"The secret grove; after midnight"

Had been Tilneys whispering words to his beloved. When he left her side that morning he promised to meet her among the willow trees and loons, far away from any prying eyes. Thier relationship and the sweethearts they resembled was probably more then obvious to the rest of the herd, but Tilney didn't mind that; He was quite in love and his feelings were only getting stronger. Nothing could take those feelings or ruin his happiness (unless of course if Arah, the very reason for his happiness, was snatched away). In the following days and weeks since his return Tilney had made an incredible comeback; Fat and muscle had returned to his baroque build, and while his coat still looked quite worse for wear his overall appearance had improved drastically. No longer a shadow of his former self at least; now the moon doctor at least resembled it.

Daydreams took up most of his day in the greenhouse; he had been meaning to begin the propagation of some young oak cuttings all day but never got around to it. Slowly wandering at a snails pace, dreaming about potential scenarios for the romantic escapade he had organised was all he had done for most of the day.

the bronze boy left (and arrived) far too early, but Tilney was quite convinced waiting a few hours would be much more agreeable than being late. He chose the horn of a small bay in the lake, creeping through the curtain of willow branches to reveal a perfect space to view the lake. It took some time, but Tilney carefully edged his lantern off of its rung on his lofty antlers and onto a high branch to illuminate the area, then settling underneath it at the willows trunk. The dappling light peaked out from behind each leaf, backlighting the dome of foliage Tilney lay under; He would not be hard to find at all.

She came.
For him she always would.

Having sent Wynter away for the night she carried on alone, his whispers and words still fluttering in her stomach. Tonight she'd traveled light, none of her trinkets accompanied her, only her ruby pendant bumped at the base of her throat. While there was little urgency in her pace it was excitement that spurred her on. A secret rendezvous underneath the willows of the grove? It sounded awfully romantic, a time for just them to fully embrace each other. Ever since he'd returned Arah had wanted him to focus on getting better and enjoying being home. But now that he was home and willing to even travel from The Edge perhaps he had the strength for their relationship. Arah had never felt this way about someone before. This was really love, she knew it! The way her heart and mind reacted to his presence. The way she wanted to be in his thoughts and in his sight and of course Tilney infiltrated her thoughts. A smile curved her lips as she arrived at the Secret Grove, her eyes seeking out the face of the one she knew so well. A gentle breeze stirred and just for a moment she spied a flicker of light in the distance. It wasn't a particularly bright light - small and warm. Welcoming. Undoubtedly that was him.

Sucking in a deep breath she paused for a moment, her mind rushing through each of the possibilities. Unashamedly the silver doe had come with her heart on her sleeve, there was much she wanted to be said and moments that needed to be had. Wanting to be with someone was only natural, a need to be held and loved. The want for someone to give you their undivided attention even if it was only until the sun rose and life returned to normal. Although she was nervous, she was also eager. It made for an interesting combination of emotions swirling in her stomach. Ridiculous as it was. It was Tilney that waited for her, not a stranger.

Hooves started again as she began to make her way over to him. Somewhere concealed behind the willows lurked her chosen partner. It was no longer excitement that drove her, now it was something deeper. She took another breath, knowing hat just behind the foliage he lurked. Once her almost silent hooves had crept through the curtain of willow branches to reveal a perfect space to view the lake. He had chosen the horn of a small bay in the lake, her golden eyes surveyed it after she'd slunk through the drooped vines and leaves. The light was, as she'd suspected' being cast from his lantern, her eyes were drawn to the foliage that it lit. She smiled at the way he'd settled it at the base of the beautiful willow tree, the warm yellow and orange colours leaked out and stained their surroundings. Creating a romantic backlight for Tilney, she'd not struggled to spot him. "Hello stranger." There was no nervousness in her voice, it was the usual musical tones. The moment she'd seen him all worries and doubts about tonight and why he'd summoned her here had melted away. Now, to Arah, the only thing that mattered was the stallion before her. Offering him a shy smile she drew closer, elegantly bending her neck to reach out in an offered greeting.

The bronze lad waited almost completely restlessly, pacing around the circumfrence of the willow tree chamber. Spending time picking lillies to decorate their private retreat was all he could do to pass the time; Stargazing was impossible as Tilney could hardly sit still enough, and braiding the willow branches was not an option either; For once in his life he was far to impatient to do anything. Restlessly the young man waited for his maiden, finally settling once again beneath the willow. Tucking each hoof in snuggly under her roots, Tilney began to doze off as the night took a hold of him.

Hoofbeats aroused him from his peaceful slumber, and soon the chestnut boys flaxen lashes were fluttering over his bright and alert gaze. At first he was worried a predator would soon be upon him, but then he recognised those pitter patters - he could pick her footfalls in a crowd of thousands. When the sounds bordered the willows curtain of branches, Tilney let a low bumbling nicker escape his lips to welcome her to the tiny chamber he had found.
"Hello Stranger"

She always spoke so confidently, even when she was not feeling so confident. It made Tilneys grin fade in the slightest, his eyes turning from a look of happiness to that of desire and passion. Without a word he stepped forwards to embrace his ivory princess, his fierce jowl gingerly sweeping over her neck. Nose reaching for hers Tilney listened for her heart, her breath, just her presence. "I'm glad you came" was his whisper, keeping his muzzle next to hers. The idea of loosing contact with her unsettled him slightly; he didn't ever want to let go.

She follows the sound of the nicker, a smile pulling at the corner of her chops. It;'s the sound of both her heart and home. Although when the two had become different she could not say, all she did know was that things where once again returning to how they should be. Whole. One completing the other. Emerging into the tiny chamber that he'd found, her gold orbs studied his body, face, antlers. Every inch, pleased to see that he looked much healthier and happier. It was immensely comforting to know that he would eventually be completely recovered from his escapade that had left him badly wounded and in desperate need of a healer. Now, looking at him, this was the stag that could handle her. The stag that could protect her.

Swallowing he nerves she kept her eyes trained on him, her was her strength and place of peace. His scent was enough to calm the swirling tide rising within her chest. It does and even demesnes leaving only excitement and eagerness to hold him. These feelings only growing stronger as the look in Tilney's eyes change, they way he looked at her. Within the emerald eyes desire and passion burned, heating her own blood in a reaction to him. Without a word he stepped forwards and embraces, and she holds onto him. With each passing moment she soaks up his heat, his scent. Over her neck shivers run, soon spreading to cover her entire body. His touch urged such a section from her, his fierce jowl gingerly sweeping over her neck. As his nose reached for hers, she complied, completing the touch and bringing things into a full circle. There they stand, listening to each other's pounding heart, deep breaths and battering eyelashes. His voice makes her smile widen, his whispered words were warm against her already burning skin.

"You doubted?" Her own whisper shakes only it is not was nervousness anymore. Now there is a primal need within her, wanting him and only him. "Always Tilney, I will always come for you." It was a promise, not just for secret rendezvous underneath the secluded willows but also for battles under the open skies. Tonight sealed her need to be with him, from now she was his. She was his. Strange to give yourself over so completely to the other but Arah trusted him with her heart and with her soul. "I want..." Her voice trembles away, not shy but unsure of what words would portray her inner desires. Her heart flutters in her chest, her breath shorter and slightly quicker.

It was easy though, to complete that sentence.
It wouldn't be elegant, beautiful or romantic like she would have liked. Yet it would be honest. Looking up she smiles lovingly and passionately. "You."

The shivers echoing over each of his ribs was just one of the countless foreign sensations the young stallion felt. Every breath was accompanied with an exhilarating jolt to the spine; it caused his steps to become more fluid, his tail swishing and neck arching as he breathed gently against his porcelain doves nostrils. For a few moments he could understand why so many went mad over mares, why so many brutes disregarded a faes wishes and had their deceitful way with them. These sensations were truly indescribable, nothing he had ever felt at any other time in his life.

"I want...."
"...you"

The doves whispers only elevated his desire.
Here the lovers stood under a weeping willow, away from any prying eyes. A perfect secret rendezvous. Tilney had no real intentions for coming here this night, only perhaps he wished time could freeze and they could spend forever under this perfect willow. Not only was the night theirs, but they belonged to each other. His chestnut hide burned with desire and every seering touch it made with that of his ivory lass. At first he could only sheepishly stand beside her, fearful he might lose control of his emotions or his tongue, maybe even his body?
Gradually he inched his bodice closer until his skin rested against that of the ice princess, the prince of the sun trailing his muzzle down her spine.
It was only then, as his emerald gaze found hers of bright, perfect amber, did his intentions begin to turn. Was it time to consumate their courtship? Become a truly mated pair?
Biology was taking lead.
