"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Pleasure was alight in Manon's multicoloured eyes as she surveyed the end product she and Toulouse had worked all day to produce. The Grove was a scene straight from a movie, complete with sparkling lights and a crackling fire to set the mood - if nobody ended up sleeping together tonight it was through no fault of the setting. A smile curled upon her soft, velveteen lips as she looked gracefully across to Toulouse, eyeing the handsome planes of his elegant face as they were burnished orange and gold by the flames. Like a prince, she thought to herself before stepping lightly toward the serpent;
"I'm going to get ready now, our guests should be arriving shortly." Manon cast one more look about the grove, her eyes lingering within the flames for a moment before returning to Toulouse, something like anticipation burning in the corners of her lashes. "Don't be too turned on when I get back, I know it's hard to resist" she laughed delicately, her smile turning into something wicked.
@Toulouse I thought a starting post for the two of them would be fitting! xx

Stoking the bonfire with a large branch, Toulouse's ear twitched at the ballarinas approaching footfalls. To say he was excited for the night's events to unfold was a slight understatement - he really couldn't wait.
She purred to him a far-away whisper about how she was off to ready herself. A good idea - he had much work to do on the lion-like mane he had covering his neck for one thing, plus his coat could use a good wash. "an excellent idea, dear one" Was the serpents hiss to his younger companion, a fierce friend and ally he trusted more than any other in this gods-forsaken land.
But the gift! He had a gift for her.
"Oh, Manon" He cooed, stepping from the bonfire and beginning to search the surrounding trees for the very hollow in which he had placed her gift. "I have something for you"
What it was he would not tell her - she would have to wait and see.
Manon paused at her companions sensual coo, ears pricking unabashedly at the thought of a gift. Her lips pursed silently as she turned, almost petulant at the surprise - though internally she buzzed with pleasure at Toulouse's attention, and stepped toward the serpent with barely concealed pleasure. "You shouldn't have," she purred, though her gaze searched the hollow swiftly in the hope that she might catch a glimpse of his gift. Usually she attempted to maintain an air of disinterest when it came to presents - but if it were a gift from the Specter himself... how could she continue such a facade?
The ballerina brimmed with excitement as she danced ever closer, a thought blossoming in the back of her sharp mind before she disclosed a gift, of sorts, herself. "I had wanted to wait until after our event, but I have a secret of my own I should like to discuss with you. I have been blessed, Lou." Manon paused, gaze flicking around the clearing before she crept closer and whispered "My eyes, they've gained some kind of power - hypnosis." A sultry grin whispered across her velveteen lips as she stared at Toulouse, knowing that his brain would be whirring with the possibilities, as hers was.

Cirlcing once around the bonfire, Toulouse reached into the hollow of a great, old willow and plucked an elegant scarf from it's pit. It was beatiful; a clear match for his own, though there was something special about this one.
his hooves took him to Manon, the ballerina he so adored, and draped it affectionately over her poll. "Now you look like a true T'detan" He spoke somewhat nostalgically, his eyes ever so glassy with a mist of want and longing for his motherland.
Perhaps it was the fact that she looked almost exactly how he had always envisioned his daughter to look; cloaked in fine silk like her mother, dotted in a luminescent desert-born coat like her father.
He was distracted from these sombre thoughts when Manon spoke, telling him of the powers she had been blessed with. His jaw dropped ever so slightly, wonderment filling him. What an incredible power - he was almost envious.
"incredible," He began, sea coloured eyes tracing over her face "use it wisely, Manon".
He could have disclosed his own powers, a kind that was reflected through his own eyes, though perhaps he'd save it for a time when she felt like using her power upon him.
They were dangerous; lethal. He'd be sure to vow to himself to never use his magic upon her so long as she never made any similar attempts of her own.
