The young filly had not been with Ashamin and his band long, but already felt happier. She missed her family, her mother and father and her herd. Her wings, so much larger than the young filly, were clutched tightly against her sides. Her dark head lowered down to the grass beneath her hooves. She began to nibble at the grass, enjoying the tender shoots. Curved ears pricked as she heard the faint gurgle of a river. The blue roan spread her wings, stretching them to get the stiffness out of them from lack of use since she really never used them except to keep herself warm and for balance. Bright teal eyes watched around the meadow before she picked up her hooves and began to move towards the source of the sound.

Her hooves picked up as she moved in a gentle trot towards the river's sound. Ink and ivory wings had been clutched back against her sides but were spread slightly to aid in balance should she start to tumble. White legs trotted in unison since they were on a diagonal from each other. The sound of the gurgling of the river grew louder and louder as she drew closer to the river. Curved ears were still facing forward as she moved ever closer. Upon reaching the river, the blue roan slowed her pace to a walk. Hooves reached the edge of the river, and teal blue eyes peered into the clear water. Picking up her front leg with the white sock, the filly cautiously placed it into the water. She slowly waded into the river one hoof at a time, wings lifting slightly to keep them from getting wet.

Lifting a hoof slowly out of the water, the filly began to gently splash at the water. A smile lit her face as she did so. Rearing up to take both front legs out of the water, she also lifted her large wings up higher to keep them dry. Both front hooves splashed at the surface of the river, a giggle escaping the young filly. It had been so long since she had had a reason to laugh and play since the death of her parents. Her teal eyes flashed with amusement as she played in the water like a foal should do.

Chaska slowly reached the crest of a large grassy hill. The golden stallion surveyed the valley before him until his eyes caught movement. He squinted slightly and reached out with his thick neck making out the splashing figure to be the petite roan filly that had recently been found by Ashamin and himself.

She had joined Ashamin's band while Chaska had comforted the terrified and lonely foal when she had lost her family. The stallion never asked her about her past, he was not going to push the young horse to share hurtful memories. He figured she would talk when she was ready.

Nevertheless, Chaska had grown very fond of Gemini since her arrival. His lips pulled back into a bright smile as he watched the filly splash and play. The tension in his shoulders, that he didn't know he had, released as he observed her carefree actions. This was how a young horse should grow up, free of fear and stress. The sabino male tossed his head of and reared, striking out his ebony hooves at the crisp mid morning air, before he whinnied a greeting the Gemini.

Chaska's feet barely touched the ground as he bolted down the hill just long enough to build momentum to jump gracefully into the air and unfold his black and white molted wings. With one massive flap of his plumage he was completely airborn. He soared just above tree level through the clear meadow. He would flap his outstretched wings rarely as he road the thermals to conserve energy, just as his mother had taught him. His long midnight mane and tail slowed behind him like banners as he soared slowly through the air.

Chaska circled the teal eyed filly a few times before he began to lower himself back to earth. His features were bright and friendly as he came closer and closer to Gemini. His outstretched limbs were just passed the sandy shore when he suddenly turned his wings diagonal and forced them in slightly. The sudden action caused him to come to a immediate halt and large frame to push a wall of spray to fall upon the roan filly.

As he allowed his wings to fold atop his back, because the water was barely reaching his chest, he chuckled. "Hello Gemini, I seen you down here splashing in the water and figured I would join you. I hope that is alright?" he said with his blazen face tilted slightly. He could really look at her now and liked what he was seeing. Her ribs were no longer prominent against her blueish coat as there were only a few weeks ago and her coat was getting a brilliant shine to it. The filly's teal eyes were longer dull and fear filled. They were bright and radiating happiness.

"A promise means EVERYTHING. But once it is broken, sorry means NOTHING."

Ashamin

The bright day began with Hé’s company and only improved from that point on. Ashamin led the spotted stallion confidently out of the threshold and towards the Thistle Meadow that rested in the heart of the land, assuming that the newcomer might want a safe and verdant place to rest after the journey, which only needed continue a little longer. With every passing landmark that the Clovenheart knew came a story; he chose to turn south and take them through the path where the Deep Forest turned into the Green Labyrinth, in the hopes that, with his poor sense of direction, they wouldn’t get too lost in either place. Still Ashamin told of the Deep Forest’s eternal darkness and often strange happenings, and of the way that the Green Labyrinth had been thrust into their land. When night fell, when they stopped to rest, Ashamin spoke of the Goddess of the Moon while Lochan, perhaps out of worry, travelled farther and faster to meet the Clovenheart (who, given his nocturnal habits, stayed awake for much of the night.)

It was only when the sun rose again that Ashamin encouraged them to continue on. Lochan was introduced as a second companion, who’d come from north in the Blood Falls, near the Hidden Falls and Aurora Basin, herd lands ruled by the Gods Earth and Spark. He led them to walk where the earth turned to sand and the flats could be seen in the distance, let his long tail extend like a banner to draw the missing horizon, and spoke of the Sun God’s gifts that reigned over the days.

And so the journey went on in that fashion until they reached the thistle meadow, where the trees did not gnarl or block out the sun but provided comfort, and where the river ran through like the land’s essential vein. Perhaps Ashamin would have said more than "here we are" if not for the sight that appeared before them next.

Above, Chaska flew by with the same grace and power that Ashamin had once admired in Einarr. It was a pleasure to see the stallion again, and given that their last meeting had been in this very meadow Ashamin wondered if it was Chaska’s preferred spot. "Come, this way," Ashamin said to his new friend and companions with a quick nod towards the direction the sabino had flown. There was no hesitation in his movement, and he burst into a quick trot, feeling renewed despite his lack of sleep.

Beyond the trees the river revealed itself, and safe beside Chaska was the little filly Gemini, whom Ashamin had welcomed into the Unbound not long before. "Chaska, and Gemini!" he called out to them, a warm smile spreading across his features as he drew closer to the water. It was not deep, and both seemed to be keeping their wings dry, but given the heat Ashamin wouldn’t mind cooling off in the river. Lochan and Rakt did not wait for permission before bounding forth and throwing themselves wholly into the cool wet, kicking and lowing as they went.

"It’s good to see you looking so happy, young Scout," Ashamin said to Gemini when he arrived at the shore. He turned back to look at the newcomer then, and beckoned Hé with a smile that suggested he need not be nervous. "I’d like you both to meet Hé, he is the newest addition to the ranks of The Unbound, and your new ally in these wilds,” Ashamin introduced as he stepped closer to Gemini and offered her his cheek. Hopefully this time she would not be so scared and might accept the greeting.

It was hot anywhere here in Helovia especially for those foolish enough to dare and fly closer to the big ball of fire otherwise known as the sun. While normally she had better sense than to fly on such a hot humid day she didn't have the patience for the amount of walking it would have taken to get to the meadow. Sweat beaded across her black pelt as she flew the only promising aspect was a light breeze that would occassionally sweep in and draw away the heat other than that it was horrible. Swooping lower than she would normally she tried to keep just below the cloudline in a futile attempt to block out the heat.

The Thistle Meadow didn't take too long to come into view below her and with it came a flurry of activity. Ashamin and his munchkins were the first thing to catch her eye followed by another stallion then the pegasus stallion and something that looked a little strange. Figuring that this must be other members of the Unbound she let her wings carry her down until her hooves touched down a few paces off from where Ashamin stood. At least she knew one of the four here she thought with a mental shrug dipping her head slightly to Ashamin in greeting. Turning her eyes over to the stream her gaze focuses in on the smallest minion who cannot be much older than a few months old. How was she supposed to be any help? She could barely take care of herself nevermind comprehend being in a herd and doing things to help them all out. Flicking an ear back to hear the introductions she carefully put names to faces so that she could have a hope of remembering them later on.

Fluffing her wings slightly before allowing them to fall smoothly to her sides the hybrid continued to watch Gemini and her antics wondering if she had looked like that when she was younger. She couldn't remember too much about her childhood other than the horrors but she wondered if there had been times that she had been happy and carefree like this child? Did she ever know happiness? Stone faced she found herself lost in thought for multiple minutes before other pieces of conversation broke through her stupor. Tearing her eyes away from the filly she glanced between the others who had gathered nodding greetings to them all before she realized no one else knew who the hell she was. "Hello, My name is Rhea." She said kindly with a soft smile. There was something about Gemini that put her on edge but for the life of her she didn't know what, maybe it was just that she was not used to being around youngsters or something stupid like that. Excusing herself from the group she turned to the stream to go get a drink and cool off, maybe the heat was just starting to get to her she thought lowering her head down to the water and taking a few long gulps.

She had been playing contentedly in the water when suddenly she was hit by a large spray. A squeal escaped the young filly as she frantically flapped her wings, trying to back out of the water quickly. Teal eyes screwed up to keep the water out of them. When the water cleared, she noticed that it was Chaska, the stallion who had taken her under his wing so to speak. The little filly let out a squeal of happiness and splashed across the water towards him. "Always alright Chaska." She said, aiming to nuzzle against the golden stallion. Curved ears turned around as she heard the sound of a voice. "Asha!" She whickered, splashing back across the water to greet the black and white stallion. When the stallion offered her his cheek, she stretched up and touched her nose to his cheek.

She lifted a hoof and lightly tapped at the water. She turned around at the sound of wings and hooves, and saw another Pegasus come up. When the mare came closer, she noticed that this mare had a horn and wings. The filly's teal eyes widened in awe at the combination of wings and a horn. "Hi Rhea." She said with a slight flap of her wings. "I'm Gemini!" The filly spoke, giving the dark mare a kind smile before moving back towards Chaska. As the stallion had grown fond of her, she had grown fond of him. Granted he would never replace her father but he could come pretty darn close as a stand-in for her dad. Her contrasting wings were clutched against her, though slightly raised to keep them dry. Even though Ashamin had introduced the stallion with him, she didn't truly see him until just now. "Oh hi there! I'm Gemini." She said with a happy whicker.

She was much happier than she had been when she first came into Helovia. As Chaska had noticed, she had filled out with a few good meals and some care. Her personality was really shining through now that she was being cared for and given some love and attention that she hadn't been given since the death of her parents. Her bright teal eyes shone with happiness, something she had not had a chance to be since her parents had been torn apart by wolves. If she saw a wolf or a canine creature of any sort, she would probably have a panic attack and freak out if the creature came near her. Those memories would take some time to pass, and a gentle soul to overcome should she ever tell them what caused her to become an orphan.

It had not been his original intention to socialize.  Seanan sulked along the edge of the Thistle meadow, grazing and thinking.  He basked in the heat of Tallsun, his pearly coat shimmering under the vivid, un-veiled sun.  Though he made the motions of grazing, it would be closer to true to say he was simply basking.  There was a laziness that clung to him and slowed the steps of his long, gangly limbs.  A laziness that was far from content, but held an echo of the same sort of feeling.  It was almost a good day.

Almost.

As he made his slow rounds, spiraling deeper into the meadow and farther from any tree shadows that might interfere between him and the delightful, baking warmth, one of his ears flicked towards the sound of water.  Shortly on the heels of that he saw the silhouette of a pegasus soaring overhead, and banking down to land.  Then another.  And now he heard voices, including one at least with which he was familiar.

With a long suffering sigh, the stallion turned his path towards the sound of a quickly growing crowd.  If this were some unofficial gathering of the Unbound, it would be good for him to know the sight and scent of some of his... allies.  And so he would go and at least see, introductions made.

He arrived in time to hear Ashamin introduce the filly to her new allies in the wild.  His hooves dig into the lush turf on the bank of the small stream, a few body lengths from the group.  His nostrils flare with a sudden surge of... of...

He does not put a name to the feeling that surges in his chest.

His eyes roll towards the filly, then narrow at the painted stallion.  "What is the meaning of this."  His voice is low and it threatens.  The words are directed directly to the smaller, painted stallion, identifying the Clovenheart as the instigator of this folly.

"It is one thing to invite adults, who know enough of life to take it into their own minds how they spend it but a child?  What kind of insanity got it into your head that this would be better than the safety of a true herd, which has the time to keep the kind of watch that children require."

The words grow faster, practically beginning before the last was truly finished.  Then his teeth click together on the last sentence as though biting off the thought before it goes further.  The white stallion seems oblivious to the others who crowd around.  Rose-tinted eyes, shading to lavender in this light, at once threaten and beseech.  Don't you know how fragile they are?

OOC: HI GUYS, I thought you needed some DRAMA.  >.>  @Chaska I think you're next unless someone else butts in XD
All interactions are go, short of death and permanent crippling.

broke as hell, but blessed with beauty,

The orange hued mare lingered back, following the opaque stallion from the Threshold, hoping he would lead her to a place where she may meet others that are in this Unbound. He was in no hurry though, she watched as he grazed here and there and occasionally stopped to enjoy the sun, or so it seemed. Ick. Too hot to enjoy the sun here. Paradox was much more for cool weather- the heat made her grumpy. A few times, she contemplated going up to him and telling him to hurry the hell up and take her where he was going, other times she considered just going off on her on. But it seemed as soon as she was about to make a decision, he would saunter on. So she would lower her head and follow. How surprisingly good she was at this stalking thing. A low giggle parted her lips. Or...he could just be ignoring her. A frown plastered her white pasted lips. No. No, she was sneaky. And it truly wouldn't be surprising, considering the way she stalked the woods after the adults as a child. Paradox didn't really have a childhood, she hadn't cared for children since she was, in fact, a child.

Lost in her reverie, she almost missed it, but the one labeled Seanan's forward movement caught her attention and white ears perked forward, catching the tail of the splash, followed by what sounded like conversation, and possibly.....the giggle of a child. She rolled her eyes and huffed, oh how she had hoped that this unbanded herd would lack children. Merely, for safety precautions of course, because how could it be safe for a child to be in a herd that, well, wasn't really a herd? She scoffed, and picked up a two-beat to follow the white stallion into the gathering. She stood back, ice blue eyes taking in the group of horses. One grown pegasus and the child, two hyrbids....wow, she was out of place. Nothing exuded uniqueness about her except her marking. Ice orbs rolled in her skull. The large male pegasus held an air of royalty, and immediately she saw him as one of the leaders. She attempted to make eye contact with him, and offered a polite dip of her white skull face. She was sarcastic and always rude, but she did have manners.

Lips remained sealed as the stallion she had been following finally spoke. Obviously shocked and very disapproving of the foal. A soft, inaudible giggle parted her lips again, and she lowered her head to hide the amusement on her face. Yes, we might just get along. She thought. At least she wasn't the only one disapproving of foals. I mean, of course, everyone started as a foal and foals are necessary to keep lineage going, but right now? In a new founded herd? Is a foal really a good idea? Just something else for them to have to protect. Considering the volatile response of the stallion, she decided now probably wasn't the best time to introduce herself, so she stood silently behind him, watching everyone carefully. Curious as to how this would actually play out.

Rein
no living man could find the key
And from that day a very beast was he
The blood spattered colt groaned, rolling over and tucking his head under one of his forelegs. He tried covering his ears and blocking out the sounds, but his efforts were in vain. The incessant sounds of splashing and giggling, which normally would have been intriguing enough for him to investigate, only annoyed him as he tried to nap.

He sat up abruptly, his brow furrowed and a frown etched into his little, golden lips. There were now two horses making the noises. His irritation simmered once he saw them, however. They had wings. He had met so few who were adorned with feathers, their presence was always interesting. The girl was especially intriguing, becoming the main reason for the disappearance of his anger. She seemed young, and happy, and oh, Rein couldn't be mad at her for reveling in sunbeams and the chill of a summer stream.

The colt lowered his head and let his expression relax. He simply watched them, making no plans to join them till he saw a familiar black and white figure flanked by deer, blood splattered as he was, approach the pegasi. Dad? The boy flicked his ears forward, and watched the group with surprise. His father seemed well acquainted with all who had gathered. Even the hybrid who joined moments later didn't treat the Clovenheart as a stranger.

He felt drawn from his resting place, but stayed rooted once he saw a pale figure's glare cast at his father. The boy's ears pinned, his brow furrowed, fighting the urge to tell the man to bug off. Although the stranger's hostility was over the presence of the filly, his phrasing attacked Ashamin's judgment. And Rein knew none with better judgment than his father.

He felt no hesitation. The boy scrambled to cut his left foreleg harshly on the ground, using a rock he kept near so often. He winced, struggling not to cry out as his scabbed flesh ripped apart once again. He sprang from his place, bounding with a slight limp defensively to the side of the Clovenheart. "I assure you that we, children, can take care of ourselves," the blood spattered colt stated firmly, drawing the blood that pooled from his leg into his mouth, into a sword, into a threat.

Chaska nuzzled the roan filly lovingly before she greeted Ashamin with a broad smile. He turned his head to look at the new arrival the painted Clovenheart had brought. He bowed his head so that his dark muzzle was just above water level. His ivory webbed right foreleg was outstretched as he did so. "Hello miss. My name is Chaska and this is Gemini." he said gently as he looked down at the petite foal fondly.

Suddenly the golden stallion's peaceful mood was interrupted by a harsh voice. His words shot through the pegasi's heart like a bullet. Chaska's normally calm and respectful manner changed instantly. His orbs narrowed to cold emerald razors. Ebony mane flying as his head shot to its full height.

The stallion's nostrils flared, "What is the meaning of all THIS! How dare you speak to Ashamin in such a manner, let alone in front of a child. If you do not want to take responsibility for the filly fine! But do not speak for all of us, for all of us do not feel the same way. I, for one, am willing to take full responsibility for her. A herd can not grow with only adults, can it? So if you were to have a foal, are we supposed to abandon that foal? Are we that heartless? No. We are the Unbound! We accept others as they come, no matter the species, abilities or AGE! We do NOT discriminate." he snorted as he tossed his blazed head.

Chaska lowered he head and pulled the teal eyed filly against his broad chest protectively. His mind was made up. If Gemini left, he would too. He cared for her as a daughter and family meant the world to this young stallion. He would do whatever it took to protect the foal he loved as his own.

His attention was only drawn away from Gemini when a blood splattered colt began speaking and ended his speech by producing a sword from his mouth. Chaska's own lips parted in awe at the act but blinked it away quickly. He again pushed his chest out and spoke in a deep and rumbling voice, "Now young man there is no need for violence. No violent actions towards either of you have been made and I suspect there wont be any and if there were to be any I am sure Ashamin and I could handle it without endangering either of you. You both are part of the future of this herd and are very valuable." he shot a warning look towards the stallion that had spoke threateningly.

"A promise means EVERYTHING. But once it is broken, sorry means NOTHING."

PHANTOM

She had only just agreed to join Ashamin's group and already they were at each other's throats over something totally ridiculous. Honestly, who cared if Ashamin invited foals to join them. Obviously if he invited foals it was because they had no parents to protect them. She could not see Ashamin stealing children away from their parents. He was no child thief. She frowned deeply as she approached the group as they argued amongst themselves.

"This is ridiculous." The pale mare snorted as she made herself situated within the group. They wouldn't know her since she was so new, but that mattered very little to her. She looked to the stallion who had started the whole stink about the foals. "So you don't agree with foals being in the group? So you think they need a herd to keep them safe?" She asked. "Herds do not equate to safety. I've seen many herds invaded and I've seen mothers, fathers, and children murdered within their herds." I've killed them myself. "Obviously when Ashamin invited these children to join us they had no parents present. He's not a child thief and anyone here who thinks that he is should get to know him and his morals." She had glanced around the group pointedly, but now her crimson gaze went back to Seanan. "If you're so worried about their safety then you protect them and make sure no harm comes to them. Teach them what they need to know to protect themselves, because in a herd they would be lost within the members and would have no guidance. Here they have a chance if you're willing to give them one."

But there was another stallion who had jumped in to defend Ashamin's choice and she did agree with what he had to say about herds not growing without having young members. "Herds and groups also cannot grow if we attack each other over a disagreement." She said as she glanced toward him. "Civil discussions and debates are the best course of action to settled differences if you can control your temper." With that she looked pointedly at Rein, who had produced a sword. "Violent actions and threats against those that should be considered friend and family should not be tolerated."

Hé underestimated the scope of the journey before him. Far from diminished, though, he blossomed as the miles rolled under their hooves. New sights, smells, sounds greeted him around every corner and Ashamin made for a most excellent guide, answering questions before they could be asked and feeding the spotted stallion bits and pieces of trivia. It was all enough to leave Hé wanting, bookmarking landmarks for later investigation and consumption. Their journey filled him with such notes, bits and pieces of lore and landmark and history and myth jumbling together and threading through his brain. Rather than struggle to sort them all out, he merely enjoyed the process, trusting himself to make sense of Helovia when he needed to. For those first few days, with Ashamin and the two(!) fabulous bucks as company, Hé felt content in a manner he had not since.... Well, he struggled even to remember. His childhood had grown far and easily forgotten in the intervening years. He had so much to catch up on.

So it is at last the two stallions and their companions set foot upon the verdant soil of the meadow, Hé a little wiser and a lot more curious. Ashamin is Ashamin as ever, the way Hé has come to think of him: a strange mixture of shy and knowledgeable, benevolent and withdrawn. It makes for pleasant company, though it also draws Hé to wonder in ways he can't simply ask. He's quiet as they rustle through the grass, his ears twisting in response to Ashamin's voice. He catches the sound of wings overhead and glances up just quickly enough to catch the magnificent form of yet another winged horse coasting by above — so they are common, in Helovia! If the noise of rustling feathers, of wings in use, provokes a hint of unease in the spotted flesh Hé quickly shakes it off and proceeds after his guide with vigor. Travel's done nothing to wear him down; he feels fresh, eager, almost vibrating upon the soles of his feet. The Unbound. Whatever they are, whatever he ought to expect... Now's the time he tastes truth.

And taste, he does.

The freckled features brighten when Ashamin introduces him, and he steps forward, his tail flicking, with a nod and a cheerful, "Hello!" But his presence is soon drowned out by the ensuing chaos. Hé steps back once more as a strange, ghostly creature approaches and begins to raise alarm. Dark eyes turn toward the object of the stranger's distress quizzically; Hé can't fathom what's wrong with keeping a child among a bunch of outcasts any more than keeping a child elsewhere. He thinks maybe he has more personal reasons than most to find the apprehension ridiculous, and so he says nothing. He contents himself with watching, his brilliant demeanor fading by degrees as more voices join in. And though he might find those belonging to the voices interesting in their own ways, any other day, his attention soon drifts to the fringes of the gathering as the argument thickens, gains momentum, hurtles out of control.

This is not..... what he expected.

A quick, rather sympathetic glance finds Ashamin. Hé's a little embarrassed for his friend, truth be told, but he tries to keep the judgment from his face. Everyone fights; maybe Ashamin can settle them down. Maybe.... Still, Hé finds himself glancing toward the edges of the group more and more, as he thinks about slipping off, finding something better to do than — this.

Ashamin

Everything happened at once, and everything was falling apart.

The first arrivals were innocent and kind enough, but as soon as Seanan arrived the spark that Ashamin somewhat feared about the stallion lit a flame that threatened the safety of the entire gathering. Given how Ashamin had been raised, alone in the wilds with only his father, it had not occurred to him that others might take issue with children living outside a herd. Nor did he see any logic in the reasoning.

But the Clovenheart was not one to argue when he could possibly debate and settle, even if Seanan seemed deadest on instigating something. Ashamin moved to speak but could not before Rein arrived and made matters worse. Horror struck through the painted buck as his own son shed blood and drew a sword, as if they were among enemies. Chaska spoke up in defense of The Unbound, but even Ashamin cringed at the use of the word herd. Wasn’t that exactly what they were not, at least not for now? There numbers were small, their philosophy was different. Despite what so many seemed to tell him, Ashamin wouldn’t believe that he was simply recreating the environment he had left.

His eyes hovered over the bright chestnut mare who was unfamiliar to him and HÉ. Ashamin could only assume that the former was a newcomer recruited by Seanan, but he did not have a moment to applaud the white stallion for his efforts. He didn’t have a moment for anything, not even to argue for reason, before Phantom did it for him.

And though perhaps her tone was a bit more biting than Ashamin though his own would have, her words held merit. And she seemed to understand his sentiment, which he credited to her ability to understand most things as a result of her age and experience. In many ways Phantom knew more than he ever could, simply for having lived in this forsaken world longer than he had.

Ashamin’s companions moved from the water, Lochan to stand before Gemini and Rakt to brush against Rein’s side. Frantic, the Clovenheart reached out to listen to the heartbeats that would let him, to calm the ones that would accept his aid. Given that none in the crowd had experienced his subtle magic save for Seanan (whose beat Ashamin did not alter specifically on request,) the sensation would not be something they could pin on their leader and might be something they experienced as a natural desire to ease their anger and fear. Ashamin could only hope he could reach them, particularly his son.

"Everyone, please!" he called out at last, finally able to voice his concern without cutting through that of others. "Put down your sword, Rein. Seanan, Chaska, soothe your rage. I understand your concerns, and I thank you for raising them but hope that you should know you all can leave hostility behind when we come together. We are allies, all with different knowledge and opinions. We should hear each other, not fight."

Lochan made the softest of lows, a sort of approving and supporting gesture to his bonded. Rakt once again pressed against the bloody boy, as if pleading he put down his sword. The blood-colored cerndyr knew better than most the desire to fight when peace could be had, but he would follow Ashamin to the end of the world and thus try to settle this.

"Seanan. I was raised in the wilds, outside of a herd, and stand here today better for it. No herd would have me or my family, and a life within one would have done me no good. Rein is my son, and he has chosen to follow me here. Gemini was without her parents in the threshold, and took comfort in Chaska’s embrace. Would you have us turn these children away when they have come to us, and have sought our support?" His gaze was steady, and fixed on the white stallion who had spoken up. "But all told, I understand your concern. For the wilds here can be unpredictable. I agree with Phantom; Gemini has an interest in the healing arts, and after seeing you care for Ryouta I think you have much you could teach her. Perhaps, to ease your fears, you could serve as her guardian and tutor for a time."

Ashamin looked then to Chaska, his eyes tender but concerned. The stallion’s passion for the Unbound was clear, but the Clovenheart feared it was misinformed. "Chaska, you would also be welcome to teach Gemini, for I know you two have formed a bond. But I want you to remember moving forward that the Unbound is untethered. We are not a herd, and should not think of ourselves as such. If the time comes that our numbers grow and we need a land of our own, perhaps we will seek one. But the spirit of independence should always run through our minds and relationships."

The paint turned back to his newest recruit then, and cast a quick glance at both Gemini and the unfamiliar mare. "We are here, together. For better or worse we have chosen this life—all of us. This is something I respect about all of you. So speak your concerns, but do not start a fight among friends, especially ones you might not yet know. I would like to take this time to welcome
Gemini and Hé to the Unbound, and, stranger,"
he said, then smiling softly at the skull-marked mare, ”I would like to welcome you as well. My name is Ashamin the Clovenheart, and we are the Unbound.”

For better or for worse, Ashamin thought with a confident smile to cover a troubled heart, we are the Unbound.

Ashamin used his heartbeat magic to listen to heartbeats and alter them to calm people (with the exception of Seanan, who has specifically requested Ashamin not use magic on him.) This doesn't hurt, it will just manifest as your character feeling more relaxed and calm but they won't know why (unless Ashamin has told them of his magic.) I don't know who is ok with me using this on their character so I wrote it vaguely, write it into your post if you want or leave it out.

Sorry for the monster post, Ashamin loves to talk. To everyone who is new, welcome! Hopefully everyone can set aside their differences here. I believe @Gemini is next. But actually maybe @Rhea?

Many spoke as soon as she had finished introducing themselves and joining in on the conversation but it was the white stallion that caught her attention. The foul slew of words that follows his appearance mimic those she had only dared to think about nevermind say aloud. It comes as a surprise to the hybrid that another could even consider sharing similar thoughts to those dark ones swirling around in her head. Yes the child is a liability but so is having someone with a loose tongue. Obviously the stallion lacked any sort of self control and in her opinion needed to good slap upside the head to get the old brain working again. He lacked any horn or wings bringing his description down to a mere simpleton in relation to the rest of them standing here.

Standing there like a rock the mare felt strangely torn between defending her new friend to the likes of a simpleton or making a stand of her own. Whatever lay coiled deep within her was ready to pounce but there was no knowing what force it would bring with it, either for or against this child being here. Casting her eyes around the group she could feel the tension rising the more anyone spoke on the topic. Now was the time to speak but what exactly would come out of her mouth was probably more of a question than how she felt. Narrowing her icy orbs on the trouble maker she took a tentative step in his direction drawing herself up to her full height. Sure he was slightly taller than she was but he didn't have what it would take to bring her down. "Maybe you outta be more concerned about your own safety." She snapped taking another couple steps to draw even with Ashamin. She wasn't looking for a fight over the issue but she was sure ready to finish whatever did occur.

Just beneath the surface she toyed gently with the icy powers that lay there, letting them creep forward to the point of no return and then gently drawing them back. If one were to pay close enough attention they would likely see the small icy swirls dancing around her nostrils. It was vaguely amusing to hear that the cold white one was now in charge of the smallest member of the group, she could only be glad that is wasn't her. Children were definitely not her thing and if she had been tasked with it she would likely close the small thing up in a cave for its own protection. While not practical it would definitely serve as protection from the likes of her.

"Ashamin is correct, we need to grow and not just in numbers. Either you are with us or you are free to walk away. The filly is here to stay like it or not we need her just like we need everyone here." Finishing her little rant she eyes those around her almost daring anyone to challenge what was just said. While she wasn't quite sure where in the hell all of that had just come from she continued to hold her ground to show she was not going to back down. Her mind swirled with many thoughts yet her body remained calm and collected it was honestly one of the strangest moments for the hybrid. Whatever it was causing all this gave her the weirdest feelings of being really ticked off yet being calm and civil about it all.
