Merialeth

Merialeth cut her eyes at Carl, the llama, as she ducked a glob of spit he sent speeding towards her. Whenever the girl explored her mother sent her companion to watch over her. The llama was not a beast that initially brought forth a sense of intimidation in others but he had an attitude that was quick to change first impressions.

Ignoring Carl's way of saying 'no, do not do that' Merialeth stepped closer to the edge and craned her neck to look down a lively waterfall. Not satisfied with what she could see the girl knelt so that she could see her found prize a little better. Sitting on a rock that stuck out from the side of the waterfall there was a circlet. If Carl would help her they might be able to find a way to reach it!

Merialeth turned her head to motion him closer to look too but just as she turned he spat once more. A glob of spit landed on the filly's forehead. She knew the look in Carl's eyes meant she was in trouble. Merialeth was sure that he would tell her mom. Getting up she walked over to him with a pout dominating her features. The water would get the pretty thing.

It could hardly be considered a surprise that December had her companion trailing little Merialeth. Even Eliana had the tendency to check on the filly on her own accord - the night dark bird spent so many of her moments soaring between the ever wandering Miykael and little Merialeth that she hasn't slept much (and she only hunts when the girl is finally asleep, which ultimately cuts into her own sleep time). Yet, she loves every minute of it. The silver eyed bird can't ignore or hold back her fondness of the young girl. Little Merialeth, it seems, has completely upended the small family's lives and they only adore her more for it.

Miykael didn't wander so far anymore. In fact, through his connection with Eliana, he is able to remain close to his little princess without her being able to see him. He knew when Merialeth wandered up to explore one of the waterfalls and he couldn't help but to cringe when Eliana told him what she was doing. December, he knew, would have had a heart attack if she'd witnessed it herself. Miykael wasn't quite as concerned but he certainly isn't the type to disregard December's feelings or belittle her in any way for her behavior with their child. She is Meria's mother, after all.

Eliana's keen silver eyes spy the object of Meria's attention just as the filly pulls herself out of a potentially compromising position, and mentally relays the information to Miykael. 'Shiny thing on rock out of waterfall. Baby can't reach.' and a brief pause flutters between them before they both reach the same conclusion. Eliana doesn't even have to speak before Miykael sets off into action. On the ground, he lopes towards the base of the waterfall - the one he knew his daughter was currently exploring - and once he was near enough he unfurled his large white wings. Flying forward and upward, the stallion alters the position and angle of his wings in order to hover beside the small rock ledge holding the circlet. It is a rather difficult maneuver, but the reward greatly outweighs the risk. With great care and focus, the stallion gingerly reaches forward to grasp the circlet in his teeth. Once the object is secured, he changes the angle of his wings to thrust himself up and land gracefully not far from Merialeth.

Miykael whinnies warmly to his daughter, hoping to catch her attention. He then offers her a bright smile as he folds his wings to his sides. Tucking his left front leg, the stallion lowers himself into a full bow before straightening once more and moving forward to place the circlet delicately upon her head. "You seem to have lost your crown, princess." his voice is playful and regal when he speaks and his blue eyes are filled to the brim with his joy and silent laughter. Oh, how he so enjoys being a father.

And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?

Merialeth

A delighted squeal came from Merialeth she did not know how she knew but his wingbeat was one that she recognized! The girl stuck her tongue out at Carl before blowing her own spit bubbles at him. She did not get the same satisfaction of watching it slide down the target's face but surely he got her point. Feeling as though she had put the llama in his place Merialeth turned and pranced towards her father. The foal had no doubt that he would understand her dilemma.

"You seem to have lost your crown, princess." Merialeth danced in place as her father crowned his princess. If she had the words she would have told him that he was her prince and mom was a princess too (even if Merialeth wanted to be his favorite princess) but surely the girl's expression said that itself. Despite her frustration over not being able to make the same sounds as everyone else she was coming to find that those sounds were not needed for all things.

Merialeth was delighted with her new--crown! That was what her father had called it. It was too big and sat crookedly on her brow but it was of no consequence to the filly. In celebration she ran in a few tight circles around her sire before coming to a halt to laugh and hug him. Affectionately the girl nibbled on his mane.
