these thoughts of mine

Just a few rays of sunlight protruded from the horizon as dark clouds swallowed any remaining light as dusk was approaching. A tranquil breeze blew eerily throughout the the leaves of the forest, creating an ominous howl. This sent chills down her spine as the placid breeze gently caressed her chestnut locks. Selene had just arrived into his new medium and was surprisingly curious. Cautious but assertive steps broke the reticent silence, as alert ears were heaved forwards. Selene was always one for traveling and getting herself into risky or dangerous situations. She wasn't sure what she was getting herself into or where she was headed, though honestly she didn't seem to care. A deep sigh chorused from her lungs as a massive pair of wings lifted into the air, highlighted by the now moonlit forest. Solid black in color they were almost imperceptible against the somber wooding. She pondered her thoughts wearily. How fatuous of her to abandon such a secure abode! She couldnt help but leaving behind another "home" one of which was temporal. This is all she had ever known, a home was never permanent, always temporary. Now here she is wandering a forest which oddly intrigued the mare. After stretching her colossal set of wings, she tightly packed them close to her body to avoid knocking overhanging vines or branches. The atmosphere was full of life even in nightfall, as a humble grin formed around her delicate maw. She was thankful that the dreadful and unpleasant heat of the day had vanished for now, admiring the moon carefully hidden by the canopy. As she trudged lazily along, her thick almost masculine build rippled underneath her crimson pelt. Careless lethargic eyes drooped downwards towards the earth. She had been traveling for quite some time now and it certainly showed. This endless search for a home was almost gut wrenching for her, and she hated it with a passion. As fatigued as she might be, she was all the more capable of defending her self and if needed, to fight. She enjoyed sparing, it excited her and gave her a marvelous rush of a adrenaline that she craved. As for now, she sought a comfortable place to rest her aching muscles and tendons.

CORSAIR

The Captain had once again found himself in the maze of wood known as the Threshold. The only reason he had come to the dreaded place was because the Pirate band he led was short on members. The Threshold was the perfect place to be recruiting members, since it's the area all new horses pass through to enter the rest of Helovia.

But Corsair still hated it, no matter the advantages.

He hated the way that the ocean breeze was not with him, the sand was not underneath his shimmering hooves, and most of all, the bay hated being so far from his beloved Cosette's touch. Corsair had found himself falling deeper and deeper in love with the taller unicorn every time he looked at her. But he knew it'd be bad for the band. If they were to not work out, then was the Captain to do about it? Awkward crew meetings didn't sound like much fun to the stallion, that was for sure.

Corsair decided it best to push any thoughts of Cosette out of his mind - just for a little while. The bay had recruiting to do and by Gods he was going to do it before the sunlight had left the land. Being Captain of the Pirates meant that it was his duty to guard the borders of their stretch of beach and protect the band from any harm. He couldn't do that if he was out looking for more members to add to the band, so the stallion would try to recruit one member or so, then get back to the beach as quickly as possible.

A new scent came to the bay as he slowed his pace to a stop. This smell was not Basin, Throat, Foothills, or Edge. It was rogue. Corsair knew this to be the smell of new blood in Helovia, so he followed it's trail, a summer wind dancing through his dark mane, sending corks and mane flying wildly. Sweat glistened off the bay's coat, glad for the second relief he had gotten from the breeze.

The Captain didn't trek far before coming upon an unfamiliar face. It was a pegasus mare with a decent build. Her firey, chestnut coat was eye-catching against the green color scheme of the Threshold, and Corsair became all the happier about being the first to spot the newcomer.

"'Ello, lassie, me name's Corsair, buccaneer o' tha sea an' Capt'n o' the Pirate band that resides on tha shores o' tha endless blue," Corsair smiled brilliantly, the sun catching his teeth so they glistened white perfectly. A warm gaze was found in his deep blue eyes as he approached the mare from behind, not thinking of scaring her. "Ye look a bit lost. What's ye name, lass?" He inquired in a friendly manner, pulling himself up to his full height. Any tired ache the bay had felt was clearly not apparent on his features, years of acting had taught him to hide fatigue well.

these thoughts of mine

Shier fatigue was beginning to take its tole on the fiery chestnut mare. She shook her extensive ardent locks, almost seeming to shake away any tension that had built up internally. A vertiginous sensation seized all of her senses, in that moment she knew she needed to find a decent shelter. Selene was fairly intelligent and knew how to survive on her own. After all she had lived a solitary life the majority of her existence. An abrupt snap of a twig caught her immediate attention, jerking her head upright in almost an instant. Swiftly she spun around, versatile hooves excavating soil sending it flying through the air. She seemed to have recovered quite rapidly from her dizzy state, and was prepared to fight. She was astounded when another equine like herself appeared from the foliage. He was fairly handsome, a rich bay coat that glittered among the moonlight reaching from the tree-line. She snorted loudly, as her muscular shoulders shuddered along with it. Threateningly she spread open her immense wings, the tips of the feathers sprawled open in intimidation. Flattening her ears tightly against her skull, she bared her teeth menacingly at the equine. Who was he to be following her? Or was he? Nevertheless, should i trust him? A strange, tender tone spilt her thoughts as she was snapped back to reality. He had a strange way of speaking and uttered peculiar regions that were unknown to her. He seemed no be of no threat, so she cautiously lowered her wings to ultimately tuck up close to her sides comfortably. She studied this stallion closely, admiring his coloring and his kind ways. How could he be so kind to someone he just met? Foolish horse, she thought. But amiable. He informed her of his name, Corsair. It suited him well. Then, she spoke with a tender tone that was smooth and fluent. "I do apologize for my aggressive entrance." Selene arched her robust neck into a half bow in a attempt to be polite. Being polite wasn't her best trait, but she decided to share the kindness. "Pleasure, Corsair. I am Selene." It flew from her velvet maw with elegance, as she blinked her deep champagne eyes with a hint of seduction. She loved to toy with stallions with her charms. "I assure you, I am anything but LOST," She emphasized the word purposely, though it was the truth. She was only passing through. "What are these foreign regions you speak of?" She tilted her head ever so slightly, a soft grin formed around the edges of her dark grey muzzle.

How amusing. The mare was hostile at her first glance of the Captain, and now she had taken on a more polite, flirty approach. Was she that unsure of how to react to meeting Corsair? Or was there more to the story hidden behind those pretty, chocolate eyes?

Now the mare, Selene, was adding a flirty bat of her long lashes to go along with her unsure politeness and smooth voice. Ever since Corsair had met with Cosette, he had stopped his normal flirting. She was always on his mind nowadays, which made it beyond hard to fool around with other mares. But do not be mistaken, he would always enjoy the thrill of flirtation, just not at this moment of his life. Not when he was still trying to figure out his feelings for Cosette.

The Captain decided it best to ignore any flirty movements from any young lassies until he had figured out Cosette. It seemed like a decent plan, but he still wasn't sure how long he could keep it up. "Tha endless blue? 'S jus' a beach. Wander there whenever ye'd like, but I'd stay away from tha Basin if I were ye," Corsair warned, flicking an ear in the direction of the Basin's land. The place gave him chills, and not just because of the cold. The unicorns there had always been so mean to his Pirates, so he didn't enjoy their company much.

"Nothin' in tha Basin but racist uni'rns. They'd a tear ye wings off at tha sight of ye, but everywhere else in this land is fine to roam," Corsair smiled weakly, wearily. His patience was wearing thin. If this mare needed not a home, he was wasting time on being there when he could be spending the night with Cosette and the band. Maybe they'd round up some rum and get lucky tonight...Well, they might, but the Captain had duties to fulfill. Getting drunk and playing around like that was not a part of his life anymore.

these thoughts of mine

A sudden pang of embarrassment hit her like a slap in the face as the lack of response shocked her. Stallions always returned the favor in flirting whether it was a simple compliment or playing along. A frown creased at the corners of her maw, as she oddly gained a new respect for Corsair. The fact that he ignored her almost completely in that manner only intrigued her even more. He kept a respectable distance, which was taken to consideration as selene took a few steps forwards to engage the conversation more accurately. Perhaps he had a mate? Or someone specific on his mind. It made sense now, that must be the reason. She extended her neck towards him, a glint of curiosity in her chocolate eyes. These regions he spoke of sounded rather fascinating and made her all the more willing to tang along. The endless blue. She imagined just as it was titled, and endless expanse of sand with magnificent crystal clear waters which overlapped the shore. She could almost hear the waves gently crashing onto the bank. Corsair continued explaining the regions of helovia as his black locks tenderly danced across his shoulder. He had a rather great taste in species, unicorns were indeed foul, racist creatures. She despised them with a passion wincing her eyes at the very word, she wrinkled her noise in absolute disgust. "Thank you for informing me, I will try my best to avoid the horn heads." A gamesome grin gently formed across her face as she pawed at the ground impatiently. She was anything but racist, though she was beginning to sound like it. Her wings lie comfortably at her sides as the tips traced the surface of the ground. It was odd for her to take such a liking to a complete stranger, but it was worth it. He basically offered a free tour of the surrounding territories, so hell why not? "Say, you wouldn't mind escorting me to this endless blue you speak of?" Her tone was respectful, but a tad bit demanding. Must she follow him to this unknown region? Sure the thought was intriguing, but who knows? It could be trap for all she knew. She bit her lip in confusion, debating on whether she should continue wandering the land and find a shelter on her own, or proceed with corsair? She didn't mind the solitary life, but trap or not the idea of a new realm excited her. With a coy toss of her head she swiveled in the opposite direction, looking back at the stallion with kind eyes searching for guidance.

(Ecckkk,This is horiffic, im so sorry. ):

CORSAIR

The Captain's weary blue eyes never left Selene's chocolate gaze. He held it like it was the only thing on Loorien keeping him alive. Her words intrigued the bay as he tilted his head up and smirked. This had been another battle won in his favor, in his opinion.

"It'd be a pleasure," Corsair said smoothly with a dip of his head. He turned effortlessly, then looked over his shoulder at Selene. "Stay close, lassie, an' ye shall be alright," the bay spoke, his deep blue eyes suddenly portraying life and exuberance. His hooves moved into a steady paced walk towards the endless blue, a smile sticking to his muzzle like glue.

Selene was a powerfully built mare with the great asset of wings. She would be great in battle, that was for sure. That was all that really mattered to Corsair, and the fact that she was friendly. They were the best traits for a Pirate to have, and Selene had them. The Captain truly hoped she'd like the endless blue, and eventually come to like it so much that she'd make it her home.

It was a far-fetched fantasy, but with the willingness of Selene, Corsair saw it as a reality. She'd make a fine Pirate and fit in well with the band. He was scared for Cosette, though. The mare was nice, but she didn't seem to fond of the horned. Cosette wasn't like the other horned, she was kind and soft, a real gentle giant. The Captain wasn't worried, though. He knew Cosette could befriend anyone, even the most racist of foes.

[ooc: corsair exits. i'll post a thread for you in the endless blue once you get your ranked changed (: ]
