Loyal stallion returns to the palace of his Goddess and kneels at the foot of her shrine. Manhattan's mind, like a soothing whisper, reminds him of his sanity and place in the world. Even now, with his family torn apart by challenges and herd divisions, he remains faithful to his companion. Nothing will ever tear them apart, Knox thinks. They are a part of each other- with the other, they are at last complete.

But still the urge to complete the task given to him by the Moon, to learn of the past and become it, is burgeoning. He paws at the earth as he rises from his bow, lets his heavy hooves laden with feathers scrape the stone and leave faint white traces of their presence. Betwixt his lips he grips the bone of his father; an offering to her holiness. He waits upon her arrival now, longing to see her once more, hoping that she truly does watch over him; care for him.

The hairs of his coat stand on end in the cold night wind; anticipation and custom turn him blind. Manhattan howls softly into the night. She is braver than before, perhaps even stronger and bettered by her loss. But still she is jealous of her master's attentions- still she envies the Goddess of the Moon and wishes her to leave her stallion's thoughts. Her tail sways and her legs carry her forward. Knox stands dumb and blind; proud and majestic but still submissive. She skulks forward into the darkest of shadows, bears her teeth in the face of the shrine. She feels no fear, she only waits for the world to strike her down.

Such a young thing- so much more brave than her master.

The GOD of the MOON

Moon god like quote here~

The souls of the dead who passed on without pleasantries usually hung around, trying to make sense of their lives. Often, essences of these lingering spirits hung on bones and personal items, and the one who caused the death was more close to that essence than anyone. The carving of the bone had not been a pointless measure, no. The Moon Goddess had asked the very mare who had made the colt a murderer to draw out the soul of the steed. Already his desires and personality were beginning to take shape around the bone, invisible to all except her lavender eyes.

She smirked when the boy approached. He was tormented and he had just asked her for more. The important thing now was to make sure that he could control these monsters he was wanting to summon from the dead. In order for this to happen, she would have to instill in him the ability to read the thoughts of his elders. He did not speak, so neither did she. Instead, she exhaled a breath of misty darkness that wrapped around his mind and entered his nostrils like thick fumes.

All of the souls of his elders moved into his brain, but he could not control them; not yet. "Go now and resolve yourself with your ancestors. Return to me when you can gain some sort of ability to find yourself again," she murmured, watching him with mild curiosity. Absently, she wondered if he would break beneath the madness.
