[[Given that this is a time sensitive event and you have two weeks only to bond with your companion via the hunting, You may skip Note, Cera.]]

[[It's quite alright I have to get lucky soon on a die roll lol. Thank you for telling me Official it's very helpful.]]

It was frustrating to know that he couldn't achieve what he desired. Cera felt anguish over the fact that he couldn't catch anything, and looking over at the tired panda on the sand he nearly cried. But then he realized all at once that getting upset wasn't going to help anybody, so he steeled himself and let out a huff of breath. He'd have to expand his search but he would do anything for his lovely companion, absolutely anything. She looked so lost and small there on the desert floor and leaving her to perish wasn't an option. The Earth God had trusted him to do this, and Cera had to believe that eventually it would work out.

Emerald irises swept over the sand again and again, desperate for something to find. Desert animals were hard to hunt. They already lived in harsh conditions, and were either small and fast or predators. They knew how to avoid death and did it well, but if Note could manage it then so could Cera. Even so he couldn't be picky, and the next blob of color that tried to blend in with the sand was not ignored. It was large, an omnivore clearly, so Cera hoped it wouldn't attack him or if it was even able to. Coati, his mind supplied. Its chittering was loud on a normal day as it foraged for food, but Cera blocked it out. It was so much like a raccoon and the similarity to his companion made him feel sick, but he lunged for it anyway. It may be larger than what the pair had been going after but Cera was still substantially larger. All four hooves came down in a flurry, hoping to find a sensitive spot at the base of its neck or spine. If not he would leave it terrified or injured, one of the two though he hoped for the former should he fail.

There is a snap of bone and the mammal lies dead as sacrifice. With it you will be able to feed your newfound friend, but its family now rests alone and waiting for its return. The crack of the bone and the splatter of blood as it breaks through flesh is harrowing- one hopes your stomach is strong.

It takes a few long moments for Cera to realize that the animal lies still beneath his hooves. Staring down in horror at the blood and bone, the crack echoing through his head. A sickened whimper escaped him and he stumbled away for a second, bile creeping up his throat. It's so very against his nature, and it makes him want to run away to Midas for comfort. But he knows that he has to do this, that he can't give up now. Choking, he rolled it over to the fluffy ball of red and black that awaited his return. Digging in quickly as it came close and mewing for more.

Cera swayed at the thought but refused to give up. Reinforced by the sight of her gorging herself on the fresh meat, he turned and tried to press away the memory of its death. What meets his eyes next is much smaller, and faster, and he hopes luck is on his side once more as he approached. The jerboa was small but so was his companion, being an omnivore. Jerking himself forward once again, wishing he would never have to use his hooves as weapons again as he aimed as carefully as he could for the tiny creature.

The jerboa is completely unprepared. As it reaches for a seed on the ground and bites down upon it to crack its hard shell, you do the same to its skull. It lies limp and still, marking a place of life with a stain of blood. You have killed once more.

His aim had been true once more and a sick if small crunching sound echoed from beneath his hoof. Cera's stomach lurched again and he fought to keep away how ill he felt. Rolling it over to his companion whose name was already forming in his mind. There was no debating, it came to him naturally what her name should be. Once the small mouse like creature rested at her paws Cera quickly turned away lest he be sick at the sight of the growing blood on his hooves.

Just a few more, he told himself. Scanning once again. Once his beautiful companion had her strength back, she could forage on her own. But for now she depended on him. A small fluttering body was what he discovered next. Sandgrouse couldn't fly but were wicked fast when they needed to be. He approached at a different angle, moving slowly and appearing to be shuffling along. Only pouncing for it when he was close enough, hoping the small bird would be easy enough prey.

The bird cried and fluttered its wings rapidly, but, well... it was only so effective. The phrase bird-brain existed for a reason. In its haste, it flies straight up into the volley of your hooves, knocking itself cold in mid air. Its fragile body cannot take much of an impact- upon its fall, it snaps its own neck.

The red panda reaches out for the food you have hunted and grabs at it hungrily, holding it in its tiny paws to tear it apart. All around you, birds begin to flutter through the trees and they take up a chorus of song in anticipation of the wonderful event. It looks up into you eyes with a sudden understanding and deeper meaning, and in an instant, magic seals the bond.

Congratulations, the red panda is now yours to play! Please update an admin with information on your companion for the records.
