Well, he'd been sullen after the meeting, but after a couple days of pouting and running around with Erebos destroying shit, he felt better. He knew, sensibly, the purpose behind the choice of Tiamat, but understanding why a pill is so fucking big and actually getting it to go down your throat are two different things. Finally though Öde felt civil enough to actually, meet this Haruspex, Cassius or some such.

Lena had helped smoothed out his rough edges in his youth, but he was still hardly the refined gem he ought to be. Someday...

So, Öde adorned his wolf cloak and his jockstrap and strode with a purpose from his shit hole of a cave towards the much grander, holy one of the Haruspex. Despite his fonder memories and experience here, Öde was mindful and paused at the entrance, leaning in with an expectant gaze. He'd last served under Ashamin, who had liked his privacy in this cave, having called it his home as much as his workshop. "Helloooooo," he called out, "Öde, reporting for duty, or some shit," the last of his words mumbled under his breath. Reporting to anyone felt... lowly.

There wasn't much to do, to be honest. It was why most wise ones didn't have many lackies. You mostly prayed and communed with gods, or what you hoped were gods and not just weird shit you caught out of the corner of your eye or whispers of your own madness. It was a lonely job, and it attracted solitary types of horses for the most part. Oh sure it had its community involvement, like telling stories and recording herd history and every once in a while counseling leads or guiding herd members through their fucked up shit. None of that really filled your day though, not the way healers were always out gardening or crafters were weaving night to day, or warriors training constantly. Sneaks...probably did sneaky stuff all day too. No, the wise ones just, brooded mostly. It was why the Haruspex customarily picked an interest in one of the other ranks and did some work with it too; Öde generally preferred to fight in his down time.

For now though, he was here to do his job, whatever that may be.
