We shiver as we step into the cold, cold night then we’re running, we are running now!
Oh, Miss Plain Jane! Isn't it marvelous how that, for once, you were not overlooked? The commander called you capable of representing the herd. Yes, you - the one who had previously been destined to remain as a mere background character! Now you're decent enough at something to get a story woven about you like you've always wanted. Be careful though, mon cherie. With one wrong mistake heroes can easily fall from their pedestals and be labeled as nothing more than tragic heroes. We wouldn't want that after you've finally gotten your chance in the spotlight, now would we?

To say the mare was shocked when the commander approached her with a mission - an important mission - would be an understatement. She figured he would have gone to Erik for a task such as this. Yet there he was, standing in front of her, and briefing her about what she was to be doing. Dru had still been shell-shocked when she told her parents she'd be gone for a while. Their warm and wide smiles made her heart quench with a feeling she wasn't familiar with. Pride.

With promises of bringing souvenirs back to her younger siblings, Dru launched herself up into the peaceful skies. The air was like a friend to her, the wind gently whispering sweet nothings into her ears. Ha, but that would be more akin to a lover! Either way, the pegasus was far more comfortable closer towards the heavens than she was on the earth. There was no where else that she could feel so capable and free.

The sun, once so high and bright in the sky, began drifting lower and lower. In the distance the moon could be seen gradually peeking its head out from its slumber. Dru did not wish to dilly-dally but darkness would soon succumb her. It would be the most practical if she settled down for the night and continued her journey when the sun awakened once more.

Through the dimming light, her eyes managed to scout out a forest. That would provide sufficient cover and shelter for the night. Wide wings stretched outward as they allowed the wind to brush through her feathers. Her descent was slow and certainly showed the mare's unwillingness to leave her skies. Unfortunately, all good things must eventually come to an end.

When her hooves touched the ground she evaluated her surroundings. Things looked much different than when she had a bird's eye view. Darkness devoured the forest yet, at the same time, something about the trees beckoned her forward. As if cast under a spell, Dru found herself pulled further into the forest. Every single instinct was screaming at her to turn the fuck around but for some reason her brain wasn't functioning properly. Looks like someone got into the fermented fruit.

One more step forward and -

and everything shattered? Literally, the floor underneath her hooves began to cave in from underneath her (she didn't weigh that much - geez!). Her stomach lurched as her heart tried to evacuate out of her chest. Frantically, the mate tried to lunge away from the sinking ground.

Too late.

A scream was caught in the back of her throat as she felt herself tumbling down, down, down. Trying to slow her descent, perhaps even stop it, her wings expanded. Bad idea. Very, very bad idea. Branches, bark, and leaves immediately attacked her extra appendages the moment they left her sides. Luckily, she did stop eventually as her wings were caught on a branch.. until that branch broke.

With a soft thud (although the landing certainly didn't feel soft by any means) her body hit the forest floor, groaning as twigs dug into her side and her head bounced against the ground. What in the world just happened..? Dru struggled to grasp her fall from the sky? Was it the sky if she just fell into more trees? Ugh, her head was spinning too much to comprehend what the hell was going on. A wing gingerly touched her throbbing head as her eyes rapidly blinked, trying to adjust to the dark lighting of her surroundings.

In a whirlwind of a daze, Dru wasn't able to truly realize to depth of the predicament she was in. All she could think of was the cuts and bark stabbed into her wings. Oh, not to mention the floor freaking collapsing but there had to be some logical explanation for that.. But if it was some weak spot in the terrain, wouldn't she be in some underground cavern?

If only the stunned mare withdrew from her thoughts long enough to realize how much of a sitting - laying? - duck she was for any predators on the hunt.

The grey mare was on the hunt. It had been to long since her last blood bath. Her hide quivered with the longing to feel blood coat her hooves and horns. Green and yellow eyes flashed with the burning depths of hell. Krieger would be proud of the twisted blood born daughter he had raised. She had followed in his blood soaked hoof prints. She had been born in blood, swam into existence in a tidal wave of crimson. The blue feather in her thin mane wavered in the breeze as if her father were breathing upon his prize. He had taken that feather a trophy for gouging out the ice mare's eye, and upon his horrific death his daughter had taken it for herself.

When she had been roaming Helovia the mare sought out the weak and ended them; the weak being winged horses. There was no need to take trophies for herself though, the scars over her body were enough. Now that she was back with the Basin, having no idea that they were completely different, she was ready to purge Helovia of the wicked. She would liberate this world as she had started doing in other worlds. Her thick shoulders rolled the tension from her body. Attacking strangers had taught her the best ways to come out victorious. If you were to tense, to hyped up, your thoughts were muddled which always ended in pain. Of course she had come to accept pain as a friend. Pain was something that could fade with time, or shroud your heart forever. It was a constant companion of hers, so much so that it hardly bothered her anymore.

The sound of twigs being ripped from their trees made the huntress pause. She was a wild creature ready to feast on the fallen. A wicked wild grin spread over her black lips. Silently she stalked froward eyes flashing with her intense desire for gore. She peered through the underbrush pinpointing her target. A red hued mare was laying upon the ground ready for the taking. Dual colored eyes flicked to the lady's head, she had to be sure before she pounced. She shifted back tot he wings her breath growing raspy with her vehement need to cleanse the pretty lady. Her wings were vermilion she wondered if her blood was just as scarlet.

Instead of rushing head first into the mare she smirked silently and watched. How dumb was this lady to be laying on the ground in a strange place. She wondered if this was a strange place to this abomination. Her nostrils quivered drawing in her scent; nothing familiar registered. The scents she carried were completely alien. The longer she stood there, the stronger her lust grew. She couldn't take it anymore.

With her mouth clamped shut the mare burst from the undergrowth. Her ears were pinned eyes wide and wild as her feathered legs lunged ahead of her. Her eyes were green and yellow missiles locked onto the feathery obscenities. The lady was on her left side leaving her right wing open for attack. Her mouth opened wide aiming to grab the appendage as she raced past. Successful or not she raced back into the vegetation. Fear was half the battle, if you could install fear in another you would win. As soon as she was out of sight the mare slowed and quieted her movements. She circled back as silently as her large hooves could manage. She was a patient  hunter, taking a lesson from mountain lions; attacking only when their prey was turned the wrong way. For now she would wait and watch ready to rush out when the lady was least expecting it.

We shiver as we step into the cold, cold night then we’re running, we are running now!
Like a newborn babe she laid upon the cold, unfamiliar ground. As shady pixels began to take shape a frown contorted the features of her face. Looming above her was an ancient tree of massive proportions. A shiver ran along her spine at the sight of the foreign foliage. Things didn't grow that large where she was from. They were average and, well, unremarkable! An eerie feeling washed over her entire being, drowning her essence.

It felt as if the shadows were coiling around her throat; a cobra trying to squeeze the air from her lungs. Nothing about this made sense. Images of the ground caving - no.. shattering - beneath her hooves fluttered through her mind while the scratches from her "fall" burned to prove it had been real. Everything always had a logical reason behind it, but what could possibly explain this? The her brain tried to wrap around the idea the faster her heart began to beat.

"Wake up. This cannot be real." Dru urged herself, a sense of desperation beginning to sink in. The smallest of noises only caused her panic to thicken. Anxiety had a knack for heightening one's senses. Noises began to assault her senses; the wind was suddenly very loud along and the crickets' usually soothing songs felt like solemn warnings. The mare was struggling to rise, to calm herself down long enough to conquer her trembling nerves, when she was proven right to worry.

In this new land (because surely this could not be her home) a dark creature darted out from the underground. Behind her the sound of footsteps - hooves? - pounded against the ground. Dru tried to turn, to face to source of the noise, but in her dazed state she was far too slow and left her wing perfectly exposed.

Vicious teeth bit into the tendon of her wing. A pained grunt escaped the back of her throat whilst the rest of her scream was caught on a lump. At that moment, everything was in overdrive. Fight or flight instinct immediately took ahold of the mare. When she spread her wings, though, she realized flying was impossible; the forest was far too narrow.

With the little moonlight that streamed through the leaves, Dru searched for the predator's form. She stomped her hoof defiantly, trying to shake away her fear and remember her commander's words. Ah, who was she kidding? She didn't even know what she was facing. There was no way her fear nor confusion were going to dissipate.

However, when you back a confused and frightened animal into a corner.. Well, you better be careful.

dru takes the bite full on to her right wing's tendon. she's alert but doesn't really do anything besides attempting to search for Zunden in the darkness.

Blood lust raced through her heart as teeth met tender flesh. She thought of trying to drag the lady around, but it was more fun to play with her prey. This lady was a mouse and the she the cat. Her mouth opened freeing the lady as she raced into the darkness. Her lips turned up in an dangerous smirk as a grunt followed her retreat. She wanted to pounce, to tear the lady free of her wings. A shudder raced over her hide as she watched the lady shuffle to her hooves. The cursed doe stomped her hoof as if daring the huntress to come back out; her eyes flashed at the challenge.

"Oh little dove...." Her voice was much deeper than normal (part of her plan), and dripping with venom. She allowed her voice to drift for a moment before she raced out eyes wild teeth flashing. She couldn't handle the games anymore. She needed to break this girl's curse, snap her wings off and free her. The Aura Basin would be so proud, or so she thought. Since she had arrived back at her icy home the grey hadn't spent much time there. She stuck to the outskirts when she was home at night. During the day she found herself roaming around looking for the two people she wanted to see most. She hadn't realized that the herd had changed from their racist ways, that they might ban her from the mountains. Life moved no matter how hard you dig in your heels.

She continued her assault blissfully unaware of the repercussions this blood might bring. As she nears the lady from behind she lowers her head. Tossing her head from side to side she hopes to slash the red girl. If she can fell the taller mare that will make her job easier. Deep wicked laughter rolled from her lips, making her sound like a man. What fun would it be if she knew her attacker was another girl? She didn't want her to know who she was; not yet.

It was more fun to watch others whine and cry because a random horse had attacked them. Once they accepted what had happened to them she would move back in. She would become their friend. Mental torture was so much more fun than physical. Mental pain was hard to push away when the fear of God had been put in you.

She lunged mouth opening trying to grab her red speckled withers. Her prey might be taller, but Zünden far out weighed her, thanks to her heavy draft blood. She hoped her extra weight, on top of any injuries to the girl's legs, she could pull her onto her left side and continue her purging.

Zunden makes her voice deeper so Dru wont know her by her voice. She uses her horns to try and slash Dru's back legs and butt, then she lunges for her withers and tries to pull her down so she can grab her right wing.
