Silver orbs flickered towards the river that pressed through the trails on the fields. It was here that he was so ashamed of himself. It was here that he made a bad impression to Phaedra and Pluto because of the ladies stupid flirting war. Why did it have to be him for them to get mad at? He honestly did not even know what he did to make Phaedra so upset. He was only trying to show her how much he actually liked her, but no she flipped out wanting nothing to do with him after the moment. Levi was depressed for a while after and sworn to not even flirt with another fae after that day, but he felt much better about it now. Time took its toll and helped the feeling heal, making everything seem to be better even if it was not. He just hoped that she would forgive him for his foolish behavior… and if anything he hoped she would just accept his apology. Many thoughts rushed through the brutes mind, but the remaining one was not of happiness, but of a night mare.

Tio a horse that had come to the Throat, not so long ago, had threatened to take his herd land over. For some odd reason Levi was somewhat nice to him at first, welcoming him to the herd, but then Tio offered to take over the herd and challenged all of them in his ways. Levi stood infront of him to get in his face, trying to scare him, but Kri was the one who did most of the talking. At first Levi wanted to break his face in so far that he would never be able to see again, but then Kri took over. Tio then thrashed out on Levi and then Kri, and Kri took the fall for Levi. She protected him and even though he could fend for himself, Kri put herself out there for him. It still brought a feeling of amazement every time he thought about it, but he was still unsure if Tio would be able to take over. If what he said was true, then sure enough he would when he “outnumbered” the Throat.

Everything was so stressful lately Levi wished that something or someone who would be able to help him. The only horse that had ever really helped him in such a way was Romani. Romani, was going to be a good friend, and he could not wait to see her enchanting face once again. He did not just like her for her looks, but Levi knew he found a true friend and would do anything to have it stay that way.

Romani

She couldn’t breathe.

The pure agony, confusion, and self-loathing that filled her compact frame made it difficult to suck in breaths, uncertainty about everything causing her once soft, azure eyes to be wide and wild with fear. What was happening to her? Why couldn’t she remember them?! First, it had been Abdullah, the pretty gray Arabian who had encountered her in the Foothills… Then, Xanthos, the handsome grullo stallion who had told her that he loved her. He loved her! And how did she repay him? With confusion, skepticism, and fear.

At first Romani had been convinced that Xanthos had been lying, that he had been playing with her and toying with her emotions, but then… Oh, the sadness that had crept into his once joyous expression when she had told him that she didn’t know who he was… There was no way anyone could fake that. It was too true, too perfect, and it caused an unknowing pain to strike her in the heart. They had met in the Thistle Meadow, and since then, she hadn’t ventured far from the safety of the Foothills. The fear of encountering more that knew her was beginning to overwhelm her, for nothing hurt the Haflinger more than to see the look of utter disappointment shining in their eyes when they realized that her memory had failed.

It was these troubling, painful thoughts that had caused the mare to wander, finding the swirling path of stone and grass that led upwards from the Foothills, gracing the side of the beautiful mountains that surrounded her home. The skies were clear, the breeze carried nothing but the scent of fresh air and spring grass, and where once it would have caused the palomino to feel young and revitalized, it did nothing for her wounded spirit. Cresting over the hills, a breeze caressed the mare’s pretty face, brushing the ivory forelock from her gaze in almost a soothing touch. Up here, she could be alone… Up here, in the Heavenly Fields, she could think.

Behind her, little Kasai had remained quiet through their trek from the Windtossed Foothills to the Fields that they stood in now. The tigress’s dark blue eyes stayed locked on Romani’s form, a soft, rumbling meow leaving the confines of her chest. The cub had long-since grown worried for her bonded. It seemed that nothing that she did could pull Romani out of this all-consuming depression. No matter how often she played, or goofed off, or was all around cute, nothing seemed to make Romani smile anymore… The thought saddened the cub, and her black ears lowered slightly, resting against the base of her skull. Through their internal bond, the white tiger sent a caress of her own, a gentle touch of love and adoration, simply to let the Haflinger know that she wasn’t alone.

It was after the message was sent that a tan figure caught the cub’s attention, a sharp contrast to the wonderful green hues of the field. The breeze picked up once more, and with it, carried the scent of the one who stood not too far from where they were. Both Kasai and Romani recognized the smell, for it was that of a friend, someone who was actually remembered and cherished. Levi, the Pegasus stallion who had become a dear friend and who had promised to help her with her memory loss, stood a few paces away, looking just as troubled as Romani felt. Kasai, remembering the games that she and Levi had played in the Sacred Grove, trotted forward, letting out a pathetic little roar to get the stag’s attention.

Spotting the obvious excitement that the cub displayed, the briefest of smiles tugged at Romani’s dark lips and she followed after the enthusiastic tigress, her ears swiveling forward softly. Her eyes, while happy to see Levi once again, held a shade of exhaustion. “Levi, my friend… Oh, it’s so wonderful to see you again.” Her words were true and heartfelt, for it was. It was now, in this time of need that she appreciated having such a friend around… Perhaps he would give her a few moments of her time? “Have you been well, since the last time we crossed paths in the Grove?”

Standing at her forelegs, little Kasai stood still with her tail held high and proud, her nose pointed up at the grullo stallion. A resonating purr emitted from the cub’s bowels, a clear sign that she was happy to see Levi as well. The cub and Haflinger both considered him a close friend.

[OOC: That’s fine, dear. :D <3]

He hates what is in front of him,
But because he loves what is behind him.

A wonderment of truth came to the brute suddenly. If Romani did come to see him, then they surely would be good friends. She would be able to tell that he was in trouble or needed her, and the palomino fae would be there with her tigress Kasai. The memories from the grove were so strong in his mind now that their conversation was replaying. He was truly so pleased that he met Romani and knew that without her he would be nothing. She was the one who would calm him down when he was high strung, she was the one who kept him wanted to keep their friendship going, and she was the one who was one of the best friends he had ever had. The irony manned would understand everything that Levi wanted to tell her just as he would understand everything that she wanted to say to him. He wanted very much to just be in her presence, feel her comfort and explain to her his problems. He did not really open up to anyone other than Sohalia and Romani, but there was a difference. Romani he felt as though he could talk to her about anything, Sohalia it was more based on Phaedra. Levi did not know why they had such a connection right away, but they did. It must have been fate.

A piercing, but somewhat pathetic roar rang into the dark rimed ears of the brute. Levi knew that roar, it was Kasai! Turning his head the brute shockingly saw Kasai and Romani coming towards him. “Levi, my friend… Oh, it’s so wonderful to see you again.” Her velvety tone soothed him as they were truly heartfelt and Levi knew so. Romani came over to greet him. “Romani!” Levi raced over to meet her and Kasai. Washing his enthusiastic gaze over her, he could not believe that she was here. How did she know? Or was it just fate again? Either way Levi was desperate to just talk to her. He needed to talk to her about her as well and understand if they were going to meet with that mare she could not remember. Pressing his dark muzzle to her cheek he greeted her with the usual. Only for a moment he kept his muzzle pressed to hers since he did not want her to feel uncomfortable. “Oh Romani, you don’t even know how happy I am to see you right now. I’ve missed your company, my friend.”

It was true, Levi was so excited to meet with the palomino, but he really wanted needed to tell her about everything that was going on in his herd. It was sickening to him to know how Tio was a sick stallion and how he just thought that he would be able to get whatever he pleased… that was not okay in Levi’s book. His silver orbs sparkled with joy as he listened to Romani speak to him once again. “I have been alright I guess…” Levi’s voice trailed off as he wanted to tell her that he needed to talk to her, he wanted to scream that no he was not alright, but he wanted to know how she was first. She was more important to him than he own problems and so therefore she came before himself. “How have you been?” His voice tried to be enthusiastic, but it was sort of hard since he was extremely stressed out. Between Phaedra and Tio, he was about to explode.

Kasai reassuring purr kept him from going insane. Stretching his neck down to meet with hers, Levi nuzzled into the side of her striped cheek and air. “Kasai, I have missed you to.” He said it with such truth that he almost started to cry. This was such a messed up world, that Levi did not know how he was going to handle it.
