THE PLAGUE
Snö
Morning. The sun was rising swiftly, a pale yellow disc, bleeding out ungracefully over the black sky quickly turning bruised purple around its brightness. Stars, thickets of them, poured out over the ebony velvet, glittering brightly, only slightly dimmed by the dawn's light.

It was a bitterly cold morning, already only a week into Orangemoon, the grass yellowing under her cloven hooves. It was high afternoon, bright, and still Snö was marveling at her baby brother's return. Still she regretted the runt returning from wherever he had been, but she may be able to make some use of him. How, she didn't know. It was another case of confusion to her. What she did know, however, was that Valentine needed guarding until she could put him into one of the cells with golden gates, and she could eat and rest peacefully.

As she grazed, steadfastly ignoring the world around her, her thoughts were running. First, over Mauja and her's talking, and then to their spar. Snö recalled with a slight smile of Mauja wanting to return to the Edge as well. It felt her feel more... like she was actually related to him. Who knew that her and the Frostheart shared something in common? Snö wouldn't say she loved him- no, she was nowhere near that. But she respected him even more than usual. Vaguely she hoped that he respected her and her voluptuous body in the same way, realized his little girl was growing up.

The sun inched higher as she grazed, enjoying the peace of the morning soon to be shattered by a revelation that would break the newfound peace between her and her father.

Haunted by my eyes,
the way they hold your attention,
even in the loudest silences.

The Basin was bitterly cold, a shiver ran down the antlered mare's back. Her eyes were studying the landscape, it was a smile just as bitter as the temperature that settled on the mare's lips. With no feathers and such a petite build, the cold did not fair was with the mare. Her feelings for the Basin, that had quickly become her home, where entirely different. She loved it here, and was happy that she had chosen these unicorns to become her brothers and sisters.

Picking her hooves up, she began a light trot, no destination in mind, just to check out the activity in the Basin. It was the morning of a speculator sun rise, the sun was starting to spread what little warmth it had through the Basin. She stopped briefly to soak up the heat of the sunlight. The rays shone down now her back, she felt a shiver of delight. The sun was blessed relief from the frozen air. Her eyes closed now, enjoying the sun's light and it's warmth. She knew that if she really needed warmth she should go see Crash, he was always willing to share with her after all. She smirked and even gave a single chuckle to herself. They had advanced in the relationship and where technically together. Only there wern't going to be any Crash juniors running around for a very long time. Arah knew that she would be a terrible mother, happily strangling her own kids when she lost their patience with them. Well, maybe not that dramatic, but Arah knew her strengths where not in motherhood. They where better elsewhere, like stealthiness and gathering information from others. This was why she had volunteered as a phantom after all. Opening her eyes she smiled around the Basin, watching the basin slowly light up with the sun was truly amazing. She loved being the early bird to watch the rest of the world rise after her...it was a simple pleasure of hers. She had no idea why she enjoyed it, she just enjoyed the quiet and the time to think by herself without other requiring something from her.

Feeling a little better about the cold, she continued on her path of indecisiveness. She left a trail of steps behind her, easily trackable. She didn't care however, she still felt safe in her home...even though this was where she was stolen from. A smirk had replaced the smile. She was feeling smug about the improvement of her body temperature. Her eyes where still set ahead when the scent of the mare reached her. Arah set off following the trail, eyes seeking out the mare. When they settled on the the other unicorn she smiled. She hated the equines after on stole her, she didn't like them being in her home. She called out a soft nicker, to alert the other mare of her presence, and carefully approached. "Beautiful morning, isn't it?" Asked Arah dipping her antlered head towards the mare.

Notes; Thought it would be cool for them to meet as they are both Phantoms.

Above the frosted lands....

Down sinks the sun,
the day is undone,
lost to the stronger night,
once again the stars alight.

From the shadows begins to spill,
the life of spirits once laid still.

Up and up they lurch from the snow,
Wrestling with the star's dim glow
Multiple colors all in an array
Swirling and twirling to banish the day.

Bringer of night, bringer of night.
Call forth the one who haunts us the most.

From the faint ghosts rises a face,
Hardly tangible, yet still there's a trace.
And from the ice, out pops a head
One that has long since been dead.

He scrambles on out, the spirits align,
Reshaping a face much more divine.

Forward he lurches, unused to the limbs,
Finding a much tougher struggle begins.
Forgotten are the days he strode on the earth,
Far too long he has wasted below in the dirt.

Large and cunning, the pegasus of night,
Black and bedazzled with small shining light.

A smile crowns his lips, cheerful with glee,
Finding too ladies to play with you see,
Elegant and handsome, a jackal at heart,
Approaching the racists in the dark.

"My ladies, what an evening I bring,
Does it not make your heart beautifully sing?"

Bringer of night, bringer of night,
Let's show these girls the meaning of fright.

THE PLAGUE
Snö
Quiet, subtle thumps reach her pristine ears, and she lifts her head, still chewing, eyes making out a pretty mare. Vaguely Snö recalls this mare is a phantom, just like her. Interesting. She is beautiful, nearly pretty enough to be like Snö- but not quite as gorgeous. Antlers go leaping up from her skull, twining and twisting, but personally, the arrogant filly prefers the magnificent of the classical unicorn alicorn. Somehow, it is so much more attractive than the ugly horns of a deer. Oh yes, Snö is jealous, immediately of the phantom's beauty, and so she scorns her with her cold crystal eyes. Slowly, ever so slowly, her eyes run down and up Arah's voluptuous figure.

Absolutely oozing corrupt charm, Snö smiles slowly, lip curled slightly in mild disgust. "I am Snö. And you are?" She pauses, and then adds, more to get some sort of reaction out of Arah than anything- "Not really. It's so cliche." Snö flutters her eyelashes charmingly, as if the contradictory appearances could change the sourness of her words. But it couldn't. The lady drops her head and grazes, flicking her tail, and not-so-discretely ignoring her.

More hoofbeats. Again, Snö lifts her head, this time in annoyance, prepared to lash out at whoever goes blatantly walking towards pretty mares with important things to do. This time, however, there is something completely what she did not expect. A pegasus, tall and black and utterly grotesque. How the hell did he get so far into the territory without anyone noticing? And he- he dares to speak to her! Her of all unicorns!

"Fuck off," Snö growls, raising her 'brows at the black pegasus. "I do not spare words speaking in riddles." Pegasus. Even the word sounds wrong, dusty and dirty, an ugly swear, a yellow stain in pristine snow. She saw him, springing from nowhere like a hideous black shadow, a monster of despicable things. Slowly she turns on her haunches, dropping her head. "Move it, asshole. You are trespassing on territory of the Aurora Basin, home to unicorns and only unicorns. I would suggest move before you lose your dignity, lost to a little filly."

[It's rusty x) But it's up!]
