Nervous footsteps cut the eery silence like a keen blade, as leaves crunched loudly underneath her weight. The sun was high in the sky, as the gentle breeze blew the moss dangling from the massive treeline aloft. The immense canopy shielded the vast majority of sunlight, only a few rays shining brightly through the wholesome leaves. The mares gaze pondered throughout the forest, ears erect awaiting any sights or sounds that might come about. Why she came here, was a mystery. She was always one to travel and enjoyed the shier adventure and excitement of it. Inquisitive as she might be, something inside told her to be sharp and not get distracted. She knew nothing about this place, therefore she must be alert. She took slow sluggish steps as her head was held in a natural elegant arch, nostrils flaring in a neural manner. Abruptly she halted, lifting her gentle maw upwards to scent the surrounding air. She knew other equines inhabited this forest, the stink was everywhere! But where? A tender meek nicker erupted from her velvet maw echoing throughout the bark on the trees. She hoped to grab the attention of any nearby equine. She shook her long multicolored locks as sweat began to bead on her brow. It almost gave a sleek sheen to her dappled coat. A sudden pang of thirst sent her ever onward, as she lowered her head in an a attempt to avoid the gnarled tangled vines that twisted and snapped in her mane. A hopeful grin spread across her lips as she leapt into a springy confident stride. She couldn't yet confide in all of her senses, but she was almost positive that running water was faintly flowing in the near distance. She blinked her deep ebony pools as she proceeded into a more rapid pace, tossing her slim legs underneath herself into a hasty trot.

The Devil Cries
All through the night

The dark ebony stallion had just been to the World's Edge and was still waiting to be accepted and figured what better way to prove himself? He had been kindly welcomed by Thor and even though he wasn't one to be thankful, he was very thankful for Thor's generosity towards him, for he surely did not deserve anything of what Thor did. Thor had kept a calm demeanor towards the rude stallion, even through his snappy remarks. Duch wasn't used to this whole "herd" thing but he might as well get used to it.

It had not been to long since Duch had been in the threshold where he had met Thor and Hector. He took a liking to Thor almost right away. but his position on Hector remained unscathed, he hated him just like he hated everyone else. The way the larger stallion had spoken to him didn't help either, but that was a while ago, no reason dwelling in the past right? Wrong. That was the reason Duch was the way he was, his past haunted him like dreams, though he was still awake. Haunting memories of his fathers face, and all that blood that covered his mother. And who could forget his one and only love? Nova, a snowy mare of pure beauty. Duch had found life again once upon a time, shone past his evil shell and revealed his soft core, but now his coating was thicker than ever. His heart grew colder as the days went on. His memories and flashbacks increased. Most would say he was on the verge of insanity, but Duch kept himself right on the line.

A small nicker caught the evil brutes attention. He shifted his weight to head towards it in search of the horse that made it. His body swerved through the trees like a shadow. He came across a grey arabian mare. He smirked softly as he approached her.

He walked up behind her. So close he could almost touch her. Hello miss. he said waiting for her to freak out and try and kick him.

Anastasia

A haunting breeze gently caressed the earth below, uplifting the surrounding foliage and leaves that cluttered the forest floor. Her tail flustered with excitement, flagging upwards as she slowed her stride to a comfortable walk. The sight of the pellucid azure water almost relaxed her, sending chills down her spine. She lowered her skull towards the frigid stream, pursing her velvet lips taking in an extensive mouthful. It coursed down her throat soothing the arid sensation almost instantaneously. Suddenly, a peculiar scent filled her nostrils as she jerked her head up with a quickness. A voice appeared from what seemed to come out of no where, "Hello Miss". It said. In shier surprise she spun around, her hooves dug deep into the soil sending rubbish flying through the air. She flattened her ears firmly against her skull, exposing her teeth in an act of intimidation towards this foreign stranger. She was never one to have such luck with strangers, and it was obvious. A thick scar laced the left side of her face just omitting her deep sable eye. It looked anything but recent, a scar that was earned of what seemed like to long ago. Her pools scanned this husky stallion, examining him from hoof to wingtip. She seemed to be fascinated by the looks of him, before finally meeting his gaze. "Good day to you." Finally she spoke with a tender gentle tone, smooth like honey. She arched her lithe but toned neck into a half bow, politely greeting the stallion. "And you might be?" She stated with an assertive nod following closely behind. She wondered if this stallion could answer many of her questions to whom she was dying to ask. The thought was pushed to the side for a brief moment, as she pondered the stallions facial features. He was a typical thick, broad stallion that any mare would fall head over hooves for. But Anatasia wasnt just any mare, and that was a fact. A soft but cautious grin plastered across her maw, tilting her head ever so slightly, awaiting a response.

A beautiful day, it was. Truly and absolutely beautiful. The forest in which she walked was no familiar friend to her. It had only been recently that she had came here herself looking for a home. It was here where Gaucho found her and brought her into Dragon Throat.

Dragon Throat was perhaps one of the best things Avalon had stumbled upon in her life, or so she thought in her mind. They had provided her with a home, protection, and more. She had practically little to no worries for now. She was still getting the hang of things. And as she did, she loved it even more. That's why she was here, actually. To return a favor. However, Avalon knew that bringing a healthy individual back was little compared to what they had done for her.

Avalon walked through the quiet Threshold, listening to the chattering of the small animals. The weak and feeble sometimes had the brightest of voices. They had to be. Their survival depended on it and on one another. Communication was key, from the crow's alerting caw to the songbird's beautiful song of peace.

However, with each bold and elegant step the giantess took, the forest grew quieter. Silence meant there were others. She had learnt this through her past and through now. Avalon's ears flickered, listening intently on any conversation that may or may not come through. Then she heard what sounded like a snicker and more voices.

Her large frame bounded over a fallen log as she gracefully strode towards the sounds, her antlers sitting atop her head. The feather sets attached to her tail and mane both caught the wind with every stride and they followed suit of the flow of her ink black mane and tail. Silver irises scanned through the brush looking for the source when she found it.

A ebony colored individual and a grey dapple. She caught the mare asking the other individual his identity. The buckskin dapple smiled, her expression warm and friendly as always. It close to never showed any other sign, such as anger. Avalon had patience with some and with others it was limited. However, Avalon's large presence was soon around and with it came a sense of calmness.

"I do apologize if I am interrupting anything. I see you are new to Helovia, I suppose. My name is Avalon. I'm a member of Dragon's Throat." Her warm persona was felt through her voice as well. It was no fake, for she was truly a warm and friendly individual. She was hiding nothing behind curtains. Those who said otherwise were probably filled with nihilism.

Duch smirked slightly as the mare quickly turned around on her heels, her hooves planted firmly into the ground. He chuckled ever so slightly Ahhh. Did something... Frighten you he said with another soft smirk. He wasnt trying to scare off this mare but creepy was just in his nature. It was something he couldnt jsut take away. His orbes scanned over the mare as he walked arounf her in a circle as he seemed to do quite a lot. He circled her like a wolf pack circles their prey before they attack.

He stopped to the side of the mare when she spoke and asked him a simple question, well, simple on her behalf, but on his, it was very complex. Who was he? Who was he really? Duch pondered the question deeply. Well there was the whole truth, or the was the simple fact of names. But likely that he would tell this mare his poor story. Like it would fancy her to come with him anyways if he just simply blurted out that he was a prince, and also a murderer. As if the little mare would find any of that to her liking, and of course there was the rest of his haunted past. But he decided to keep it as simple as he could.

Well, you see, who someone is defines their whole being, so tell me, do you really wish to know who I am, or merely my name? If that would be the case. I am Duchanar, I come from the Worlds Edge. He said his last words as he turned his head too look at the new arrival. Her name was Avalon. They both were awfully simple mares in appearance. Nothing that rally caught the males eyes except for the fact that they were females. Other than that. They were just meat to him. He shifted his weight in annoyance as the other mare greeted herself.
