"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Endless Night :: Dead Magic Plot ☼ - 6/22/13 - The gods of Helovia, in order to protect the world, have disappeared into the rift, leaving the world sunless, moonless and magic-less in their absence. Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

fear the vulture and it will come. fear nothing and you are the vulture.
The electrified woman addresses a few others, she must be someone of significance if so many seek her attention—though she certainly is alluring enough to garner the attention of the hulking, skull-marked brute she addressed. As for himself, the vulture, the lightning beauty barely spared him a look, the bright eyes he sought to catch with his own gaze glancing away from him. Ah, foiled again—
“If you call staring at a stranger and swimming excitement, then certainly.”
But, despite her darting eyes, a roughly enchanting drawl answers him; and he is rewarded by her azure eyes that look back to him. A broad grin splits his dark muzzle, “It all depends on the stranger,” his rough voice is amused, his tone daringly flirtatious, as his eyes roam her lightning markings and blue-tinted muzzle.
Pale ears tilt towards the Goddess and Kis, slowly (reluctantly) followed by his gaze. Had he his druthers, he would have remained attentive to the mare beside him. But, alas, the Moon was doing things, like gifting out magic and creating structures in the ocean. Vibrant, red and yellow irises dart to the breaking waves, his beard swaying slightly as he watched the stones grow.
The large, hulking stallion hmmm-ed slighly as he looked over the glowing spires that the Moon had pulled from the sea. They certainly were beautiful, but this was a specator’s sport thus far; not that the vulture minded spectating (he thoroughly enjoyed it, at times), but this wasn’t nearly as thrilling as their last encounter with Kisamoa. “I could do with more excitement,” his gruff words murmured quietly to the blue-seal-bay woman beside him. A brow quirked, questioningly, at her as he took a step towards the sea and ruffled his feathers. His intentions were to closely inspect the spires; not because he was intrigued by them, but because he wished to get the beautiful woman alone.
A sort of quiet fell upon the crowd as the Moon and the Kis spoke and worked. A faint gasp squeaked past Ampere's throat as the violent goddess crafted such a breathtaking monument of glass. Despite herself, Ampere's interest was piqued, aided further by her love for the sea.
At Grassvoel's words an ear flicked towards him, followed soon by the blue of her gaze as a bemused twitch of her lips as he moved past her. His invitation was clear, and any other day she might have ignored him, but she shared his sentiments given the structure and it's locale. She wasn't blind to his flirtation either, but there was little heart left inside of her to be thrilled by it, and even less to properly return it. Still, in a detached sort of manner, clinical almost, she could appreciate his body for the muscular sculpting and rugged appeal. He was someone that was capable, and that was right up her alley- at least it was.
Before moving, Ampere reassured that Sohalia was soothed. She didn't know the depths of the mare's upset, though she could hazard a guess, but surrounded as they were by their herd mates, they had strength and love to support each other. Unable to keep the itch of curiosity at bay any further, Ampere set off after the strange stallion, although in her opinion they were just headed to the same place, not together.
Stepping up next to the rosy stallion, Ampere's eyes were only on the sea and the magnificent craft work of the gods. Her voice though, lightened for the first time in weeks, was clearly for him. "Are you always such an adventurist?"
