"Look at us, studying the fundamentals,
Back when we were young and now we’re up here on another level."

Sand. Sand and snow. For some time now snow had been on her 'avoid at all costs' list. Now she could happily add sand to it. They had taken residence up on the very top of her list. She didn't like the way she sank into the loose ands, nor the way when the wind picked up it grated her skin causing a burning pain. The freezing waters of the beach was hardly any better, the cold also burned offering very little relief to the sensations of the sands. It was all so very delightful. Walking back up the beach she came to stand in the long grasses that grew within the sands of the higher shore, the long, dry and nearly dead stems where more soothing than the sands. Unsurprisingly she was more interesting in returning to The Edge than actually remaining here and surveying the beach. Yet she did not move for a moment, then even smiled, when she realised the grass offered her protection from the worse of the picked up sands.

Now her thoughts flowed back to her home, to her brother who she'd finally found and the other healers that she'd met. Aside from not really caring for others she found that she had not minded any of them...the their golden leader, Tilney, had spoken a little too much for her liking. Yet she believed he'd teach her many lessons in healing and should she ever decide it was time to leave The Edge then she'd be well equipped to handle the outside world.

With those much happier thoughts she sniffed and smiled softly, ready to enjoy at day at the beach. Which was threatening to be spoiled by the thunder clouds rolling in overhead. Lightening cracked in the clouds and then silence, silence in which the hairs on her neck stood up and her eyes closed, listening and waiting. BOOM. Thunder burst through the silence and Ráeru finally opened her eyes. Well, that explained the wind at least.
