You're so cold but you feel alive

On the way back from the Heart, Erthë excused herself to Yael and decided to take a detour past the Veins before continuing home. Long seasons had passed since she last visited the old shrines, and she was overdue for her delivery of fresh flowers. Whether or not the gods actually cared about the offerings she did not know. The Lady had appeared before here there once, and from what she had heard it was the go to location for communication between moral and god even now, despite the shrines being toppled and ruined for many years. Still, wandering amidst the sacred dwellings  brought a certain ease of mind that Erthë had never felt elsewhere, and so it was with some eagerness she looked forward to this trip.

Knowing well how little vegetation the lava-strewn landscape of the peninsula offered, she paused on her journey on the brink of a small creek to refresh herself. The cool, clear waters coursed around a small meadow, partially flanked by trees resplendent with fresh verdure, their freshly budded leaves vibrant with color and life. Spring certainly had come far here in the south, the filly noticed. Flowers of every color and size crowded the slope in such numbers that they left no room for grass, many of which were unfamiliar to her. Daisies she recognized, and the cheerful yellow of dandelions and buttercup, and if she was not mistaken that was an early patch of lavender with its unmistakable powdery blue. But the tiny orange torches, and those beautiful white bells whose stalks seemed nearly too thin to hold up the blossoms?

As her eyes spotted a patch of dazzling red amidst the abundance however, Erthë turned her eyes away, all too aware of the seductive power that flower held over her. once her thirst had been slaked in the stream she headed over to the lavender and began to pick from the pungent stems; only a few of each, only a little for each god, for it was a mere token of her faith and a mark of allegiance she wished to convey, not a bribe to curry favors.

Though the clear sky and the lack of wind made the midday sun strong, she made sure to keep her wintry powers at bay for once; it would not do to freeze this much beauty, whether accidentally or on purpose. Erthë might not particularly enjoy the warmer seasons but it did not mean she had a right to deny others their share of it...

No one ever tried to keep her from reveling in the snow, after all.

home is behind the world ahead
there are many paths to tread

Almost nothing could keep the child of stone grounded, not even in the majestic expanse of desert he now called his home. Be it a half-day trip to a neighbouring provence or a day spent building his nest under the eyes of Gauchos monument, Pippin was learning the ways of a hardy Helovian in wondrous speed. Camping outside every night had been one of his hardest trials; hobbits werent used to the weather, and burrows were where they made their homes.

To the west he had flown on his first adventure, his wings taking him directly over the sea. Once or twice he might witness a pod of dolphins revelling in the sun, or even the most marvellous spectrum of fish flashing by upon the surface.
Reaching down the boy would shyly attempt to stroke the candescent water with his hoof, though when the draft turned his wings off course and shook his miniscule body with turbulence he would soar away with his tail tucked.
One day I will touch the water .

Now soaring high above the clouds and the canopy they provided Pip began to peer through the gaps when he noticed the clouds darkening. The most curious blue light streamed through the gaps which consiquentially caused the small stag to dive below the cloud cover to gaze upon whatever dwelled below.

The rock, the waves, the lava. It was like nothing he had ever seen, nor ever dreamed of. Jaw agape and his wings treading in place against the air, pippin beheld the peninsular with wide eyes. For a good few minutes he fluttered in circles around the shrines, the lava-washed beach, and the trickling stream. He wished to see it from every angle and learn it secrets!  Coulx they ever be uncovered?
It was on his fourth circle above the shrines that he noticed a girl among the wildflowers. She was the colour of snow, and a pegasus just like him and also blessed with horns.
Wobbling on his wings the small boy turned and aimed his landing at the beach, awkwardly and determined he zoomed in for his landing. Five times out of ten the boy would crash into the dirt, he was still learning, however today he managed to keep his dignity and land with a reasonable attempt not too far from the wintry doe.
"Hallo!" He chirped excitedly "what are you doing in a place like this?"
