two.

But they weren't after wolves.

"Seestra-" Tae whispered to her already larger twin. Her dainty hooves pranced forward, as she did her best to replicate what she assumed sneaking was like. If nothing else, she tried to make as little noise as possible by tucking her wings tightly against her flanks, and avoiding obviously dry leaves and twigs.

They had been stalking small things - rodents, salamanders, bugs. Already Tae adored with unabashed joy, the sound of squishing bones and snapped tendons beneath her hooves.

"Seestra. There!" She whispered, coiling back on her haunches and leaping out of the bush into the clearing where the wolves played. Her hooves snapped the back of a lizard, and a smile of pride spread across her features.

As soon as the creature was dead, the small filly raised her head proudly and surveyed her surroundings. It was the blood red colour of the pool which first caught her attention. Her breath hitched in her chest at the sight of the beautifully swollen red in-land pond. Something about the colour ... the colour of life ... of blood ... it called to her. Taking a step forward towards the pond, the small filly noticed the wolves. No fear stirred within her - as of yet, Tae had never felt fear. Something about their wolfish and predatory features called to her.

We are just a word to you, but we are very real and cold;
Cold to all of this

Grusha followed behind her sister as they moved through the woods together. When they were on the hunt she felt as if they were one unit, one body, one mind, bound not only by their blood but by their mutual desire to kill whatever crossed their path. It didn't matter if it was a bug or a rodent. They all crunched under their hooves and their soft bodies all squished. If anyone were to tell her that what she and her twin were doing was wrong Grusha wouldn't believe them. What was wrong with killing something that wouldn't be missed, anyway? And it wasn't like they were going to waste. She was collecting them, the proof of that was in the dead rats and the snake draped across her back and the squirrel that dangled from her mouth by its tail.

Tae's voice made her stop and she watched as her twin readied herself then leapt from the bushes. Over the sound of the rustling leaves she could hear the faint sound of bones snapping as Tae killed whatever it was that had caught her attention. With far less grace than her sister, Grusha appeared from the bushes, her head lowering to inspect the lizard, but it wasn't one she wanted to add to her collection. She liked things with fur and scales and the lizard had neither.

Still it crunched and squished so it wasn't a wasted kill.

Grusha lifted her head and finally took notice of the wolves that they had inadvertently stumbled upon and she felt the white-hot spark of desire ignite in her small chest. She wanted one, but she wanted one alive. But how? How could they get one without killing it?

Two fillies leaping through the brush was not what the wolf had expected.

Her heart was both relieved (they were clearly not the hunters), and confused (but they seemed to be hunting). With dark intelligent eyes, the wolf observed the death of the small lizard between the hooves of the first filly, and then the assortment of other carcasses strung across the larger one who appeared moments later. With a low whine, the wolf called her pups towards her - but they all promptly ignored her. They were too busy trotting over to investigate these new hooved-wolves that had appeared.

With unabashed curiosity, they sniffed Tae and Grusha, as well as the dead lizard on the ground, and those strewn over Grusha's back. Their tails wagged happily, and they yipped their approval. So far, they had been too small and slow to catch anything, but they had wanted to.

The mother wolf stood and slowly approached. She did not appear to be afraid of the two equine-children, though her concern for her pups was far too strong to allow this interaction to continue unsupervised. Just as she was about to sit down a few feet from where the children - both equine and canine - stood inspecting each other, a crack of magic filled the small clearing. Immediately the mother stood, her tail erect and her hackles raised.

"CAVE." She barked loudly - her voice filling the minds of Tae and Grusha. She grabbed one of the pups by the scruff of the neck and swiftly ran into the opening of a cave. The squeeze would likely be tight for the horses, but the wolf knew that the cave was bigger once they were inside. It would protect them from the hunters.

If you throw us to the wolves, we'll come back leading the pack

Tae liked the way the scales of the lizard glistened. With furred creatures, she found that their thick and fatty skin covered the sleek lines of their bones - but with lizards and things, she could easily see where bones connected to their skeleton, where muscles stretched, and where tendons fused.

As the wolves came trotting over, Tae met them with equal curiosity. Her dark ears perked forward, and she lowered her mandible-lined jaw to their level. Their fuzzy bodies pressed against her muzzle and legs, and the small filly felt the same want as her sister did. She and Grusha would always be together - her Seestra would forever be in the forefront of her thoughts - but that didn't mean that their pack was exclusive. The girls were made for adventure, mystery, and an unabashed fearlessness. Were these fuzzy bodies before them, not built for precisely the same purpose?

Before Tae could reiterate these comments to her larger twin, the sound of magic exploded through the glade. Tae's head rose, intrigue twisting her dark features. As the mother wolf moved, indicating that they ought to move to the cave, Tae hesitated. Why would she run? She didn't know fear, and the sound of magic was not a likely candidate to stir that emotion inside of her. After all, their parents possessed magic that sparked and burned across their bodies, and their abilities exceeded anything the small girl could have ever imagined; so much so, that their abilities, albiet in strikingly different manifestations, had been passed on to the twins.

But, her instincts told her that the wolf-mother was no coward. She didn't seem the type to simply run away without good reason. Casting a look over her shoulder to catch Grusha's gaze, the smaller twin shrugged her shoulders. She picked up a wolf pup in her mouth, as she had seen the mother do, and trotted casually towards the cave.

As she reached the mouth, her head tilted in silent contemplation. She knew that she could fit, but she wondered about Grusha. Already her golden twin was larger than she. Tae knew without even having to consider it, that she would not enter the cave if Grusha could not. Dropping the wolf (who scooted immediately into the cave), Tae waited for her twin to try and fit through the opening.

She'd shove her through, if that's what was required.

As the furry little baby wolves rushed to greet them it occurred to Grusha just how easy it would be to take one of them. Her blue eyes drifted from the pups at her hooves to the exhausted mother and the wound on her flank that she assumed would slow her down. All she needed to do was grab one of the pups in her mouth (which meant leaving her squirrel behind) and take off. As long as she and Tae could stay ahead of her they would be fine. The mother wolf would probably even give up once she realized how exhausted she was and how weak her injury left her.

But Grusha's plan would never come to fruition. She wouldn't be able to see just how far she could get with one of those pups hanging from her mouth alive and wiggling and yapping. Magic cracked through the air and all at once the wolves began to panic. The corners of Grusha's mouth pulled down toward the ground and she looked at her twin. Why would magic cause the wolves to panic? It wasn't uncommon among Helovia's equines. Did the wolves know something that neither of them knew? Should they be panicked, too?

Grusha had absolute trust in her twin's instincts and decision making skills, so when Tae grabbed one of the pups in her mouth and started toward the cave she did the same. She dropped the squirrel on the ground and grabbed one of the pups in her mouth. The squirrel's body crunched under her hooves when she stepped on it as she followed her sister to the cave that the wolf mother had indicated. Tae, however, hesitated by the mouth of the cave which made Grusha stop, in turn. She dropped the pup onto the ground and nudged it into the cave.

"You firth." Grusha insisted, but Tae did not move to enter. Instead she indicated that Grusha should go in first. The larger girl glanced back to where they had come from then began the task of squeezing her larger body into the cave. It took some help from Tae, a few shoves and scraped knees, but Grusha managed to wriggle her way into the cave. She waited, then, for Tae to join her and when her twin finally came into the cave she nipped at her short mane in thanks for her help before looking to the mother wolf. "Why are you thcared?" Its only magic.

As the mother wolf turned to see two of her babies in the jaws of the two fillies, immediately her hackles rose even higher. She could not effectively fight on two fronts - not against these girls and the hunters - and for a moment she couldn't decide which was the more pressing issue. However, as both Tae and Grusha brought the pups near, she relaxed slightly. They certainly were curious ...

Without pausing to think on that issue, the wolf ran forward, grabbing the remaining pups in her litter and scampered into the depths of the cave.

Inside, her ears perked forward as she listened to the sound of something lurking outside. Its feet seemingly shook the earth, and a fowl stench filled the cave as it roared its displeasure. Clearly it could tell that the wolves scent stopped in the glade, but its primitive mind didn't know what to do next.

A soft rattle and scratching sound pulled the mother wolf's attention. In the back of the cave, left unceremoniously on a dusty wolf pelt, were two small black eggs. Lowering her nose, the wolf smelled them, and immediately whimpered. She knew what was inside ... knew that they were trying to get out. However as her eyes scanned warily over her own litter, as well as the deep wound on her flank, she knew that she could not handle adding two to her pack.

Uneasily, she looked towards the two equines, staring into their cold eyes.

Grusha & Tae
If you throw us to the wolves, we'll come back leading the pack

Tae's delicate legs leaned heavily on Grusha's haunches as she tried to help her twin negotiate the narrow entrance. It became immediately obvious that Grusha would make it through, the question was just how hard it would be for her to do so. Grunting with the effort, Tae spread her tiny wings and beat them as if trying to use the force of the air to assist with the task. Slowly but surely, Grusha edged her way into the blackness, and Tae immediately followed suit.

As did..

Tae had noticed that her sister had been forced to drop her prized squirrel in order to carry one of the wolves. And, given that Grusha was not normally altruistic, Tae assumed that Grusha had only done it because she had. And so, her sister's loss of that particular carcass was her fault. But not for long.

Tae focused on the animal skin, laying discarded in the grass. She knew not where her magic came from, only that it came when she thought of it. The song that fueled the magic seem to live within her very bones, and all it took was an inward hum to draw it forth. A flash of light suddenly took hold of the squirrel, and it rose, dancing awkwardly and then flying in the air towards them, bouncing up and down as Tae tried to make it appear lifelike. In this, she obviously failed - she was far better acquainted with what things looked like when they were dead, rather than alive - but the gesture was clear enough. Her spirit-magic dragged the skin into the cave, depositing it promptly at Grusha's hooves.

"You left this behind, Seestra." Tae whispered, a wolfish grin upon her lips.

Outside, the sound of thunderous hooves caught Tae's attention, but she did not flinch. Instead, were it not for the rustling of the eggs, she might have left to investigate. But something coming out of an egg was simply too familiar to her own origin story, that she moved to the back of the cave, rather than out of it. The eggs were shiny, and flat black. Even in the dim light, Tae could see something moving inside - and the girl was caught by a weird deja-vu. She recalled well how it was when she was inside of her own egg, rolling around and demanding to be freed. So instead of aiding whatever was inside, Tae merely watched.

She had been stronger for freeing herself, and she would not rob this creature of the opportunity to be its own champion.

The inside of the cave was far less interesting than whatever was lurking outside of it. Grusha had the uncanny desire to stick her head out of the mouth of the cave and look. She wanted to know what it was, if it had fur or scales, how big it was, and if it was easy to kill. The wolf mother, however, seemed to have encountered the thing outside of the cave already and that made the girl suspect that the wound on her flank was left by the thing

A wicked little grin curled Grusha's mouth as her sister snagged the squirrel she'd left behind in favor of one of the pups. As soon as she got the little squished body of the tree rat into the cave the larger twin snagged it by the tail. The other carcasses, the rats and the snake, that had been draped across her back lay discarded at the mouth of the cave, having been lost in her attempt at squeezing inside. She would just pick them up later on their way back out after the thing was gone. "Wha d'ya think it ith?" She mumbled her question around a mouthful of the squirrel's furry tail.

She stared at the mouth of the cave and drifted several steps toward it as she heard sounds from outside. Whatever it was it was big and she wanted to see what it was. But Tae's distraction became Grusha's distraction and she turned and ambled toward the back of the cave and stood beside her twin. There, on an old pelt, were two black eggs. Over the echo of the noise from outside she could hear the scratching of claws against the inside of the egg.

Once more the squirrel was dropped, discarded and forgotten for a moment as she positioned herself between the mother wolf and the eggs. Her ears perked forward as she listened to the scratching coming from inside the egg and she began to look for cracks to spiderweb across the surface of it. Like her twin, Grusha would not aid whatever was inside with hatching. Neither of them had help when they were hatched, so why should they help something else?

The thing began to scratch at the opening of the cave. Apparently, it wasn't moving away as the wolf-mother initially thought it was. It had just been biding its time, demonstrating the meager amount of cleverness that it possessed. The litter of pups whined and pressed themselves against Tae and Grusha, haphazardly knocking the eggs around, but not actually damaging them.

"I've got to get them out of here." The wolf softly spoke into Tae and Grusha's mind. Her mental voice sounded old and tired, but there was enough fight left in it to indicate to the girls that she was not giving up. But nor did she plan on dying here, in the dark.

"That magic ... can you do it again?" She asked, her hardened gaze looking towards Tae. She didn't know that Grusha possessed a similar magic, or that when the girls used it in tandem it became much more powerful. For now, all she knew was that the marked twin could provided a distraction so that they could escape.

Her feral eyes were pleading as she looked back and forth between the twins. Something in them seemed just as wild as she - and yet ... she also thought that they might help her.

In the back of the cave, the eggs back to rock even more frantically. The sound of yipping, whining, and pawing could easily be heard - the sounds bouncing off the walls of the cave. Into the world were suddenly birthed two black pups. Their eyes locked upon Tae and Grusha immediately.

"I cannot take them.." The Wolf began as her pups, already frightened, leaped away from the black males and hovered beneath their mother. There was no way she could manage her own litter and the additional orphans and the creature outside.

She now realized she needed Grusha and Tae for more than just a distraction.

Grusha & Tae
If you throw us to the wolves, we'll come back leading the pack

Tae had no problem understanding her larger twin - the smaller filly hadn't even really noticed that there was any oddity in the way Grusha spoke. After all, Ampere was normally yelling, Zero hadn't fully learned to articulate his words properly, and Gaucho was no Shakespaere. That Grusha forced her way through some consonant sounds didn't sound abrasive on Tae's ears at all. And fuck anyone who said that it did.

"Something big." She responded, her eyes bright and ful of eager curiosity. Her eyes were not blue and expressive like Grusha's could be - instead they were vacant, flat-white, and frankly, sort of creepy. But now they glimmered with the possibility of actually finding out.

At least until...

That magic ... can you do it again?

Tae dipped her marked face in response, but said nothing back. So far the wolf had spoken to them telepathically - it was entirely possible that she couldn't actually understand the words Tae might have used. Besides, it was a yes or no question - it didn't actually require anything more than what she offered. Still, a smile spread her bi-coloured lips.

"We both can." She confirmed, looking to Grusha with a devilish smile.

As the eggs began to move in the back of the cave, Tae's white-eyed gaze was directed to the flat black shells once again. Her eyes faltered slightly and slid towards the back of her skull as the mother indicated that she couldn't take care of what was coming out of the egg. Moments ago Tae had wanted a wolf, but as the fears of responsibility fell upon her shoulders, she suddenly wasn't so sure.

That was until..

The eyes of the slightly smaller wolf locked with her own. The pale golden eyes of the baby starred back at her, and instead of barking or flailing about, the creature emitted a low growl - which actually sounded quite pathetic - but which brought a smile to Tae's features.

Oh really? She thought, and instantly felt the swell of bonding as the wolf's mind melded with her own. Her instincts felt amplified, heightened, and hungry

First thing's first ....

"You'll know the distraction when you see it. But ready." Tae advised, forgetting her previous uncertainty about the wolf understanding her.

Locking eyes with her twin, Tae's muzzle broadened into a devilish smile. As excitement flooded through her features, the aspect of her apperance began to bleed away. She looked as though a strong astral wind had suddenly taken hold of her skin, and was bleeding her into the spirit realm. The edges of her body were now a smokey swirl, and she appeared to becoming more and more see through.  This, of course did not bother Tae in the slightest, and if anything, it made her more excited.

What better distraction than a ghost and a walking skeleton?

At the back of the cave were a number of bones and animal hides. Using her magic, Tae scooped up three of them. She haphazardly directed them out of the cave, meaning to, at the very least, get the thing's attention by the mere movement alone. It was then that she focused on melding her magic with Grusha's. Focusing on a pelt that appeared to belong to some sort of smallish bear thing, she infused it with her magic. It rose, but was without form. Her spirit-magic could only act like some sort of coat hanger, holding the thing up. What she needed was Grusha, and what her bear-skin-thing needed, was the pile of bones sitting next to the black pups.

"I wanna thee it." Grusha said to her twin, her eyes shining with morbid curiosity. I wanna see it. I wanna kill it. Her twin would know what she wanted, of that Grusha was confident. The only thing she wasn't confident in was their ability to kill something that seemingly made the ground shake beneath its massive feet. Something that would make a wolf run for cover instead of standing its ground and fighting. Whatever it was it had to be big and it had to be strong and Grusha wanted to dominate it and make it bend to her will.

"That magic ... can you do it again?"

Grusha remained quiet and allowed her twin to speak to the wolf and confirm that they both could help her and her babies escape. Since when had they turned from hunters to heroes? Her eyes locked with her twin's and she grinned back, despite the fact that she wasn't too keen on playing the part of the hero. If she could exercise her magic and strengthen its use she would use whatever chance she got.

The sound of a cracking eggshell made Grusha turn her head back toward the two eggs that had begun to rock back and forth on the dusty old pelt. The shell of the first egg began to fall away and the black wolf that emerged from it stared at Tae. Grusha knew close to nothing about bonding, but she knew that something was happening so she wouldn't interrupt it.

Seconds later another wolf emerged from the second egg, slightly larger than the first. Like the first wolf, it growled and Grusha felt as if something were invading her mind, though the sensation was far from unpleasant. She snorted softly at the growling pup and turned to her twin who had begun to speak to the mother wolf about the distraction that they would provide.

"Don't be thlow." She warned the mother. Grusha's eyes met her twin's and she grinned a devilish grin right back at her. Her own appearance began to shift as the excitement of using her magic, of combining it with her twins flooded her veins. Her skin began to appear as if it were peeling away, leaving nothing behind but the skeleton of a young filly who had appeared healthy and whole only minutes before. She turned from Tae and focused her magic on the bones that lay piled next to the two black wolf pups. They began to shake then rose from the cave floor. Grusha directed them toward the hide that Tae had selected and, beneath the hide, they took the shape of a bear-like creature that they would use to distract the hunter outside of the cave to allow the wolves to escape.

The wolf was about to bristle and snap at the twins - especially after Grusha told her not to be slow, until it happened. Horror, awe, and shock spread clearly and unaltered across the wolf's features as both twins began to ... began to melt. Skin peeled back from the larger, paler twin as if some deathly wind was combing back her skin to reveal the bones under neath. Yet she did not appear to bleed - it was as though she was merely a skeleton draped with skin. And the other one - the other one just seemed to bleed away, like she was nothing more than a spirit that had decided to wear the flesh of a filly for an hour or so.

Just who was she sharing this cave with?

The impulse to snatch up the two newly born block wolves was suddenly strong, however as she looked, she noticed the way the hunger eyes of the wolf pups seemed to seek out the girls. Apparently something in the black wolves found accomplices in the fillies. So she let it be.

She still needed them to get her out.

"I won't." She replied, her voice hard and cold.

The mother picked up two of the slowest cubs in her mouth and readied the other two. As soon as the twins provided a distraction she would be gone.

Grusha & Tae
If you throw us to the wolves, we'll come back leading the pack

Tae's skull-lined face nodded as her twin indicated that the wolf should not be slow. They weren't here doing this out of the goodness of their hearts - and although Tae wanted to see just how her magic fared against whatever it was that was outside, she didn't want to die for her hubris. Tae was perfectly content with bidding her time and increasing her physical and magical abilities. She didn't want to lose just because she was too eager. The girl could be patient ...

With a snarl of satisfaction, Tae watched as their magics combined and the bear-carcass seemingly came alive. It moved and shuffled with poor awareness, but it did move. The sound of its bones - thanks to Grusha - clacked hollowly inside of the cave, and Tae moved aside to let it pass. With one knowing and devilish glance towards Grusha, Tae followed their creation out of the cave, using her magic to grab a few discarded animal pelts along the way.

The hoard of the undead - let by the phantom Tae - bolted from the cave. The filly could barely even see what it was they were fighting until she was nearly beneath it. Although Grusha was much hardier than she was, Tae was fast. The spirit-girl ran circles around a massive foot which appeared to have both toenails and scales. Above her, she heard a terrifying roar but she didn't bother to look up. She didn't need to see its ugly face, what she needed was to keep moving.

"GO." Tae barked towards the wolves. The death-masked girl ran between the monsters legs, while the carcasses and the bear-thing ran the opposite way. She hoped to confuse the creature (who certainly sounded stupid), into not knowing which morsel to follow, and so wasting time deciding.

The thrill of battle broke through her normally calculating exterior and her body appeared to fully bleed away, leaving only a phantom menace in its place. The monster roared curiously and then turned as Grusha appeared - a moving skeleton. Now it truly was confused, and so it decided to try to catch the bear-thing, as that appeared to be the only thing in the glade worth eating.

Grusha & Tae

We are just a word to you, but we are very real and cold;
Cold to all of this
Cold to how you feel
Cold to all your loose reason

The task of getting out of the cave seemed to be easier than getting in, even without her sister pushing against her ass to get her out. It was probably for the best that she exited after the wolves, otherwise she would have held them up too much as she squeezed her way out of the cave. She crawled on legs that appeared to be nothing more than bone and when she finally joined her twin outside of the cave she could finally see what it was that had frightened the wolves so much. It was huge and scaled and all Grusha could think was that its bones had to be massive. There were countless things that they could do with bones the size that this thing possessed. And its hide would be perfect for Tae to use, she knew how much her twin seemed to like scales.

She heard Tae bark at the wolves to go and she turned her skeletal face to watch the mother and her babies scamper away while she and her sister distracted the monster. A feral part of her hoped that the mother would be forever shamed that she'd had to rely on children to save her sorry skin and the skins of her pups.

When the wolves disappeared from sight she looked up at the beast, who was already distracted by her sister and the creature that they'd combined their magic to create. It scampered off after the heap of bones and fur and Grusha heaved a disappointed sigh. She'd thought that the thing that lurked outside of the cave would have been a little smarter and proved a little more difficult to distract. She'd hoped for a challenge, but the thing was too stupid.

"Ith tho thupid." She voiced her opinion to her twin, her skull tilted as she watched the beast hunt their creation. "Think we can kill it? I want ith boneth." Because she could imagine all of the things that she could make out of bones that big. It made her body quiver and she began to follow after the monster that hunted their creation.

Grusha & Tae
If you throw us to the wolves, we'll come back leading the pack

Unlike Grusha, Tae did not hope that the wolf would forever feel shame. After all, even though the twins had only been a part of the world for a few weeks, already they had left their mark. This was merely another instance of how truly powerful they were. They were not just children - they were so much more than that. They were destroyers of lives, and when it suited them, heroes too. But they were definitely destroyers first.

Tae nodded in agreement as her sister noted the apparent stupidty of the creature. The way it stomped around now made Tae think that it was throwing a temper tantrum, rather than posing a real threat. Although, she stood by her previous judgement. Wolves were smart - the now long-gone mother wolf wouldn't have fled for no good reason. Size couldn't be the only advantage this thing had.

Think we can kill it? I want ith boneth

Tae rolled the question on her tongue for only a few seconds before the question was answered for her - one of the creature's massive feet stepped on their bear-creation, and all the bones beneath it crumpled, snapped, and broke like fragile toothpicks. Tae's pale eyes widened. She hadn't expected their creation to be killed quite that easily.

"Not now Seestra. But we can tease it -"

Behind her hooves, the black wolf pup now sat, happily licking the back of her leg. With a wicked grin, Tae spun on her nimble hooves and picked the pup up by the scruff of the neck. Getting a bit of a running start, she spread her dark wings and lifted herself into the air. Catching sight of all the commotion, the creature roared and began to stumble towards Grusha.

Beating her wings harder to compensate for the extra weight she now bore, Tae zoomed towards the creatures mouth. She was nearly as spy in the air as she was on the ground - even with the pup in her jaws - and she flit back and forth, evading the creatures furious paw-swipes and jaw snaps in her general direction.

Grusha & Tae

We are just a word to you, but we are very real and cold;
Cold to all of this
Cold to how you feel
Cold to all your loose reason

Grusha frowned and her eyes narrowed as the giant oaf of a monster stepped on their little creation and smashed it into the ground. ...the hell, man. She snorted her dissatisfaction when the monster moved its paw and she could see the heap of bones and fur that was left. It sucked, but she wasn't going to let what was left of their pet go to waste. Oh, no. She could still use the bones that now had sharp jagged edges on them thanks to the stupid monster smashing it.

Her head tilted as the thing turned and began to come toward her and she couldn't help but that that it was stupider than she had previously thought. Behind the monster the bones began to quiver and shake and the slipped from beneath the hide. Grusha remained still as she manipulated the bones because she was unwilling to let her concentration slip just because a monster was charging at her. She already knew that the bones were lighter than the beast and the pull of her magic would get them to her.

Whether or not Tae knew that Grusha might need a little extra time didn't matter to her. What mattered was that her twin was flying and distracting the ugly thing. "MOVE!" She shouted at her sister, her voice booming as she struggled to be heard over the monster's cries of frustration (she assumed since it couldn't catch Tae). The bones that Grusha had called back from their busted creation hovered in the air long enough for the smaller twin to move and once the path was clear they were hurled at the beast, their pointed, jagged edges aimed for its eyes.

You take my creation I'll take your fucking eyes.
