Vastra
After Kisamoa’s speech, the crowd started to disperse and Vastra wasn’t sure exactly where she should go. Some drifted away, presumably finding other borders to these strange marshes she had never known existed, but none of them were those she cared about. She had not yet seen her mother or brother and so didn’t have either of them to help her choose where to go. So she stuck close to their gathering place, watching as others began to work clearing away debris and death and gather up the bones to bring back to Kisamoa.

Part of her didn’t really want to give him the bones - she wanted them. Wanted to chew on them and see what new creature she could turn into.

The colts from the Dragonball game were nearby but she did not go to join them, and she shied away from the other filly she did not know. If the precious few that she liked weren’t around, Vastra would work by herself - picking a spot on the border to the dead lands away from the others. For a moment, the yearling just stared at the decay before her. It was a mess and she scowled as she breathed in the sick scent of mold and death. There weren’t nearly as many bones here as she thought there would be, which was rather disappointing. But maybe she just needed to uncover them.

The trees were far too big for her to move but she started to shoulder aside smaller logs and push what she could to make a little path. She’d have to, regrettably, get an adult to help her with the larger pieces but for now she would do what she could.

Although Vastra had stood nearish to the girl, when she had gone to begin completing the tasks set out for them, she hadn't exactly waited. Awkwardly, and with nervousness painted clearly on her face, Kolr's large baby-blue eyes look around as the crowd began to disperse.

No one asked her if she wanted to help them.

No one even noticed her.

To be fair, that was more or else exactly what she had wanted, but as the gathering became smaller and smaller, Kolr was left feeling alone and very very out of place. Peering around furtively, Kolr hobbled after Vastra, not wanting to look as though she had been left behind (even though she had). At least she knew Vastra's name - they were from the same herd and had played together once (sort of). Moreover, she was Castor's sister, and even though he terrified her with all of his talking and the sheer volume of his voice and words, she would have given anything for him to suddenly appear. He, if no one else, always noticed her.

"Uhm.." Kolr's voice was small and tinny sounding. "Need any help?" It was more of a whisper, as if she hadn't actually decided whether or not she wanted to speak, and the words just sort of breathed out of her lips. In truth, she didn't really know what help she could be. She wasn't strong, and could barely walk straight. How would she gather? How would she move things around?

Look at the stars,
see how they shine for you
As her wings thrust to keep her in the sky, high above the Rotunda's boundaries, she watched as various forms moved off away from the stone structure. The voice had faded after his speech, trying to get all together to do what he asked--though she wasn't sure why they had to do such. The thought of the dead put a sinkhole in the pit of her stomach and some form of memory pulled at the edges of her mind, but she didn't follow the tug. She figured, for once, the line of thought was not something she wanted to remember.

She hovered for a while above the masses, unsure what to do or where to go. She wasn't too certain of the lands around there, recognizing only the area of the Rotunda from her crossing with Ampere. The Endless Blue turned her away, mostly since her accompaniment with a horned boy despite her belief that he really wasn't all that bad; she couldn't yet trust any unicorn though, so she kept away from the sight of them. Sighing instead she lowered herself to the ground beneath her and decided to stay pretty close to the area. With wings folded against her sides, she wandered without much direction in search of someone to help.

Two foals had found themselves separated from most of the herd, and she moved over toward them with her starry body filtering through the healthy trees. The dead ones, she noticed, were being picked apart by the young pegasus and she smiled at the enthusiasm displayed. The equine girl stood aside, though, uncertain, and Serenity approached from an angle they could both clearly see to avoid frightening them. "Did you two want help moving these trunks?" She motioned toward the one Vastra had eyed earlier and set herself up to push against it with her shoulder. She took a moment to smile at them, saying "My name is Serenity. I would be happy to assist you both."

CASSIUS❃

It was hard not spot her, dazzling about the group. But as she settled upon the ground finally, Cassius was finding it hard to keep track of her movements. It was his curiosity, for the most part that he felt inclined to follow in her footsteps. The mystery behind her accusing gaze, and the lack of warmth that resided in her polite tongue still echoed in his memory.

The gray and spotted moth, unafraid of the flame and its wrath, fluttered after her shadow – the feathers that danced upon midnight.

He would not have guessed that she would follow the company of foals. It makes him smile as he unravels himself from the forest. Head low and easy, a pleasant whinny that greets the trio.

“I suppose I could lend a hoof as well?” It’s a tentative offer; he does not wish to barge and tower over the young ones. Let alone frighten the mare who’d found the silver horn cause for concern from their previous encounter. He could see as he approached them, that the red dun had already snapped into action. Whilst the pale creature, small and lithe – stands, without due cause or purpose.

But the gray is certain they’ll be able to accomplish their task together.

He takes the thick, bottom end of the large tree that Serenity sets herself against. Placing his shoulder to bear the weight. This is a lot more satisfying than collecting the bones – that task has yet to come. For now he settles on the logs – work he’s familiar with, work that sends a troubled, deep ache in his bones that he can ignore for the meantime. “Cassius, at you beck and call.” A mild tease, as he offers a childish grin along his maw. Passing a glance at the starry Pegasus. “Uhm… You wouldn’t mind would you, miss Serenity?”

His eyes are open, as honest as he can make them.

If she flinches away, if she rejects his presence, he will move on if it causes the girl too much trouble.

Curiosity has its limits, after all.

But now it wasn't just Vastra.

Kolr could feel her tiny heart beating like a caged bird inside of her delicate, if not slightly emaciated chest. Two adults had joined them, and the rainbow-girl swallowed hard as her baby blues eyes skirted between them both as she fought to keep herself in place. All she wanted to do now was make up some excuse and run off, to avoid this situation all together. But of course doing that would probably draw even more attention her way.

She didn't really know what to do, although it seemed the boy unicorn was talking to the pretty pegasus, and no one was really looking at her. That was for the best. Kolr pinned her ashen tail against her hindquarters, and allowed her eyes to move slightly towards Vastra, pathetically making an attempt to conceal the panic that she was sure was written all over her face.

"I'm just going to-" Kolr mumbled to herself, moving backwards towards some very small sticks that while she was sure she could move, she was also sure would not be particularly helpful with regards to clearing. They were meant to clear actual obstacles, not just a few twigs. But, it got her moving, and got her away from the group. "-move stuff." She finished, her voice muffled against her shoulder as she limped awkwardly towards a meager collection of sticks.

Vastra
Honestly Vastra hadn’t even thought about inviting Kolr to join her but she wasn’t sorry to see the other filly when she did arrive. She offered the girl the most comforting thing she knew how - a small, barely-there smile and a quick “Yeah.” in response to whether or not she needed any help. She did, she wasn’t big enough to handle this task on her own as much as she hated to admit that. She was just about to ask Kolr to help her with some of the smaller sticks and things when an adult came over - a winged mare looking like she was dipped in golden stars. Vastra knew stars weren’t really gold and it made her uncomfortable that these fake stars weren’t accurate representations of the real thing.

But her scrutiny was forgotten when the mare offered to help out and the red dun filly nodded quietly, watching with wide brown eyes as Serenity, as the mare introduced herself, went to shoulder the trunk of the larger trees. “I’m Vastra.” She offered after a pause, thinking it was probably polite since Serenity had introduced herself first. “This is Kolr.” She motioned to the white girl, believing that her own discomfort with conversation was lesser than the other filly’s and that belief encouraged her to place herself as the mediator between these adults and Kolr.

Yes, adults because another one arrived - a stallion this time, showing some familiarity with Serenity that Vastra didn’t understand and did not find intriguing. His introduction was strange and she wondered why she would need to call him when he was right there. But before she could ask after this, Kolr was mumbling something and then moving away.

Silently, without explaining what she intended, Vastra got back to work herself - but at a spot that would place her between Kolr and the adults. She felt protective of Kolr - if Castor wasn’t nearby, the least she could do was care for his friend. With two adults, they would be able to clear the larger obstacles and Kolr was picking up small sticks so Vastra started to hunt for bones - picking up what she could find so that she could bring them over to Kisamoa and make him proud with their collection.
