Half amused, half concerned eyes watched the retreating forms of d’Arcy and Calor. The young red filly and young mahogany stallion. Though d’Arcy was Nyx’s daughter, he had at one point believed her to be his own. And he had been there for her birth… So it was a strange attachment that he had to her, and her twin brother.

Once the youth’s oddly paired haunches faded into the mists into the general direction of South towards the Rotunda, his eyes drifted back to Raeden. The pale, golden beauty was admirably quick and vicious to defend the Edge. Though she had claimed no proclivity towards fighting— in fact, she seemed to hold more propensity for stealth, if he recalled from the meeting and from Iona.

It was these thoughts that made an onyx brow rise as he studied the bright teal eyes that peaked out from silken ivory tendrils of forelock. The smallest of lopsided smiles crooked his broad muzzle, “I’d no idea you were so protective, Raeden,” his warmly amused voice rumbled into the mist between them.

Suddenly he shifted, haunches swinging away so that his broad chest was facing the beautiful woman. Though she was smaller and slighter than he (many were), he still felt a sudden urging in his barrel. It was a reprieve from the layers of guilt, doubt, and apprehension that plagued him.

It was a need for battle. A refreshing crossing of blades against one without wings. Against a woman who was keen to protect the Edge. “Is your horn as sharp as your threats?” His grin grew full-fledged as his neck bowed, corded muscles bunching and inviting her to show him that she meant the fierce words she had thrown at the intruder.

Spar for @Raeden follow this thread. So it's maybe late morning/midday in the forests at the borders of the Edge with moderate amounts of mist.
Feel free to make the first attack! And I'm fine with both magic & companions, if you are!

Ocean like eyes watched the red girl and the pain in the ass boy walk away from them. Raeden knew what it was like to want to be trusted, and out on her own. She always wish that Ru would not be stuck up her ass. Then again she would miss her when she was gone. A smile dripped across her maw as the pair wondered out of their sight. Then her attention was drawn back to her king.

The Elephant king stood tall and proud as the pair looked into each-others orbs. His eyes were warmer and deeper than her own. Raeden held a spark in her gaze that the silver flecks attributed too. A warm smile turned into a devious grin as the King spoke his deep words. The mare was very protective over not just her land, but her family. She would not hesitate to slaughter and skin someone; if they hurt the people she loved. Well when all you have is your sister you learn to be protective. What can I say I love my home and my family. Pale shoulders shrugged softly with a small wink from her left eye.

Her frame was much small than his, and she lacked the muscle of a stallion. His large thick horn towered way above her body. His thick spiraled crown was built more for combat, than her own dainty crown. Even though it might look like he has the advantage over the two. She had her own set of skills that could possibly take down this giant. Her frame was much lighter, making it easier to move quickly away from attacks. Pale hooves could carry her toned body much faster than the Elephant. Elephants were made for strength, not speed and agility. He would wear out very easily. Raeden on the other hand could run circles around him.

The Elephant King’s voice shifted into something that she had not heard from his maw. He tempted her with a spar. Asking if the girl’s horn was as sharp as her threats. The light color of her brow raised with a smirk to the king. Raeden dipped her crowned skull, and satin laced words spooled from her maw Want to find out my King? Her skull tilted to the side with a smile, and a sharp horn pointed straight for his chest. Cream hooves did not move; instead she looked to Tin with a smile. In the blink of an eye the pair was nowhere to be seen. The deer like creature camouflaged them so they could move around unseen by others. The echoes of her steps rang though the woods, but it was hard to place their exact location. Dancing across the ground the pair stayed next to each other, and they moved in closer to the king. Light colored hooves launched the Sleuth’s body towards the left side of the stag. Tin on the other hand took the right side. They both aimed to scrape the sides of the beast. Her head tilted slightly to the right as she aimed to just slice his left side. She only wanted enough to show him how sharp her horn really was. Tin tilted his skull to the left as they ran past the beast. He hoped to scrape his right side. If Tin didn’t scrape him, he would at least try to catch him with his antlers. If the king tried to jump away from her invisible attack; Tin would be lurking next to him. Unicorn and Companion moved like a wave filled with spikes towards the king. Raeden looked to Tin when they were finally able to see each other again. Tin’s deer skull nodded making the pair visible. Her pale body moved quickly to try and avoid any counter attacks. The mare knows that she can’t avoid them all, but she will try. When she was finally able to turn back around, teal eyes watch the Elephant King like a hawk. The pale vixen hoped to see bleeding side on the beast. A smirk dripped across her maw Give me all you got… . Her words dared the stallion to mess with her, and if he did he better be ready.

Navy eyes watched the slight shrug of her slender shoulders as she answered him, speaking of familial love and her sister. His silvered buckskin hide instinctively rippled as her assessing blue eyes travelled over it and his own muzzle quirked up in response to her lovely smirk. Navy eyes dropped to the sharp, opalescent horn point aimed at his broad chest. The lilt of her voice as she questioned him stirred something deep in his barrel, but before he could react to any masculine urges, shock replaced them when the pale palomino and her bright companion disappeared before him.

Cloaked in magic, the noise of his opponents’ moves bounced between the trees. Black-rimmed ears swiveled and twitched, trying to locate his sleuth; great skull drew up, navy eyes widening in vain as they tried to see the unseeable. Nostrils flared, but scent told him only that the deer and mare were close. It did not reveal their positions.

And so the King was helpless to prevent the sudden, light scraping of skin on his sides. The many tines of Tin’s antlers barely rose high enough to scrape along the bottom of his barrel, leaving annoying welts more similar bug bites than battle wounds. Raeden’s sharp horn, however, left a thin, shallow slice through his thick hide that traced along the back marking of his barrel. The wound was bright white, at first, against the onyx marking, but quickly switched to red as blood slowly welled from broken vessels in his skin.

A harsh snort pushed out his nostrils, but it was overwhelmed by Mbwene’s infuriated trumpet. Indeed, the small pachyderm that had been hovering behind the King immediately charged the cerndyr the moment his camouflage lifted, despite the mental commands of Tembovu for her to stay out of the fight. She was still a calf! Her young skin could easily be ripped by the Tin’s sharp tines. But, with ears waving and small tusks brandished, the tiny matriarch ignored her bonded and tried to catch the deer off-guard with her charge.

The King, likewise, tried to catch his opponent off-balance as his haunches immediately bunched and lashed out towards the source of Raeden’s horned attack— to his left. Though she was still cloaked by Tin’s magic and his double-barrel kick was blind, his broad hooves and giant hind end covered enough area for him to hope that he’d land a blow on the invisible woman.

“Good, Raeden,” his words came out on a grunt, exhilarated despite the sluggishly bleeding wound on his side, “I didn’t know you could hide in plain sight.” A roguish grin plastered on his muzzle.

The scrape of her horn ran down the towering beast’s side. A smile dripped across her perfect maw like a sweet thick honey as the sharp edge dug at his right side. The warm crimson liquid tainted the spiral horn and dyed it bright red. Cream hooves carried her in a slow motion like feel past her king. The warm blood slowly trickled onto her white gold tresses. Crimson tones tainted her soft forelock and Teal eye looked to them for a moment. It was the blood of another creature on her own body. This was the substance of life, and what pumped through her own veins.

In the moments of distraction she never saw the hooves flying at her. The massive rear legs felt like he kicked with all his might towards the pale gold sleuth. Luckily her slim body had moved her in the position to protect her crowned skull. The hooves smacked her right ribs with a loud thud. He hit her before she could even turn around and face him again. She felt the ribs start to bruise and her breathing felt a tad shallower. The Pain made the mare gasp as she looked at the beast. His body was so much larger than her own, so she had to play her advantages. Teal eyes flicked to see Tin look back at her. Then a small gray blur appeared out of the thick brush. Her maw frowned as a command ran from her mouth to her small companion.
Stand down Tin! Don’t you hurt her! The words snapped as the little creature got closer and closer to the deer. Tin nodded his head and sprinted through the thick brush to lure the elephant away from the spar. His blood red body leaped over bushes watching to see if the little elephant would follow.

Raeden did not let this moment of time take her attention away for too long. She sharply looked over the thick body of the Elephant King. Did you like that trick Tebby? I can show you a few things you didn’t know. She chuckled lightly with a seductive grin creeping across her maw. Teal eyes sparked with silver accents, and cream hooves carried her body forward once again. Her body moved quickly towards the left side of the king. Her eyes were set on his shoulder, and her bloody horn pointed straight at him. If she wanted the mare could try to impale the left side of his neck, but she had different plans. Cantering straight towards his left side she planned her move. When Raeden thought she was close enough to attack; her velvet maw lunged forward. She was trying to take a nice little chunk out of the king’s shoulder. Raeden was going to try and prove that her bite, was worse than her bark.

The solid connection of his ivory hooves against Raeden’s slender, pale golden sides sent a jolt of satisfaction shuddering up through his legs and haunches - at least he had not lost all his skills on the battle field. It would be sad day, indeed, when the old Elephant General would retire from sparring (though he could not help but think that day may come sooner rather than later, as a niggling concern for Raeden’s ribs followed closely on the heels of his satisfaction). Ears flicked backwards to catch the subtle change of her labored breathing in response to his kick— though, more importantly, he heard her snap at Tin to leave the charging Mbwene alone.

Though his elephant calf might need to feel the sting of battle wounds in order to heed any of the King’s future warnings and commands, his soul was tied to closely with her own and his paternal instincts roared too loudly in his skull to allow such consequential realizations to come to fruition. So it was with relief that his navy eyes left his gleaming, beautiful opponent to find the colorful deer disappearing into the trees. The cerndyr avoided Mbwene’s clumsy and youthful charge, drew the enraged calf further into the Edge’s thick forest, and led away from the unicorn’s battle.

His head snapped back to the ever-alluring sleuth’s suddenly seductive voice and equally captivating smile, her thickly lashed teal eyes shamelessly traveling over his frame (a frame with muscles that were sadly soft from disuse). Though his tongue seemed in perfect working order as it had seen more exercise than his once battle-hardened brawn. And his ears, they swiveled and twitched at the play of her words—an enticing distraction to the stallion’s mind, and an effective one. What other things didn’t he know about the surprise-laden Raeden?

And this lull, this brief and sensual distraction, allowed the woman’s shockingly swift movements to bring her in close quarters to his already lightly injured left side. He tried to duck to his right, away from the mare’s advancing sharp horn and lunging teeth, but she was already too close and had too much momentum. He succeeded only in a half-step to the right with his forehand before her gaping jaws closed on the thick, meaty muscle on his shoulder - just behind the line of his withers.

A low groan rumbled in his chest and pushed out of his now pain-flared nostrils, as her teeth grabbed and ripped at the hunk of flesh at the juncture of shoulder and barrel. The woman’s mouth now held more bite then pleasing purr as skin and flesh parted, leaving a ragged wound that briefly stole his breath. Mottled muscle and fat screamed as it became exposed to air, blood quickly and eagerly welling and overwhelming the wound. Red stained his ivory coat as the wound leaked down his heartgirth.

His body screamed at him, and he obeyed its demands, swinging his massive frame away from her attacking body. His haunches swung to his right while his shoulders bowed right and tried to pull away from her vicious teeth. He curled his thick neck hard to his left, towards the woman’s body that had approached his left side and had put them in a t-like formation when she attacked. His own, large teeth bared and his thick, sharply-spiraled horn aimed to return some likeness of flayed skin to her own left side. Though his awkward angle didn’t allow the full force of his mass or muscle to drive his attack.
