It was a rather spectacular day, in Yol's fine opinion. The sky was so berry blue, the clouds so cotton white, all fluffy and lovely it made the colt want to wiggle in joy, leap and prance and jump and rear and buck and dance like the yearling he was. It was his first winter, and he loved it. His coat was fluffy, tail still awkward-scraggly, his brown eyes bright amidst his warm gray face. Where were all the other foals who wanted to play? Yol wanted, oh how he longed, to fly. But it was difficult, and a mare had told him a while back it wasn't very safe to be flying on cold days, for ice gathering on your wings and made you plummet to the ground. Awful! The young gray Percheron could not imagine crashing into the ground, listen to your bones break...

Whump! Yol tripped over his feet, landing in a snowdrift with a fantastic spray of white exploding into the air. Cold white danced over him, tingled on his nose and filled his ears. "A-ah-achoooooooooo!" With a disgruntled second sneeze, Yol struggled his way to the top of the snow, where he stood, chest-high. With some huge leaps assisted by his wings, he made his way to the tree, where the snow was a little less deep and plush.

Mystique was never the loud type. She was more shy and laid back then anything. She never had other foals to play with. She longed for a friend though, oh how she would love to meet another foal to play with. With this new wet stuff that was as white as the clouds on a clear bright day. It was like a roll of cotton that was freshly lane all along the Throat. It was so cold, that it sent chills down her spine. It made her want to run and play and jump around, but she didn’t want to look foolish. The young filly, walked puzzled as to what his was. Every step she took she could see her hoof prints following her. She didn’t know what this, cool white stuff was , but she wanted to find out.
Traveling to her wasn’t anything different. She traveled alone because she never had a family or someone to be with her. Usually, she traveled at a walking pace with her head down, but this time was different. She was stunned because she heard a loud noise coming from in front of her. Slowly she trotted over to see what all the ruckus was about. Finally, she saw what it was. A foal. Another foal! Wow! She couldn’t believe her eyes. A new feeling came over her. A feeling of happiness and joy.

Snow wasn't as new to Cera now as it had been a few weeks prior. He wasn't one to stay in the borders, especially of Midas had taken him out into the surrounding lands and he became familiar with then. Playing with Wanyecha in the large snow drifts in the Threshold had familiarized the gangly colt to the joys of playing in the freezin powdery substance. Midas was once again off doing his duties and Cera decided he wouldn't wander today. Maybe he could get more acquainted with the others in his herd. It wasn't something he particularly liked doing, but the Earth God had assured him nothing had would happen if he made a few friends that weren't his father.

So that's how he got there at least. Long gangly legs kicking out in childish joy, little puffs of snow following wherever he bucked and twisted in his own little game. Cera would grow to be tall and thin, and so as a colt he was dreadfully small in mass. The wind cut right through him despite the protection of his wings. Often he found himself wracked with shivers, mewling miserably for Midas. Playing kept his body heat up, and it was a good way to exercise too. A loud sneeze nearly had him tumbling over himself in shock. Emerald eyes, wide and curious, scanned the area for the source of the noise. Spotting a grey form, much larger than him, not far into the treelike. Whinnying happily to announce his presence and stretching out his legs to run and meet the other youngster.

As he approached his eyes found another smaller also walking towards the colt that had sent up such a flurry of noise. She seemed more his age, and he called out to them, wings folded up against his sides and ears pricked, eyes alight with joy at finding company. "Hello! Who are you?" Looking between the filly and yearling colt to show he was asking them both the same question. Smiling his normal bright welcoming smile. The filly looked a little hesitant and he wanted her to come forth, not scare her away by seeming mean.

A nicely toned voice stunned the filly. She shot a curious look towards the two colts. A look of shock was upon her face. “Someone wanted to talk to me?” She thought Stunned as she was she looked at the two colts that stood before her. She didn’t know what to do, so she just said what just rolled of her tongue. “Uh, huhh.. hi.” She said with a shy tone. Trying to talk with a nicer tone she said “I’m Mystique.” She gave them both a shy smile as he ears perked up. She actually felt not as shy for once. She wasn’t scared or overly excited, but at a calm state. Now she really wanted to know the other two foals names, so she asked more confidently “Who are you?” She said directing the question to both of the colts. They seemed to be really friendly and maybe they had the answer to what this mushy wet white stuff was.
Looking again from one to the other, she smiled gave them a playful look. Her eyes glimmered as the snow reflected a shine that twinkled. Her white creamy pelt was now whiter than ever. She was so confused, but most of all she was just excited to be with other foals.

Yol watched the other frisky horses come by, prancing a few steps forward. His dark tail twitched once or twice, his ears flicked forward, eyes bright. The white filly said she was Mystique. Did Mystique mean something? Even at a year old, Yol commonly didn't know what longer words were. "I'm Yol." He annouced to the three, looking at the other colt. Yol had never seen a horse colored like that- sandy brown patched with white, a dark mane and tail, and big wings all sandy-and-dirt colored. The colt's dark eyes blinked, half-shutting against the glare of the sun against the white sky-fluff that meant he couldn't fly. Both of the foals were younger than him, but Yol didn't mind. After all, he had never really been at that age himself. Instead, he had always been taught about fighting, then driven off, even at his young age.

With a sudden leap, he brushed Mystique's wither with his nose. "Tag! You're it! Catch me if you can!" Laughing, the gray colt darted a few steps away, eyes sparkling as he waited from the filly's reaction. He hoped the two of them would play, and wouldn't just, y'know, be all, like, what are you doing.

The little filly was confused by this “game” that Yol wanted to play. “He said to go and get him.” She thought. “He must mean… go tag him with my nose!” Mystique whinnied with joy and laughter. Smiling, she approached Cera gave him a look of “should I?” Giggling at the colt’s funny behavior she took off racing to get the colt that ran before her. Mystique was quite the runner, for she had to out run adult horses if needed to. At a calming pace she cantered towards the colt, not far behind him. Breathing she moved swift fully. She whinnied again with joy as her hooves made a steady rhythm in this mushy white stuff. It was sort of fun playing in it. Running in it, especially when you’re chasing another foal!

Almost instantly after her thoughts, she pulled up to the colt running beside him. Giving him an over dramatically smile as if to say “Hah, this game is easy.” She suddenly feel behind, slowing her , pace giving him more time to run. She waited for the perfect moment and then with a burst of speed ran behind the colt leaping over his body stopping in front of him. Then at the right moment she moved out of his way as she lightly touched his withers saying “Tag Yol, you’re it!” Laughing she jumped and frolicked around the two colts. Then smiling she said “Now THAT was fun!”

Horned youth spoke, a name that Cera was sadly sure he would have to practice in order to say it correctly. The older colt, bright eyed and interested in their presence, announced himself. Yol. A much easier name to remember, though the patched up Pegasus thought Mystique's name was unique and intricate. Realizing only then that he was the last to give his name, giggling and shaking his head, ears flapping as he shook the sticky flakes from where they clung stubbornly to his forelock. "I'm Cera!" Noticing Yol's interest, also confused by his draft influences. Cera was thin and feminine and was rathe awed by the sturdy yearling.

Sudden movement towards Mystique startled the thin colt, and delight welled in his breast as the words were shouted out. Memories of frolicking in the snow with Wanyecha appeared in his mind. Mystique looked almost lost before a light dawned in her face, whinnying happily and gaining a mischievous, amused giggle as she peered at him playfully. Watching as she sped after Yol with a speed Cera couldn't accomplish without his wings.

Long legs carefully extended as he trotted behind them, careful not to be lost and forgotten but letting the little fae chase down the darker male. Amused and entertained by this turn of events. Making sure to watch the drifts, Wanyecha's injury still clear in his young mind. He'd never been around more than one foal before, and never from his herd...hopping gleefully at this thought. Did that mean he could have more permanent friends? Quickening his pace in exuberance to catch up to them as Mystique danced away from Yol, hopping around and crying out the fun she was having. Cera nodded and laughed, sidling closer to her since Yol was the one who was it and she was currently safe territory. Emerald eyes sparkling happily as he watched Yol carefully.

Mystique’s eyes sparkled with happiness. Looking towards her new friends she smiled. “Cera.” She said quietly. “It’s nice to meet you.” She said smiling at him. Trotting towards him, she laid herself side by side with him so she could make a plan with him to stay away from Yol, since he was it. “Hey Cera, do you want to make a plan so when Yol tries to catch us, we can make it really difficult for him?” She looked into the colts stunning Emerald shaded eyes. She was happy to be making new friends. She hadn’t really had this much fun before… ever. But, now she could see that these two foals would be good friends. They could possibly even be true friends.

As Cera and Mystique trotted away from Yol, as she tried to think of a plan. She didn’t want to act like a boss to them so she waited for Cera to have an idea. She wanted this plan to be perfect. As she waited for Yol, she knew that he would be able to catch up to them fast. Yol was pretty fast for a colt. She liked that he was fast like she was. Turning her head back to Cera she quietly whispers “Well, what do you think?”
