The sun was just rising to it's peak when Ilios started to wonder where is children were. Of course he hadn't told them they had to come, but he hoped they would. Isabella sniffed the air carefully trying to scent their kids. Of course they weren't really her's, but they were his and that made her responsible for them. He was eager to take them out when he went on his patrol. He wanted to show them everything that Helovia had to offer, even if it was only a short trip this time. The twins were still much to young to make major trips across the land especially at this time of year. Bears were stuffing themselves, and was everything else. His eyes glittered dangerously at the thought; Isabella gave a low approving growl. She could almost feel her fangs rip into a wolf or bear that was threatening their foals.
The sound of tiny hooves drew his attention back to the now. A bright excited smile danced over his face and Isabella pranced towards the colt tail wagging a thousand miles an hour. He opened his wings in greeting as Isabella trotted proudly beside "Hi son, are you ready to go?" He beamed down at his ivy marked son, his only son. They looked so similar even though Patrick was still very young. He smiled and tried to nuzzle his neck warmly, "There are a couple rules we need to go over before we leave, okay?" He waited for a second before starting again, "First, you have to promise to stay within sight of either myself or Isabella. Second, if anything goes wrong you have to do what I say. Isabella will stay with you, and you are to follow her no matter what." He watched his son carefully his head lowered to Patrick's level. He had to make sure he would be safe and listen if anything, Sun God forbid, did happen.
Once they were safely across, Ilios dove into explaining how patrols worked and why they had them. "We do this to make sure the herd will be safe. Just because you aren't blood related to everyone in the herd, doesn't mean they aren't family." he smiled warmly down at his son. "The main goal is to go to the place assigned to you, and everyone assigned with you makes sure there isn't anything weird going on." They walked on as Isabella walked a head of them scouting the area, making sure it was safe.
It didn't take long before the trio reached the Heart caves and Ilios came to a halt. "Lets wait here for everyone else. We're waiting for Misael and Essetia." He smiled as Isabella came over and bowed in front of Patrick trying to get him to play while they waited. Ilios smiled and stood watch ears swiveling and nostrils flaring making sure they wouldn't have an unwanted visitor.
