Massive tawny vulture wings flapped as the grullo flew on top of the world. His silver gaze washed over the earth’s wonders while the wind gently brushed through his tinsel highlighted mane. Usually the stallion’s thoughts were none other than his love, Phaedra, but this time it was different. This time they were vengeful and plot worthy. Levi recently had encountered none other than the evil prick, Tio. The brute thought that he could just walk in their lands trying to take over. Deciding whether he should take over or not, but apparently that was not his day to fight. That asshole thought that he would/ will be able to take over the Throat? The grullo thought not! There was no way anyone would want to side with Tio anyways. All of his mares would end up being pregnant because he was a player and no one could possibly have respect. Tio was un honorable to his herd leader, Kri, and told her that he would make her his little whore. What the fuck? That would never happen. Tio is Levi’s enemy and on his watch he would never let him touch Kri. He would die for her, for any of his herd members because in the end , they were his family.

Tio thinks that he is going to be able to take over the herd lands, with what army? Levi thought gritting his teeth. No one would want to follow in his footsteps and besides, he is no fighter, in fact, he had no technique and tried to take on three on one. What an idiot he was! Levi thought back on the day and how he attempted to kick out towards his wings, but the fact was he was to slow. By the time it took the fool to turn around, Levi had already stepped backwards letting the brute kick the air. His kick did not look powerful at all, he actually looked like he had never fought in his life, but there would be a day that Levi would kill him. Maybe by himself or maybe not, but this was personal and there was no way Levi was going to stand for it. There would be no fighting on his lands if it was with Tio!

Shaking his head from the thoughts, the brute suddenly wondered about Phaedra. What if he had Phaedra washed under a spell? What if he was going to hurt her, or worse, kill her? The brute shuddered at the thought, but quickly cut if off from his mind before he got to into it. Creating an aerodynamic shape, the brute pinned his raven colored ears to his skull as he moved quickly towards the ground. It did not matter where he landed, but he needed to take a drink. About ten feet from the ground, Levi let his wings flap out before he gently glided to the ground. His silver hooves slipped through the dozens of flowers that were now in full bloom. Taking a short time to collect himself, the brute stayed in place to catch his breath.

THIS WORLD IN WHICH WE LIVE IN

SHOULD BE HID AWAY IN WRAPS

The Thistle Meadow…how long had it been since he had traveled the wilds? The light grey stallion moved with ease, his chest pains feeling a bit better. Even though he had yet to see the healer, Onni, the desert had taken care of most of his pain. It was strange to have his body change in such a sort amount of time, but he knew it was only temporary. He needed to see her soon, but he was due for some exercise first. He felt surrounded in the Throat, and claustrophobic. He wished for a second that he had wings, but he tossed the idea aside. What was so great about having wings? He started to ponder why he had turned to the dark side, the side of racism. What was the point of it exactly? He felt so empowered by it, and it was a feeling that was easy to let consume you. You could get drunk off of it, and be out of your mind in seconds. It was a drug, and it kept you addicted until it ruined you forever. He felt bad for the unicorns of the Basin, the Plague; Psyche, Mauja. Mauja. He realized that he was racist too. How could he have been blind to that? Of course he was racist. The Plague had been started while he was King of the Edge, and he had been apart of it, had probably been the leader of it. It was so easy for him to see how subtle the Plague was supposed to be, and how sneaky and subtle the Frostheart was. Was everyone as blind as he was? Something made his heart sink at this notion, and he wasn’t a good kind of sinking. His own notions started to bother him. What was he doing? Was he really in the right place? Had he really changed from being a hard-core racist to an equal? He knew it couldn’t happen that quickly, and he began to wonder if he had really been one at all. He knew he wanted to fit in with the other unicorns of the Ex-Edge, but he truly believed in their cause. Pegasi and equines were normal, plain and dull. They should be below them…but what was this feeling inside him telling him that they were all wrong? The thoughts swirled in his head, making him dizzy. There was so much to consider, and it was hard for him to tell what was right and what was wrong. The voices of the DarkEmpress and other unicorns pulsed, spilling their lies about unicorn supremacy. There was no one yet to tell him it was wrong, that everyone was an equal. But faces past him instead. Kri, Lace, Rapha. Rapha. It was wrong. He shouldn’t be serving those bastards, especially Psyche’s daughter, the bitch that she is, just like her mother. He felt their power was undeserved suddenly, and he wanted to stop it. But how? Did he even really want to, or was he still just mad at Psyche? Psyche…her name floated in front him. He asked himself again what had happened, and why. It was so easy to say why, then so hard to decipher all of the clues. Everything seemed to be made of lies, and everything seemed to just fall apart before him. Is that how his life would be, a trail full of lies and a path behind him made of his own blood? He was forever destined to bleed, to bleed out for those that didn’t deserve to make him bleed. He reached the Thistle Meadow, and looked around. A black figure shone in the sunlight, his wings folded at his side. He didn’t know of this figure, but he smelled of the Basin. Maybe he could shed some light on things, and it would be good for him to let some things out as well. What was the point of being in a herd land if you couldn’t trust who was in it? He made his way slowly along a flower lit path, stepping past crushed flowers, showing where the large pegasus landed.

“Hello there. I am Valentine, new member of the Throat. Who are you?”

Twisting his sore neck around, the grullo somewhat jolted as he heard a deep clear voice. It seemed kind the way the horse spoke so Levi was not scared so he wanted to see who this horse was. His silver gaze washed over Valentine, examining the stallion, Levi noticed that he had very usual markings. Valentine, as he said his name was, had a nice light grey pelt that made his marking even more eye catching. Drawn to the red outlined designs, he mainly looked at the heart shaped one. How odd that a horse had a heart shaped marking, but Levi liked it! This stallion, he could, tell was definitely unique, but it was not a bad thing, but a good thing. His silver orbs flickered towards the brute’s face. He seemed to be stressed, as Levi was earlier, but why? Why was this stallion so stressed? Suddenly breathing, the grullo inhaled the crisp air that gently blew. Yep he is definitely a Throat member Levi thought to himself. Stepping towards him, the brute’s features lightened as he felt more relaxed. He considered all of his herd members brother or sisters to him. In this case Valentine was now his brother. Levi did not know every single horse in the herd which was also nice because he would always have someone to meet, but it was also sometimes challenging. Either or Levi did not feel any kind of threat from the steed, so he instantly became less stressed.

“Hello Valentine. It is a pleasure to meet you sir.” His silver gaze fell towards Valentine’s as he introduced himself. Slightly, the brute bowed to his new brother in respect and then spoke again “I’m Levi a warrior of the Throat. If you want or need to know anything about the Throat I would gladly help you, it is an honor to have you with us.” The honey like tone chimed from his vocal chords. Levi was honored to meet a stallion for once. Usually he met all of the ladies of the throat so it was nice to finally have a stallion to talk to. It would be nice to have someone who understands you, but you can actually lean your weight on them as you can for them as well. Usually Levi was the one letting horses lean on him so it was hard that he needed to rant sometimes, but he had no one to rant to. Levi hoped that maybe he and Valentine would get along.
