Tiva-

The dancer swayed with her small group towards the World's Edge. She didn't really know these two very well, but that never bothered the antlered mare. Speaking of her group there was a very attractive stallion following her every move, or so she thought. The mare turned and winked playfully back at him. He was big boned, leg feathers, and a large set of antlers; handsome. She wondered if he would stick around for a few days. The girl liked to play with her food, a lot more than she really should actually. She smirked and put an extra sway in her step. With all the grace and ease of her dancing the girl switched her train of thought. "Elsa, does anyone else rule along side you?" She had forgotten to ask, not that she really cared. If they didn't like her she would just move on. It wasn't a big deal to her, not really. She had no problem leaving if they wanted her too. She would simply find another herd somewhere else. Someone somewhere would really want her to be with them.

The trees were slowly changing to evergreens and a mist was slowly growing around her hooves. Tiva had no idea if this was the edge or not, but she turned to Elsa ready for a rest if anything. "Are we getting close by chance?" Her voice was warm and musical as she addressed the Queen. What were formalities anyway? Who cares if this lady of pale colors and snow was a royal or not? They all ate and shit the same way. She smiled at her own joke, not caring to share unless asked. Silver eyes gazed around at the tall pine trees. The Orangemoon sun shone down slowly warming her rosy spotted pelt.
Only an open heart will catch a dream...

Elsa,
Feel lucky for what you have, when you have it. Happily ever after doesn’t mean happy forever.

The walk was long, and rather quiet. Tiva and Grimalkin were too very odd souls in her opinion. Both seemed much different than Elsa herself. The man left her on Edge- though it was only because he was a Basin member. The girl… well something about her just seemed odd. The moon did have a very peculiar way of attracting the odd balls.

Finally Tiva broke the silence. She inquired about another ruler. Well, if she was this promiscuous already Tembovu would have no troubles playing on that notion. She grumbled inwardly, but simply offered Tiva a smile. ”Yes. Tembovu is the king here. He’s in charge of the seers, healers, crafters… all the nice stuff.” She shrugged and Edgar peeped in agreement. Tembovu had the brighter side of ruling that was for sure. When all you breathe is violence, only so much happiness can blossom there.

The rest of the walk was silent though, as Elsa moved her way closer and closer to the Edge. The walk would never get old, every time it surprised her how long it took. Normally it was within half a day’s walk. Now it took forever. But finally they arrived, just as Tiva inquired about the closeness. Elsa nodded, pointing her nose over to the broken glass wall. It was still a huge eyesore, but eventually it would be fixed. Hopefully soon if she had any say about it. ”Welcome to the Edge. Ignore the scenery, we are currently undergoing maintenance.” She said with faux enthusiasm. She felt as if she was trying to sell the Edge to this girl.

Elsa led them past the glass wall until they were situated further into the heart of the territory. She stopped, allowing Edgar to hop down as he pecked around it the grass for any bugs that were left in Orangemoon. ”I hope you like it. And if so, we do have positions open for the taking. We are in need of crafters especially- but seer, warrior, healer and stealth positions are all available should you want to hone your skills in a certain craft.” There was no not awkward way to bring up that conversation. This was the best though, compared to her first idea of just being like “Yeah, you gotta do this”. At least this was kind of nice. ”Or of course if you want to wait to be acquainted, that is fine too. We just could always use some help when we can get it.” And finally she fell quiet, looking between the two. Curiosity peaked, wondering if maybe she could sway the other giant to join the Edge. Then the Basin grip could finally be broken, if even for a moment.

Grimalkin
His company was beautiful, to be sure: Tiva, with her earthly tones, her gentle speckles, her curved and sharpened horns; and Elsa, the icy queen, the warrior princess, the pegasus who walked with them. Grimalkin happily followed them, learning the way from the Threshold to the Edge, storing the information within his mind - for who knew when it would be useful to him? He doesn't hide his keen emerald gaze as it focusses on the mares, though he does guard it more whenever he happens a glance at the Queen - he didn't want to step on anyone's toes, cause offence or tension, especially after declaring himself a member of the north - not necessarily the Basin, though he did wonder what conclusions the mares jumped to with his words.

He was surprised to be invited past the ruined wall, and completely within the lands, surprised to be allowed to learn all the intricacies of the herd that Else spoke about so easily - he hadn't even given them his name, only a hint to the place he called home (and even that wasn't entirely the truth). If lying got him this quality of results, why should he ever need to tell the truth?

He nodded along as he heard the information, his façade friendly, his ears perked forward and his eyes bright. "I'm Grimalkin, by the way," he relented against his own deviousness, something like a conscience rising up within him. Perhaps he said it now as a subtle way of pointing out that they had neglected to ask it of him sooner, perhaps he wished to demonstrate the ease with which he had slipped past the borders, a perfect stranger, (a liar), and learned what could be critical information about the herd - they were clearly in need of members, on all fronts. Their wall was weak, if non-existent, Elsa's cry for more crafters was an obvious admission of their lack of environmental defences. Though that did not necessarily mean they were completely exposed - perhaps their army was so powerful, they were confident enough in their warriors to defend them, (but then why was Elsa so desperate for crafters?).

"It is a beautiful land," he mused quietly, letting his gaze roam to the misty forest that surrounded them, twirling his ears at the distant echo of waves crashing against the cliff face that must surround the realm and give it its name.

Head lifted, cobalt eyes slicing through the mist. He had begun to learn how to see in the fog— how to piece together glimpses to fill in the blurry, dark forms. The mist will give it’s secrets to those who know how to ask. And the King, in his recent delving into darkness, had learned much in the shadowy ways of the Lady Moon.

He watched his glowing white Queen leading an antlered duo into the heart of the herdlands. One set beautifully crafted and adorned with blue feathers and beads. The other a handsome set of sturdy and vast bulk. He assumed, partially incorrectly, that both were new herd members recruited by the Icebound. He cannot help but admire the great racks from afar— finding himself, as always, envious of antlers. It was instilled in him from Dorobo to value dial horns; dual horns with that many tines he, naturally, valued greatly.

Long strides carry the Elephant and his great mass towards the two horned and one winged horses. He approached, catching the tail end of the greatly antlered one’s words. “Indeed, it has it’s own beauty,” his low rumble rolled in agreement with the mane, “Welcome to the Edge. I am Tembovu, King alongside Elsa,” his great horn nodded towards the Queen in both deference and greeting. Unknowingly, he echoed the questions of his Queen, “Have either of you a path you wish to follow within the Edge?”

Cobalt eyes, light in their relief of the ease of accepting new members to the Edge, studied each newcomer in kind, face questioning after their names. The woman was slender with white, pupil-less eyes. Her coat was a unique color, a warmed grey, with elegant spots decorating her coat. Certainly unique. His eyes slide to the man, stocky and drafty he surely would be a force to reckon with on a battlefield— if that was his calling. The King would respect those great antlers in a spar, no doubt.

He remained silent, awaiting the answer to his redundant question, tail swaying at his hocks.
He paid for his sins. He was saved.
But some sins haunt us no matter how much we pay.

Solid white eyes watched the pretty Queen as they strode along. Her ears pricked as Elsa answered her question. The name rolled through her head as she walked along quietly. Her feathers swirled around in a soft breeze as her legs started to grow tired. 'I hope we're almost there.' She turned to look at the beautiful bird as she watched it's feathers and heard it tweet in agreement. She wondered what it would be like to have a creature like that. Something that could fly ahead and scout out interesting things, or handsome studs. Speaking of which, the massive stallion walked quietly along with them. She still wasn't sure why he was with them, besides the chance to get to know her better. Her dainty head turned and offered the beast a wink he was every handsome, powerful. Who could deny power, especially when it came in the form of a stallion? She smirked playfully before carrying on.

It wasn't long after her next question that Elsa nodded and pointed at something. There was shiny stuff all long the ground; a wall of glass had once stood tall and strong, or so she assumed. Elsa's next words drew forth a laugh it had to be a freaking blast to fix crap that had been broken for who knows how long. "Everything else is quite beautiful though." She followed the mare quietly taking in the scenery carefully etching it into her brain. After a little while the trio stopped and the bird hoped from his master to peck along the ground. Her head shifted curiously as she watched him and listened to Elsa. Positions were offered to her and she thought silently on them allowing her antlered head to bob softly. "I think I would like the crafter or healer side of things better than a warrior." She smiled thoughtfully at the queen. "Of course I wouldn't turn down a spar, it never hurts to stay in shape." Her long black and cream tail flicked her hocks as she wondered what it was like to fight. She didn't want to be a great lazy lump, and havign some kind of position could only help her out.

As the stallion spoke up she laughed brightly, how had they forgotten to ask his name? "Well, I'm sorry I forgot to ask your name Grim." She smiled teasingly as she nicknamed him, not caring if he liked it or not. Before she could sidle closer to the stallion the sound of hooves and a voice drew her attention away. A massive horned stallion was striding towards them calmly. She grinned and flicked her pretty head sending the feathers swirling and her mane flying to the left side of her neck. She dipped her muzzle low in greeting. 'So this is the mighty king? Very sexy.' She smiled sweetly and battered her long lashes at him. "It's a pleasure sir Tembovu, I'm Tiva. I'm leaning towards becoming a crafter or healer." She looked up and up trying to meet his breathtaking blue eyes with her white. She stood silently allowing the silence to stretch until someone else had something to say.

Elsa,
Feel lucky for what you have, when you have it. Happily ever after doesn’t mean happy forever.

Elsa wasn’t surprised when she listed off the positions she was interested in. Tiva had an aura of gentleness- and that was only reinforced by her words. She was generally surprised though that she wanted to spar- and Elsa raised a brow, looking her over carefully. Maybe they would have to spar sometime. It was always a good way to break the newcomers in. Although she’d have to be careful- she had grown stronger over her time here, and began to notice the pain she could inflict. She tried to walk the thin line between learning and pure pain. The latter she wanted to avoid like the plague.

Grimalkin on the other hand was eerily quiet. Even after introducing himself, he merely mused upon the land of the Edge. Quite frankly, it was beautiful, but that comment was as shallow as a puddle. Generic, pleasing, and at the same time trying to remain civil. She shot him a wayward glance, nodding as he introduced himself. Names were good- at least if he tried to fuck something up she’d know who to go to.

But as fate would have it luck Tembovu arrived. She stayed silent as he introduced himself and did the grand ole job of asking the monotonous question of “what do you want to do”. Eventually she was determined to find another set of words that got the point across but remained civil and uninterested. Don’t want to be looking to excited- especially in the presence of an outsider. You never know what their intentions are.

”Welcome my king.” She said quietly, turning her head to offer him a smile. ”Tiva will be staying with us. Grimalkin lives elsewhere- although of course the invitation is always open if you should find a change of heart.” Her shoulders rose and fell, signaling her gesture toward the mysterious man. He might as well have a fedora and trench coat on. ”If you would like to become a healer- I suggest finding on of the medics. Evangeline or Alysanne is a good bet. If you like crafting- head to Anzanie or Alune.” She fell quiet then, handing over the mic. She was never one to ramble on these things.

Grimalkin
Grimalkin listened, he drank the scene in with quiet observation. Inside, he was revelling in the ease with which he received so much from this herd.

Then the King arrived, and Grimalkin could not help but compare him to the devilish Reaper he knew from up north. Tembovu had his own presence, but it was different - whether those differences were good or bad he supposed time, and the subsequent success or failure of the herd - would tell. This King was gigantic, a tank among horses - Grimalkin was stout with his strength, broad as he was tall, but he certainly wasn’t the tallest amongst those who wandered Helovia's enchanted walls.

Nodding his heftily antlered crown in quiet agreement with the King's words, and then the Queen's as well, Grimalkin let the conversation continue, let the information flow, let his observations hopefully give him something useful.

But, as always, time would only tell whether information like that would be useful - and Grimalkin was ever the patient fellow.

Except when it came to lingering around after a situation became useful, or interesting, to him. And the spotted mare was fast becoming one of those play things that looked so shiny and fabulous at the beginning, but soon lost their lustre and simply became just that - another toy, another play thing, that once used, became tired and boring.

He didn't care for the nickname she blessed him with either way, but proffered a devious smirk at it regardless. He might be bored, a looking for an exit, but he wasn't foolish enough to burn all the bridges he crossed so that there was never a chance of returning.

"Thank you for the offer," he said to the Queen, swinging his gaze around to include the King as well, before looking to Tiva and allowing it to settle for a moment too long, weighted with meaning he wondered whether she would be able to read. "It is time for me to return to the northern reaches - the land becomes quite treacherous once Frostfall truly sets in, so I best be off." He swept those emerald pools across the gathered once more, taking silent notes of everything as he did so, before bowing his great crown to them, and allowing the mists and shadows to swallow him up. Finding his way out of lands with care, he kept to his word for once - and headed north.

Grim's out!

A lopsided smile crossed his face as Elsa greeted him quietly, gaze lingering on her until they swept to the words of Tiva. Her smile was as suggestive as the fluttering of her lashes, and he cannot help the growing of his grin as she looked up into his eyes, “The pleasure is mine, Tiva.” Though, rather promptly, he swept the grin from his face, an ear flick towards his Queen betraying the sudden guilt at his brief indulgence at harmless coquetry.

And his eyes swung back to Elsa as she continued to speak of those she should seek out for both healing and crafting. He merely nodded mutely in agreement, not quite trusting his words to not to place him in trouble.

Though the lighthearted-ness of his thoughts was quickly swept away as the heavily antlered man spoke, revealing that he lived in the North. Something uneasy stirred in the King— perhaps it was him using the word “treacherous”— as he merely nodded his own great head in farewell. Dark navy eyes watch his departing back. He did not echo Elsa’s offer of residence to the man, finding it unsavory that the man had travelled so deep into the Edge without any intentions of residing there. A small frown creases the corners of his eyes as he turns back to the two mares, “My Queen is more than capable of showing you the Edge and answering any questions you might have. Welcome, Tiva.” A brief smile before he drifted in the direction of Grimalkin’s disappearing form, ensuring that the stallion did, indeed, leave their borders.
He paid for his sins. He was saved.
