The world was changing. Always changing. Always moving. Always going forward. The bright leaves of summer fade into various hues of gold and red before transitioning into a deathly shade of brown and fleeing the soon to be slumbering trees. That was where this world currently stood, but soon the air would grow cold and the wind would howl as the bitter rage of old man winter racked the world for months to come. But none of that as really all that important. Everybody knew how the seasons worked around here. That is everybody who happened to be from around here. Which if one listened well enough they could hear the soft foot fall of another and the rustle and crunch of leave as he too moved forward in this realm.

Slowly the coppery bay winged colt traveled through the forest. He did not know this place, and yet he did not care. It did not matter to him that he was completely lost in this bustling big world. It did not matter to him that there were probably things out there in the world that could make a meal of him. It didn’t even matter to him if he ever went back to where he had originally come from.

He was moving forward and would continue to do so until he saw fit.

“Mama tell us to not go far. Papa tell us to listen to Mama,” he started to mutter through clamoring teeth as he was not accustomed to colder weather yet, “They can’t tell us anything. They gone and we are now on our own! We’ll show them! We’ll find a new home where no one will tell us what to and what not to do!”

Little head turns as he looks around to see his surroundings. There were multiple paths before him and he hadn’t a clue which one would be the best to take. Muscles tremble beneath his skin uncontrollably as he stood there debating which one to take. The one to the left, to the right, or straight ahead? His feathered and leathery wings attempted to wrap themselves around his body in an attempt to keep warm, but they didn’t help all that much. Reddish brown eyes peered as of trying to see well beyond his visage but regardless of how much he wished he would see further, he didn’t have super sight. Nor would he ever have super sight. Instead he would just have to either wait until someone found him and told him which way to go or just pick a path at random and hope for the best.

"SPEECH"
NOTES;; no place in particular. Still trying to get a feel for him just an fyi. Oh and he lacks the concept of I so any pronouns he uses will be plural another fyi.

“Mama tell us to not go far. Papa tell us to listen to Mama. They can’t tell us anything."
To be a grown stallion Caenan was rather taken by the young pegasus' declaration. A more responsible adult may have gently reminded the colt that his parents only wanted what was best for the boy but to the son of the sea there was no thing better than granting someone their freedom to explore. Withholding hooves plagued to wanderlust only leads to a wretched illness in the soul. The stallion had witnessed the hollow eyes of offspring ruined by well-meaning, protective, parents.

Caenan used his magic to match his appearance to the age of the colt's then he stepped out to introduce himself. Coming out to stand in front of him Caenan started to laugh, "They gone and we are now on our own! We’ll show them!" What a short lived laugh. The laughter died and his mouth hung agape for a breath. That was not a turn that he had expected. "We’ll find a new home where no one will tell us what to and what not to do!” Now, despite the worry that creased his brow, Caenan laughed heartily. This was a boy after his own heart!

"Findin' a place like that ain't no easy task!" Caenan lowered his voice conspiringly, "Are you up to the adventure of findin' such a place?" Eyes alight with a playful spirit the stallion flashed a grin at the colt.

Caenan felt a protective, brother-like, feeling towards the boy. "Perhaps I could be your mate for such an adventure?" The bay ran his eyes across the body in front of him. He looked for any injuries or signs of ill health. Not satisfied with the little he could see from standing in front of the colt at such a smaller height than what he was used to Caenan walked in a slow circle around the colt. Once he was satisfied he stood at the colt's side. "You look tough. I would pride myself in you being my captain." Caenan was determined to get the pegasus to follow him home. If he had to he would allow the boy to think that he had lead him to the World's Edge on his own.

There were rules in the World's Edge; because as much as Caenan was loathe to admit, rules were required but he would be a friend to the young colt. He would take him exploring and would give him a break from those rules. Even if he had to use his magic every time that they met Caenan would be sure to protect the untainted adventurous spirit he had found. "I am Caenan."

maybe I'm a ghost
just a whisper in a puff of smoke

Ghost travelled by wing as the cold air blew through her mane making her shiver as it got colder the further north she travelled. Having lived in the Dragons Throat for a while now, she had grown quite accustomed to the hotter climate, meaning the closer she got to the snow capped mountains, the more she began to miss her home. Funny, she used to hate the heat, she still did in the height of summer, but now she had adjusted and the coming winter was already beginning to make her feel surly. Feeling the pinch of the freezing air to be getting a little too much, she drifted downwards only to hover over the woodland of the Threshold until eventually she found a clearing and she dived through it, landing gracefully on the forest floor below. A few seconds later she came to a halt, a snort rippling through her nostrils and she shook her whole body as if trying to get rid of the cold. It was warmer between the trees and Ghost welcomed it gratefully.

She stood there until she heard the familiar patter of scrambling paws; Fantôme had almost caught up, so the spy began to move forwards through the claiming grounds. They were heading for the Blood Falls, the beautiful red realm to the north of the Threshold, where everything glittered like rubies and temptation riddled the mind. It was perhaps Ghost’s most favourite place of the new lands and, though she had yet to venture into the Labyrinth, was the one place that had captured her interest.

By now Fantôme trotted beside her, a dead rabbit wedged in his mouth and he looked rather content with it bloodied between his jaws. Ghost’s nose wrinkled in distaste, but she hadn’t chance to complain about it as a pair of voices drifted on the wind with both horse and wolf stopping to listen. The words were… Odd. Adventure? Captain? Kids probably and Ghost wandered over to them to find a yearling with interesting looking markings that almost looked painted on. The other was also a young colt that spoke with such fun exuberance it was hard not to smile at his playful words. She caught his name, Caenan; he was also bay in colour with an oddly shaped horn.

“Can I join on this interesting adventure?” she asked with a half smile as she came to a halt near them and Fantôme sat down beside her, a long pink tongue falling out one side of his mouth.
