You think I'll be the dark sky
It was the filly’s first Orangemoon, and she wasn’t exactly too excited about the chill of the night that encompassed the land. She was growing used to the Basin, having been born at the end of Frostfall, but she hadn’t quite experienced the cold like she’d heard the elders talk about. A soft wind billowed through the trees and Khairi was pleasantly surprised at the way he could glide against the current. It reminded the filly of when her and her brother had found their companions eggs, and how they had braved the storm after slipping past Mother’s side – only to return home with a hyena cub and a tiny vulture chick.

Khairi had grown stronger as the days went by. His pelt was a beautiful white, marred only by the blood of his meals. His eyes were a beautiful golden hue, encased in scarlet and rimmed in black that stretched down his sharp raptor’s beak, jutting out with a little bit of feathers to make up the “bearded” part of his breeds’ name. A soft sigh escaped Kiada’s lips as she trudged through the Green Labyrinth, the place reminding her of the sharp storm that had ravaged the land. Today was easier, however, beautiful in the sense of how the beautiful autumn sun glimmered off of the dew that covered the stalks of bamboo in the early morning. The filly was awake early, buying time for Khairi to snatch himself a quick meal, before they trudged on and on, wondering what kind of things she could find in this place.

She was already a couple of seasons old, her legs had grown to be quite leggy but stocky – much like her fathers side. Her face carried its daintiness, the dished view of her ebony faced laced with ivory in a stark contrast to both a combination of her mother and father – yet still a mirrored opposite of her brother. She had grown taller, her horn growing larger and further curved as it pointed toward the sky, spiraled and onyx in color as it juts out from her head. Her forelock had grown larger as well, a beautiful white until it reached her snow rimmed ears, then returned into the ebony tresses as the rest of her body resumed a golden buckskin hue, aside from a pearlescent appaloosa bum that resembled more of her mother as the time went on.

IT'S SAID SHE'S MADE OF STORM CELLS
AND A WILD WOLF'S HUNGRY HEART,
THAT SHE'S LEARNT THE LIGHTNING'S SECRET
