Nail my soul to the middle of a cross that fills this hole
I never understood the Written Word</style>

Once the healer agreed to aiding her with the ailing ancient bear in the woods Ktulu turned and had immediately begun to lead the healer away from the Throat. There was an anxiousness in her step as she rarely slowed or even stopped for more than just a few minutes at a timde. She want to get to the bear quickly out of fear that making him wait would make him change his mind and not allow her to have the companion she so desired. There was also the niggling fear in the back of her mind that he might die before they got to him. He was old. How long did bears live.

When they reached the forest she pressed on, one ear tilted back to listen for Onni. Ktulu lead the way, striding boldly through the darkening forest. She remembered the way the little fireflies had taken her and she was soon in the same clearing. A little house stood off in the distance, the sight of it made Ktulu stop in her tracks once more, tail twitching from side to side as she stared.

"Ancient bear!" She called. "I have brought a healer to you as you requested."

Darkness.

Just the thought of the inky black of the dark made Onni's skin crawl with negative memories and anxiety. She had never been this far in the forest, where the tall branches blotted out the sunlight and cast an eerie darkness that crept into her very soul. No longer was the mare anxious about the possibility of being eaten by a bear, but more frightened of what could be lurking in the shadows. In the deep recesses of the dark, many things could hide; Isilme had taught her this well enough.

From the corner of her eyes, she could swear there were glimmers of glowering, malicious red.

The painted mare stayed close, keeping Ktulu's white tail clearly in her sights, afraid that if she strayed too far that something would leap out and bite her. The only time the mare had ever thought herself a coward would be now, in this dark in foreboding world. Would she have flinched in the face of a gruesome opponent? The mare thought not, but for some reason this place of eternal night clutched at her heart and turned her back into a frightened filly. The heart, clinging to the horrible memories of her past, was crippling in this case.

The light of the meadow was a welcoming beacon and had Onni any less self control shy might have pushed Ktulu out of the way and jolted forward. Instead, the mare stepped patiently behind the darker unicorn, waiting for her to enter the strange clearing before leaping forth into the glorious rays of the protective sun - the sun, which fed the healing powers she would need.

Glowing yellow eyes blinked from the darkness of a cave as the scent of horse flesh reached carnivorous nostrils. A large, silvered bear limped out of the rocky formation and grunted as he saw that the red and black and white one had returned. Hopefully the other creature was a healer or he would be having a rather large snack. The ancient creature reached out with his conscious, finding that she was indeed a healer.

The monster decided to help himself. He drew from her power without her permission to mend the arthritis in his joins, and when he was done, he felt renewed. With an angry grunt, he jerked his head to the left where a tiny, brown grizzly cub was playing with its feet. The old bear left the scene, followed by thick, mysterious mists. Even the prints left in the mud seemed to have disappeared entirely.

With a small cry, the little grizzly wandered over to the crimson eyed mare and blinked. The bond formed instantly and sharply, pictures moving through each other's mind.

Congratulations on your new Grizzly Bear Companion!
Due to it's carnivorous nature, only the small, stunted creature has allowed your character to bond.
The bear is 2.5ft tall on all fours.
