FROST FYRE
But with what we have, I promise you that. We're marching on.

She felt a gentle prodding on her side, eliciting nothing but a groan from the sleepy maiden. 'Up,' she heard Altair's voice irately command. The prodding increased in force, becoming a sharper pain in her side. 'Get up.' She opened her emeralds reluctantly, blinking groggily till she found the face of her companion amongst the blur. She pinned her ears at the figure of her companion's silhouette against the sunset as he stood over her, his silver gaze narrowed.

He shook his head at the mottled maiden, long, dark legs stepping silently away from her resting place. She glared at him as he strode away, but held no resentment for her bonded for waking her up. Frost had slept through the day again. It had begun to turn into routine for her at this point. She didn't mind, though. She much preferred the midnight sky to the bright blue of the day. Plenty of animals are nocturnal, she told herself, I'll be one.

The Haruspex rose laxly, dark pillars a tangle in her mane. She unwound her cloven hooves from her diaphanous hair and trotted delicately towards her bonded, a shiver running down her spine. Night would come quickly, and the temperatures were plummeting fast.

A plume of her hazy breath left her nostrils, hot against the frigid winter air. She tilted her tiara upwards, emeralds scouring the sky for a glimmer of the evening star. "Do you see it yet, Altair?" She asked softly, thinking aloud. He mirrored her actions, lifting his regal diadem to search the sky in the pursuit of satiating her frivolous desires. They stayed like that for a while, seconds or minutes, drenched in pastels of the sunset, their gazes alight, enthralled as they waited motionlessly together.
