         VARATH

But sometimes out of nowhere
There's demented sounds of laughter

After their meeting with the Moon Goddess, Varath decided that they should travel South and explore the land. No longer under their mother's thumb and their father's scrutiny, they were free! He found himself in a thick of trees that were dark and exciting, and he turned to his brother. "Do you want to make this our temporary home?" he asked curiously before pushing deeper into the woods.

Varath looked ahead and saw a massive tree, easily able to contain the entire herd in his trunk. He took off on a staggering, leggy canter and found a pool of water. The young colt looked down and gasped. "Blood stones!" he exclaimed, eager to go in, but he was afraid. He wouldn't tell Vadim that though.

         VADIM

twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
blinded by me, you can't see a thing

The meeting with the purple Moon Goddess had left Vadim a little uneasy. Yes he wanted magic, but why did he have to be separated from his mother? She was his food source when he didn't feel like nibbling on the stupid dried up grass. The colt's tail lashed back and forth as he followed his brother to the Gods only knew where. He quietly grumbled to himself at times only to bite down on his tongue to quiet himself. His brother would think him weak of he heard him complaining about their task.

Vadim looked up when Varath asked if the spot they were standing in would be good enough for a home. The blue and silver colt looked around before finally nodding. It was as good a place as any. "Yeah." he finally said then lapsed into silence. He stood there awkwardly, his tail still twitching back and forth. "What now?"

Varath had already gone off, leaving Vadim to scramble after him. "What?" He came to a stop next to his brother and looked down. Blood stones? He'd never heard of them before. Curiously, Vadim dipped his nose into the water to try and grab one of the stones.

         VARATH

But sometimes out of nowhere
There's demented sounds of laughter

When his brother gave a half-hearted reply to the forest being their new home, his ears slid back. A silver eye glanced over his dark shoulder. "What? Too dark?" he asked. With a roll of his eyes, he continued exploring and found a pool with a blood-red bottom. After exclaiming about blood stones, his brother finally decided to come look for himself, and he shrugged. "I don't know. They just look like blood."

When his brother reached in to try and grab one, Varath hissed and aimed to bite his crest with his teeth, trying to jerk his brother's neck back. "What are you doing?" he demanded. "You don't know what's down there or what those things will do. Better to leave well enough alone."

With a great sigh, he slid his gangly legs to the ground and grunted. Even he had to admit that this forest was lonely. "What if we went to go so what is at the Edge? Father always warned us against them. Maybe they are actually kind of cool." he said, getting back up again and shaking dirt from his black coat.
