Feeling as if he had pondered over his new magic long enough to proclaim himself a viable artificer of metals, the tri-colored stallion has spent his morning otherwise pondering, how, precisely, to go about professing these skills to his superiors.  Though he was sure Alysanne could help him, he also knew all too well that being a Queen meant she probably had better things to do.  Besides, he of all people should know that there were Glaziers about, right?

He just hadn’t a clue who they might be, or where to go about looking for them.  So, instead of bumbling about, feeling and looking foolish, he has gathered a mental checklist:  dragon statue, major clearings, greenhouse, Alysanne.

He certainly hopes he won’t have to bother his old friend, at least not for something as stupid as finding a herd mate.  He’d only lived here for over a season now, after all.  It was downright ridiculous that he didn’t know many more people now than he had when he arrived.  Making a mental note to fix that (knowing he never may) as he sets out on his search, the stallion is quickly sidetracked by other notions…

Like exactly what he’ll say, when he does find a Glazier.

Coming into the second clearing in his mental map, the stallion is relieved to notice glass objects scattered about, seeming to be parts of broken spears, or failed armor designs.  Curiously eyeballing a few of them as he enters the space, his hoof clinks against a spear shaft, which he flips out of the ground it’s become embedded into to inspect with his nose.  No longer than two inches, it is quickly no wonder why it’s been left to become one with the earth, and the craftsman lifts his head to call out into the silence.

"Hello?" he asks, wondering if the owner of the glass objects is about.

Truthfully, Mesec was a pretty poor Glazier. For someone who had always wanted an actual job within a herd, to belong to one, he hadn’t been working very hard to prove that he was capable of holding the rank that he was given. Between Kaos and the very domestic problems that seemed to rise up in his life on the day-to-day now, he just had not been practicing as much as he should have been.

Today, as fortune would have it, was the first day he had spent in the clearing reserved for glaziers and their crafting. He wondered whether Graasvoel had taken to their new job any easier, but he hadn’t seen the other stallion around since their crafting day with the other members of the Edge.

Mesec had mostly spent his new magic practicing and crafting trinkets - but he knew the Edge would be more interested in items that could benefit the entire herd as a whole. For Iona he had crafted a lightweight chainmail made out of the tough glass that once formed a wall around this very herdland - perhaps he could try to make more of that.

Lyra was with him today, sniffing at the discarded objects lying around in the grass. One of the things that they should do, he thought, was to clean this place up - reform whatever was useless into something new and useable.

Both kitsune and stallion were distracted enough that they did not notice that someone else was in the area until they heard a questioning hello. Mesec instantly drew out of the shadows of the trees he had been under - enjoying the coolness of them, not hiding! - and smiled at the unknown bay stallion. “Hello!” His silver gaze caught on the shine of the glass items in the grass littered around the clearing. “Sorry about the mess, someone left a fair bit lying around and I’ve been trying to clean it up.”

Almost as soon as he calls out into the misty morning, the stallion is answered by the appearance of a hybrid male, from the nearby shade and shrubbery. Somewhat embarrassed with himself for not having noticed the man, the tricolored stallion smiles somewhat meekly in response, mentally chiding himself for being so careless. That sort of behavior had already cost him an item, after all! Whoever took the next would likely not be as kind as the Mountain was, either, in regards to returning it.

However, the dark coated stallion wears a friendly expression of his own, and seems apologetic in his own way. Somewhat soothing (as anything can be to a naturally shy person such as Dragomir), the Glazier’s apology draws the painted crafter’s eyes down to the ground again, with a faint smile. His own clearing during his time of work here before had not been much better, and the one he and Ranjiri stayed in was only as orderly as it seemed because she was more responsible and studious than the large son of Adalwulf ever was, in so far as keeping up after one’s projects.

"Oh, it’s fine," he replies, looking back up, not blaming anyone for being swept away in the throes of creation, and forgetting to pick up that which had failed or been broken in the process; clean-up was much less fun than making, after all, "er. I’m Dragomir. I am looking for a Glazier…?"

And haven’t the slightest clue who that is, he doesn’t include.

The painted equine introduced himself and explained his cause for visiting the messy clearing - he was looking for a Glazier. Which was going to be a very short search, as it turned out. “Oh! Well, I’m Mesec and one of the Glaziers actually. Nice to meet you, Dragomir.” He dipped his head politely, a small grin in his silver eyes. He had been pretty slow on going around and meeting his fellow herd mates so it felt good to finally being doing so.

Lyra, who was currently lying several feet away from the stallions tossing a bit of smooth glass with all four paws as she lazed on her back, flopped over to get a good look at the equine. He didn’t seem to have any little creatures following him around, which was rather disappointing, but she’d get up and investigate. In a moment.

There was a slight pause before Mesec continued, shooing away the touch of exhaustion that was entering his mind through his bond with the small kitsune. His voice was a little more hesitant now that the usual pleasantries were done and over. “Did you, uh, need something crafted?”

The dark man was called Mesec, and Dragomir nods his head in greeting, giving his own name in turn.

"Er, Dragomir," he half-mumbles, an ear falling back, because, well, he isn’t sure what to call himself, and adds, with less confidence than the star eyed Glazier had proclaimed his own title, "a maker."

There is a slightly awkward pause in the conversation (for the crafter, there were often many in a single meeting, especially with those he’d never met before), in which the pale-sky eyed stallion simply stares mutely at the man with the twisted, briar like horn. Occasionally, his thick, dual toned tail sways up towards his side, warding off the seasonal insects that were endlessly hungry this time of year, even in the mist, the man is glad with the also somewhat awkward hybrid picks the conversation back up.

Otherwise, they might have stood here for at least a good while longer, exchanging silence.

"Oh, no," smiles Dragomir bashfully, coming up from his thoughts, eyebrows raised in apology, "I was hoping to offer my services as a skilled craftsman. I can create metals, and have skill with brick and rope making, as well."

He doesn’t include that he used to be a Glazier – that would mean he’d also have to explain why he’d abandoned that position, in the first place.

…and he’d much rather not, because, to be perfect honest, he wasn’t sure he even had an answer.
