so i listen to the    wind for an answer
He is mostly a gentleman, she decides, as the golden stallion humors the little girl who really and clearly, knowing nothing about healing. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s not her skill, and for that matter, she’s quite young. But he replies anyway, nearly swaying on his feet still. She can’t help but wonder if the magic will get stronger, the more she uses it. But then again, he was nearly dead, and now he was standing and talking. So possibly that was pretty strong magic, actually. Besides, nothing can replace water. It’s rather vital and all.

He’s quick to jump on the river though when she mentions it, heading in the right direction faster than she can keep up with him. She scuttles to his side  though, ready to lend a shoulder or wing to keep his steady as necessary, though he does all right, getting to the stream and almost throwing himself in the small stream. “Slow down,” she says with a bit of a laugh, “or you could make yourself sick.”

She waits till he finishes, and now there’s plenty of words of gratitude on his lips. And then, without her even saying where she lives, he’s asking if he can stay under her care a while longer. She smiles at that, nodding her black head in acceptance. “The World’s Edge,” she says, giving him a name to the place and nodding in the direction they should head. “We’d be happy to have you.”

She starts walking then, making her way out of the familiar Threshold and over the slightly less familiar path to the Edge. She almost always flies – it’s rare someone actually comes back with her, honestly – and so she doesn’t know the path on foot as well. But it’s well-worn from use, and not hard to follow, so at least she looks like she knows what she’s doing. “Do you mind if I ask where you come from?” she says, curious just where he was that left him so dehydrated.

It’s not terribly long before they reach the Edge, and Lyanna is happy to chat and answer questions as they go, if he has any. But soon the ruined glass wall comes into view, the newer gate rising to greet them. She rarely comes this way either, but it’s the only way to introduce a new member to the kingdom. The front door should get used now and again. The forest is obvious right behind the gate, the mist rolling lightly through the trees. The wind is slightly stronger here, though nothing compared to what they’d find at the cliff itself. “Welcome to the Edge,” she adds, leading him through the gate and into the trees.
