maybe I'm a ghost
just a whisper in a puff of smoke


It was sometime in the afternoon that Ghost returned to the Dragons Throat and the winter sun hung low in the sky, making it difficult for navigating whilst flying. She landed smooth enough, however, back onto the homely sand and she slowed her landing pace back to a gentle walk. Her wings hung heavy at her sides and she leaned slightly to her right as her obscenely heavy pocket watch weighed her down. It was safe to say that the Cadaverous was tired after her mission and she let out a long sigh of relief; at least she had succeeded. After all this time of hiding behind the scenes and worrying that perhaps, just maybe, she might have lost her edge, but the spy had completed her task and she felt a small load of stress lift from her conscience. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, held it and let it go. Ghost was not at peace with herself, there were still many battles still on going with her inner thoughts and, for a long time, she really felt like letting it drag her into the melancholic abyss. Today, however, she buried her joyless thinking that threatened to break her façade of steel and reminded herself that the mission was not over.
 
Yes, she had retrieved the item from the girl who had so carelessly thought she could leave the Sun’s lands with the key to his house. Now, it needed a new owner.
 
With Fantôme trailing behind, Ghost slipped the key from its hiding place in the red head band that was wrapped around her leg and, with it placed firmly between her teeth, she began to look for a young colt that might need it more than she. Her cloven hooves carried her tired body mercilessly; her mind was trained towards her sole goal of finding the boy, in desperate hope that it would keep her from returning to the gloomy thoughts that plagued her every day life.
 
Once she had found him, the Cadaverous offered him the key that would open the bridge so he might come and go freely.
