She wears a coat of color, Loved by some,
Feared by others

BIRCH HAD DEFENDED HIMSELF WELL. SHE HAD STRIKED HIS CHEST WITH A FULL OUT GALLOP AND TWO HOOVES? YOU THINK THE OLD MAN WOULD AT LEAST STUTTER. HE MOVES HIMSELF AWKWARDLY, AS IF HE IS TRYING TO HIT HER WITH HIS TREE, BUT ALAS, HE IS TO TALL TO JUMP OVER AND HE IS TO TALL TO HIT HER. HIS SHOULDER BUMPS INTO HER, BUT WITH ONLY CAUSE BRUISING. HIS FOREHOOVES SMACKED AGAINST HER NIMBLE FORM AND SHE STUTTERED, BUT REGAINED BALANCE A MOMENT AFTER. SHE FELT STRANGE NOW. SLIGHT BLOOD TRICKLED FROM WHERE HIS HOOVES HAD HIT, BUT WORST, IT STUNG. SHE WAS TO FOCUSED ON THE PAIN THAT SHE NEARLY MISSED KTULU CHARGING AT HER. HER BODY BASICALLY FROZE. THE AIR SURGED OUT OF HER LUNGS. THEIR ATTACKS WERE SOLID AND WELL PORTRAYED, BUT OPHELIA HAD JOINED AND ARI WANTED HER TO GO DOWN. SHE TRIED MOVING. SHE RECOILED HER BODY TO THE RIGHT, AS EYTAN THREW VISIONS OF HER BLOODIED AND DEAD ON THE FLOOR. SHE SHRIEKED AS KTULU'S HORN SLID ACROSS HER FLANK. A DEEP GASH ON HER SHOULDER, A SMALL SCRAP ON THE SIDE OF HER STOMACH, AND FUR LOSS ON HER HINDQUARTER. KTULU and EYTAN THREW NASTY ATTACKS, BUT THEY HADN'T FELT ARI FULL OUT.

SNOW BULLIED HER EYES, BUT HER PASSION FOR WAR OVER TOOK HER. SHE HAD COMPLETELY MISSED EYTAN AS SHE RECOILED, BUT HER GASHES BLED. HER LEFT SIDE NEARLY DRENCHED IN BLOOD. THE SNOW BEING HURTLED TOWARDS HER STUNG QUITE A BIT. SHE WAS UNFOCUSED AND WOULD MOST LIKELY DIE, BUT AREGATLAM FAINTED MEANT THEY NEEDED HER. EVERY STEP WAS HESITATED. EVERY MOTION WAS RETHOUGHT. STRATEGICALLY SHE WENT FOR THE 'KILL'. SHE ATTACKED ophelia. ARI GALLOPED AT HER. SHE SLID TO A SUDDEN STOP BEFORE HER. EASILY, SHE REARED UP. SHE THREW HER FRONT LEGS UP AT HER CRANIUM. SHE KEPT STEADY BALANCE ON HER BLOODIED HIND LEGS. THROWING HER HOOVES UP AND DOWN. SHE HOPED TO HIT THE MARES FACE AT LEAST ONCE. SHE LANDED BACK ON ALL FOURS A JUMPED FORWARD. MAYBE ARI'S STRENGTH COULD MOVE THE WHITE UNICORN. NOT MOVE, BUT KNOCK BACK.

ARIADNE'S SILKEN FIGURE REBOUNDS FROM STRIKING AT THE FEMME. STRONG LEGS SPRINT AWAY FROM EVERYONE AS SHE STANDS AT EAST 10 GALLOPING STRIDES AWAY FROM EVERY HEART THROB. MISFITS.

SHE MUTTERED WHAT MAY BE HER LAST WORDS. These misfits will be the death of me. Maybe not now. Maybe not in a few moments. In the future.."

OOC: Birch's tree missed her, but instead, his should rams into her. Bruises will be there soon. Hiss hooves scraped her fur away, and some skin as slight scratches appeared. They fazed her slightly. Ktulu's magic worked, but maybe not as powerful as she had hoped. Ari moved to her left and Ktulu's horn peirced her shoulder creating a huge bloodied gash, then her stomach to leave a nifty scratch, and then her hind quarter only to streak a bundle of hair off. Since Ari had recoiled to her right, Eytans attack was missed entirely, but the visions he flashed in her mind made her slow. She galloped to Phi and reared infront of her. She threw her hooves at Phi in hopes to at least hit her head once, for this motion was repetitive. When she got on all fours, she did a war horse manuver and slammed her body into Phi hoping to knock the mare back some, or get her unbalanced. She then galloped about 10 strides away from the cluster, but still very present.

Ophelia watched ARGETLAM fall, and a twisted smirk crossed her lips for the briefest of moments. She was unaware of what effects Tinek’s blast had on his massive form as she was already scanning, preparing herself for a new challenge. A satisfaction and pride filled her heart as her initial tactic was working – isolate and knock them out one by one. The alabaster hybrid spied her sister in the distance along with Birch, who she had previously assumed dead in the snow when he told her to fuck off so long ago. She was pleased to see that he was up, alive, active and fighting on their side. Murdock was also not difficult to miss with his stunningly emerald accents, and their two enemies were a very hairy stallion and short equine. Well, comparatively short, of course. Ophelia was rather tall and long legged with a spiraled, pearly horn, and her build was a union of lithe warmblood with a Spanish musculature though those corded fibers ran slender and lithely along her bones.

The strange equine stood a hand shorter but was of the same base coat coloration. However, this equine had dark tresses and a strange spotting pattern that reminded her of Mauja. A strange shadow cast on the ground with feathers instead of leathery, solid wings, and she looked up, squinting in the brightness of the sun. Irma? Ophelia furrowed her brows and turned her gaze to see Mauja walking along the borders of their battlefield, and she wondered why he was here. Since they had met each other in their dreams and her memories had been restored, she had not shared words with the Frost Heart.

Focus.

Other than coloration and her equine species, the strange mare was entirely unknown to her; no other distinguishing features could be identified, so Ophelia moved in tentatively closer, entirely uninjured at this point as ARGETLAM had fainted before she could receive damage. What she did not expect then was the vehemence in which this stranger came after her, and the mare’s ears tilted to the side in slight irritation. What had Ophelia ever done to her to deserve such wrath? A battle yes, but in Ophelia’s mind, this mare was practically frothing at the mouth with madness, and they had never even seen each other before! A bloody hip flashed as the mare charged her direction, and Phi’s toes splayed on the ground, muscles quivering and tense for immediate action. From their distance, ARIADNE would be able to predict her direction and alter her course, but if Ophelia timed everything just right, then the mare should not be able abandon the attack – at least not gracefully, right? She prepared her body to leap to the left as the mare continued to come at her, head on.

When ARIADNE slid to a stop in front of her, the next action was not difficult to see. Her weight was already on her hindquarters, front end rising, so Ophelia had plenty of time to react lest her skull get pummeled by solid, equine hooves. How was the mare balancing on that injured, bloody hip? So many questions with too little answers and much too little time. She was already balanced to leap to the side, so she did so without hesitation, hind legs propelling her slightly forward and to the left. ARIADNE’s hooves were avoided except for a scuff along her right shoulder blade, and Ophelia reached her arched neck around quickly and snapped at ARIADNE’s shoulder blade with her teeth as the mare was presumably still in the air (if she landed quickly enough, perhaps the bite would have a chance of landing on her crest), balancing. From leap to bite, Ophelia moved quickly, never lingering very long or waiting to see if an attack would land.

Leaping to the left placed Ophelia on ARIADNE’s right side, head to tail at least for that split second, so when ARIADNE leapt forward, the hybrid was already out of range. What surprised her then was the fact that ARIADNE galloped away. Why was she running from battle? Tinek, irritated that the dance of combat was interrupted by fleeing, followed after the equine mare, silver wings opened wide. He parted his jaws and dove toward the spotted female, sending out a blast of half shock and half frost aimed along her spine. The silver dragon quickly regrouped, not keen on leaving Ophelia out of his crimson gaze for too long.

A light bruise from ARIADNE’s hoof formed beneath her pale skin and the hair was chipped from that location, but the area did not bleed – only ached slightly. Movement of her skin across bone was a brief sting, but she carried onward, cantered toward their other opponent, LOCKET. Ophelia tilted her tulip ears against her skull tightly, tossing her head in challenge as she closed the distance between herself and the hairy stallion. She approached from LOCKET's right and leaped forward, jaws open to try and catch his crest on top of his shorter frame. However, Ophelia had no opportunity for mistakes, so she reached out with the light that resided in her from the lost stone, trying to wrapping around LOCKET's mind. With her magic, she attempted to remove any memory from the split second of her leap onward, hoping that without those memories, he could not defend himself from her attack.

[[[(2/3) - (2 companion uses - 1 magic use) - (897 words)
- Ophelia prepares when Ariadne comes at her from across the field and leaps to the side to avoid her hooves while she rears.
- Ophelia reaches out to her right to try and bite Ariadne's shoulder if still rearing or crest if she landed on all fours
- One of Ariadne's hooves scrapes across her right shoulder blade, removing hair and bruising the area slightly.
- Ophelia is already out of the way when Ariadne leaps forward.
- As Ariadne runs away, Tinek follows and tries to blast her back with frost/shock.
- Ophelia lunges at Locket from his right and tries to bite the top of his crest (uses magic here to remove any memories of her leaping/being nearby)]]]

LOCKET nimbly danced to the right as Murdock neared him, avoiding the brunt of the attack so the flesh of his right shoulder merely brushed against the unicorn’s chestnut hide. His teeth, however, made some purchase on the tender flesh of the warrior’s neck, and he found the unpleasant taste of blood lingering upon his tongue. Frustrated, the Pegasus leaned back as his hooves rapidly neared the lush green earth, white wings spreading to catch the cool air and slow his descent. He was sure he had been quick enough to catch his opponent unawares, but the chestnut was quicker than he had anticipated.

Silver hooves touched down onto the dew-slick grass, skidding a ways before finally coming to a halt a few feet away from LOCKET. Murdock spun around quickly, tall grass swaying around his body as he pulled his wings in against his sides. His heart hammered against his chest as he faced his opponent on foot, looking him in the eye for the first time as they were on level ground with one another. It was thrilling to be in the midst of battle, so close to danger with the temptation of victory lingering on the horizon. Behind him, the angered cries of the foolish outcast rang out above the din, and he turned his head to glance toward Ktulu and Birch as they advanced toward the mare.

Though he had the advantage of wings over his grounded adversary, Murdock felt as though it wouldn’t be right for him to fight from the skies. He would easily be able to strike the unicorn from the air while receiving few injuries, but he was honorable enough to stand and face his enemy on even grounds. Just as he was about to make his next move, the comforting warmth of summer was shattered by a cold gust of wind that brought with it a flurry of snow. LOCKET’S slender body was obscured before him as the icy flakes swirled around, blotting out the pale blue sky and blinding his enemy as he fumbled about in the white-out. This unexpected assistance from his ally was greatly appreciated, and Murdock was able to swiftly approach his opponent head-on beneath the blanket of white.

As he drew near to the unicorn, his eyes caught the movement of the chestnut’s right leg as he stomped the earth. His steps faltered slightly in confusion, watching in surprise as the soil began to ripple and bend. Like a mole burrowing through the earth, the tremor sped toward him, shaking the grass with an echoing rumble. Spreading his wings for balance, Murdock stumbled to the left. His legs parted in an effort to steady his body, the vibrations shaking his knees and distracting him from keeping an eye on the chestnut in his desperation to remain upright.

Finally regaining his balance, he glanced up just in time to see the slender unicorn barreling toward him. The chestnut’s light build gave him the advantage of speed, but Murdock was still quick enough to step to the right out of the Arab’s path. A flash of white against the monotonous green of the fields caught his eye, and he turned his head as Ophelia cantered toward them. He dipped his head slightly to his leader as she leaped toward LOCKET, her jaws aiming for the chestnut’s crest where Murdock’s own teeth had landed moments before.

Pivoting to the right on his forelegs, his dark haunches swung toward his adversary as the Arab galloped past. Leaning forward, he spread his wings for balance as he kicked out with his hind legs for LOCKET’S left side, aiming to strike him on his left hip. Hopefully he would be able to hinder the Arab’s movement and buy himself some time to get re-positioned. Before him, the grim scene of battle was splayed out beneath the calm, cool sky, appearing so out of place below the majestic cliffs that rose up from the rolling hills of green. He grit his teeth as he turned away from the confusion of war, looking toward the unicorn to see what damage he may have done.

(Summary: Murdock lands a short ways past Locket and turns to face him. He is set off balance by the War Stomp, but steps to the right as Locket charges toward him. He spins around to the right and kicks out for Locket's left side, aiming to strike him on the left hip.)

He stands alone in the middle of a battlefield- untouched by those surrounding him. ARIADNE has fallen back from him now and flecks of her blood have come to his attention. Blood is everywhere, all around them. His storm subsides, having done its work. The ground is now coated in a thin sheet of snow in the areas where ARIADNE and LOCKET had stood. As the last flakes fall to the rough dirt of the foothills land, he hears the sounds of their galloping across the field. There are cries everywhere. Everything is sound, free and full of fear. Birch does not feel the fear.
His metal-wrapped hoof strikes the earth like a spade, leaving a dent in its suddenly frigid surface and causing snow to splash up around his legs. He feels the chill up to his knees- feels the rush as the cold fills the gouge-like stripes across his cannons.

In the distance, ARIADNE gallops away from the cluster of fighters. A wicked frown passes across his lips; a sad sort of relief settles in the pit of his stomach. She is alone, surrounded by friends or even allies. Her vulnerability while so apart from the fight makes her the easy target, now. Shame on her for thinking such a thing of him, he thinks with an inward grunt.

His gallop is slow in comparison to all others populating the field, but the thin layer of grass, grown fresh and green in early Tallsun, and his own snow, now settled on the earth, muffles his sound somewhat. He feels the heat of the sun on his back as he runs towards the mountain and the lone mare. She will feel his hate of life and his longing for death all in one blow.

He does what he can to run up to her left side; leans onto his well-built left legs and attempts to ram into her side. His chest tenses and strains, suffering from the new bruising, as his neck bends in protection for whatever she might try. His tree, rough and sturdy, hopefully scrapes her side as he moves on, but he cannot stop to see the effect. He must go on, he urges himself. He must persevere, he insists. Insists until he is past her only slightly- insists until his body leans carefully forward onto his forelegs and his weight shifts to the sturdy pole of his lifeplant. Two, clear hind hooves take to the air and strike out twice in rapid succession, aiming for her left back end. There is a flash of fury in his white eyes as the sun, which seems to be dying as it casts long shadows across the field. But it is newly born, as is the day- as is this victory to come. He is certain of this, as he feels the firmness of the earth fill in beneath his landing hooves and continues on and away from the battlefield.

He is sure, even as he turns to launch himself into the fray, to gallop before Ophelia, his leader in white, his savior from the snow once in the Frostbreath Steppe. He is sure as he twists around the battlefield and slides towards Ktulu, the enchanting dark constrictor. He is in the middle of it all, strong and severe. He is power.

Cloven hooves left the pale ground for better green grass, the little storm that had once hampered his view had now dissipated and all of a sudden the battlefield opened up to him. Light flooded into his vision and for a moment he could see the black form of MURDOCK in triumph, his war stomp appeared to have done the trick of unbalancing him. Tail was held high in his Arabian nature and teeth gritted as his orange chest neared the enemy. It all happened in a manner of seconds. His ground shattering stomp had finally run out of gas and the pegasus regained his composure just in time, the wild charge of the warrior missing it's target much to his frustration and chagrin. At least he had found his opponent now and was out of the strange blizzard. Dainty hooves dug and scrambled against the lush ground, bringing his gallop to a halt.

Something white flashed in the corner of his eye and he turned to see OPHELIA cantering towards him, legs stiffened and then ... Nothing. Locket stood motionless as he tried to remember why he was so tense, preparing for an attack that he couldn't remember. Gaze swung to the left in panic as eyes frantically looked for the ebony pegasus before the blood covered his neck. The teeth of a white mare were crushing, he squealed in both surprise and pain, fumbling with his hooves and stumbled backwards. Forelegs slightly leaving the floor and all he wanted to do was get away from this snow demon who had appeared from nowhere. Alabaster ears slapped back and he was hardly given time to breathe. This time he could see the attack coming, body already in motion, he held his breath as he turned his body out and took the kick on his fleshy left rump instead. Wincing as the hooves made contact, predicting he would be bruised there for a while. However, better bruised than a broken bone.

Room, he needed more room to manoeuvre and he attempted to dance out to the right with his mind reeling at what had just happened. Hopefully in some space his gaze turned to the pale OPHELIA in confusion, how on earth had he missed her coming? Even with her sharp Warmblood build no one could be faster than the eye could see, did she have some strange speed enhancing power. Or was it something more complex. The issue gnawed at him as he took a quick turn and headed back into the fray, hit and run tactics wouldn't work here. Not like the fight he had with Archibald when he ran rings around the stomping draft. He'd also bruised his left rump and even further damaged his right crest, the blood mixing into his pretty curls and matting them together. His back end lost a little power due to the injuries, but he hoped he'd still be agile enough to get a shot off.

Locket targeted his first opponent, OPHELIA, hoping to use his lithe agility to dance lightly off his cracked hooves and that the alabaster fae before him wasn't using some sort of speed magic. She had done something that was for sure. Eyes squinted as the sun flashed into his gaze before teeth were unveiled from behind snowy lips. He hoped she had remained somewhat in the same position as she once was and aimed a lunging bite for her right crest, praying to exact some revenge before plummeting onwards, still wincing from the pain of his injuries and drops of blood left a trail behind him. If he was successful in cantering past, Locket dug in his forelegs and lashed out with his rear. Hoping his second attack would reach her face before they retreated back to the ground.

The warrior's mind was constantly reminding himself to breathe as he attacked, to try to ignore the pain the best he could and think his way through each motion. MURDOCK was next. Locket kept the momentum of his charge up, hoping the speed his lithe body produced would be quick enough to find MURDOCK in the same position. Back legs dug in underneath the panda boy with a grunt of pain as his rump protested, clumps of grass flying everywhere. Forelegs lashed out in a low rear as he aimed his attack for MURDOCK'S shoulder and being careful of the feathered wings. Desperately hoping his attacks had found their mark.

It took all his might to take on two all by himself, he knew ARIADNE had her hands full and the feel of the battle felt almost dire. Was this the kind of helplessness a warrior felt when his Leader was absent and the odds were stacked against him. At least the young Locket could go away from this battle in the knowledge that he had stood and fought valiantly; no matter the outcome.

[w/c: 818] [Magic Uses: 1/2] [Injuries: Further damage to right crest. Bruising to left rump]
[Summary: Locket is left wide open from Ophelia's magic and is subsequently hit by her attack and suffers a gash like injury to his right crest. Locket then stumbles backwards trying to get away from her and lessens the blow of Murdock's kick by turning his fleshy rump in to take it instead of his hip bone, leaving him bruised. Locket then attempts to make a quick dash out to the right before turning back and aiming a lunging bite for Ophelia's left crest, bucking at her face as he passes her before heading off in hope of injuring Murdock's right shoulder by performing a low rear.]

Ktulu's horn was met with resistance from ARIADNE's flesh, which in the end gave way to the sharpened point of her red tipped horn. More red was added in the form of the outspoken mare's blood as it rushed forth. Hooves kept churning against the snow laden ground and the strain in her neck continued as her horn moved down the length of ARIADNE's body until, finally, she broke free. The dark mare cantered in a wide arc, her crimson eyes now searching over those who remained with her and the one who had joined. Delicately shaped ears snapped back against her head as the bitch ARIADNE targeted her sister. Flat teeth ground together as she surged forward in pursuit, her muscles rippling under her black coat. No one would lay a hoof on Ophelia and get away with it if Ktulu had anything to say about it in their everyday lives, and this battle wouldn't be any different. Whatever ARIADNE did to hurt Ophelia would be done back to her ten fold. She would beg for a swift and merciful death, should Ktulu have her way.

Her eyes flashed as ARIADNE reared before Ophelia, it didn't take a genius to figure out what the mare wanted to do. A good shot to the head would end most lives and the thought of Ophelia dying made Ktulu's gut wrench in a most uncomfortable way and she regretted even agreeing to her pale sister joining the fray. As Ktulu approached from ARIADNE's right she saw Ophelia leap out of the way, but that didn't make the mare slow her charge or prepare to be any less punishing. Her head lowered and turned slightly to the side as she prepared to ram her shoulder into ARIADNE's side. With any luck the mare would still be rearing and would be unable to protect herself from the attack, which would hopefully knock her off of her hooves completely. If, however, she did manage to come down and move out of the way in time she was prepared to throw a quick kick in her direction in hopes of clipping a leg. At the same time Ktulu had faith that her sister would capitalize on whatever advantage she was given. If ARIADNE had to stumble to right herself she expected Ophelia to take advantage.

The momentum that Ktulu had put into her attack kept her from stopping quickly, so instead she came back around and searched the crowd once more. Ophelia was no engaging Lockett as was Murdock, Birch .. well, she didn't know exactly who he was targeting but had the idea that most of their enemies would be avoiding him. Then there was ARIADNE, whom she had targeted from the get go who was now being ignored. "Birch!" She called to the giant tree stallion in hopes to get his attention. She then motioned her head toward ARIADNE as she continued to move. Hopefully he would catch her drift and they could attack her from both sides at once. At the very least she could hope Birch would scare ARIADNE toward her and she could ram her horn into the stupid mare's face and end her pathetic existence once and for all.

[[WC:538]] [[ Ktulu circles around after her horn attack on Ariadne and surveys the battle as she does so. She sees Ariadne attacking Ophelia and charges her, hoping to ram her body into Ariadne and knock her off balance. If Ariadne moves out of the way she will cow kick in whatever direction she goes in hopes of striking one of her legs. The momentum from her charge there keeps her from stopping right away so she circles around again. Seeing that Murdock and Ophelia have engaged Lockett, Ktulu calls to Birch in an attempt to set up a double attack on Ariadne. ]]
