The GOD of the SUN

Burn the whole world down

The God of the Sun was in rare form as he strode along the beach, leaving rings of glass in his wake as his hooves super-heated the sand. In the presence of his power, the tides receded despite the late hour. Fire plumed from his body in long, swirling tendrils, curling around his two, twisted antlers. When his cleft hooves sank to a halt, the god stared hard at the horizon, musing over matters that were far too close to his heart for comfort.

What he needed now was a distraction, and a damn good one. What better way to be entertained than to watch mortals struggle against a foe much too great? To watch the determination and hope in their eyes drain when injury and pain settle into their very real bones. Thus, the God of the Sun began his work, breathing fire like a dragon into the sand while drawing it upward. Moments later, a glistening, glass tower pierced the sky, and he started to mold it carefully.

A monster stood in the endless blue, made glass with fire burning inside, reflected outward through the crystal panes. It appeared to resemble a bear with massive jaws of sharp, pointy fangs and claws on huge paws. The God of the Sun then leaned forward, touching his muzzle to a glittering surface and exhaled the breath of life.

Glass eyelids snapped open to reveal sockets burning with fire, and it roared, the sound unnatural and metallic. The bear rose up onto its hind legs, the movement halting and grating as joint slid against bare joint. When it came crashing down, the monster made indentations in the ground large enough to fit three horses across, and they would have to leap out of the chasm.

The beast waited at the side of the god who burned like a small pony in comparison. "Anyone brave enough to face this demon will be rewarded," he called out, the sound echoing around the small caverns and rock. "You may all work in tandem." Perhaps a few would surprise him, and he would grant them something... special.

Welcome to the God of the Sun's quest drop! He will be rewarding light, fire, normal companions, armor and such to the winner(s). One winner will be chosen automatically with a maximum of two winners if two players do an exceptional job.

This drop is based on a maximum, unknown number of health stats or hit points of the monster. Certain types of attacks and certain magics pre-existing have pre-determined number of hit points.

Only characters with light, fire, armor, or other such magic on the wishlist for more than 1 month can win, but anyone can participate to help their fellow man from getting burned to death.

You work as a team with every member present.

This will consist of three rounds. Failure to participate in all three rounds will have your character status be determined as "knocked out". They will be unable to be a winner, but are still a participant.

When you make your first response to this drop, you may go ahead and make your first attack; this will be the first round, so there is no "introduction" per say.

Please summarize your attack(s) at the bottom of your post for ease of calculation.

Good luck!

Haunted by my eyes,
the way they hold your attention,
even in the loudest silences.

The reason she was here at the beach in the first place, so far from the Basin, was that she had never been to any beach before. The Basin's phantom had started her journey a few days ago. Once she arrived, Arah was captivated by the sand and the cold water, so she had stuck around to walk along the shore for another day or so. After her long night and day though, she had grown tired and had slept through the day, happily curled up on the beach listening to the waves wash up the shore. At least she was well rested, ready to face anything...except for this.

'Curiosity killed the cat.' She sure as hell understood that expression now. She had heard the unnatural roar of the creature first. That was what had sparked the curiosity that coursed through her. Funny, it should have been fear that shot through her at the beast's roar. A voice spoke out moments after that mechanically roar had sounded. It told her that anyone who was brave enough to face the...beast would be rewarded. The only problem was that the mare had also heard the almighty crash of the beast's feet hitting the earth, deterring her momentarily. No, admittedly she didn't what what had caused the sound or how it had made the earth shake, but a flutter of nerves sat in her stomach. Arah knew that the gods offered prizes...rewards for those brave enough to take on their challenges. So she figured it must be a god that was creating a challenge for whatever sick reason.

For another sick reason or not, Arah wanted a shot at the prize.

She had no clue what the beast was, but how hard could it be right? Rising from the sand, Arah began to walk towards the direction of the terrifying roar. It was a beautiful night at least, it was slightly cold with the breeze but luckily Arah was used to worse after living in The Basin. Practically freezing to death at night unless she was curled up in her den. Her thoughts where focussed on the challenge ahead once though as another flurry of nerves shot through her.

She strolled along the beach, with carefully quiet footsteps. She wasn't sure if she would be able to take on the challenge yet, should she need to back away she wanted to be able too. She rounded a corner and when her eyes settled on the beast her mouth tumbled open. "Holy shit." It appeared Crash's bad language had rubbed off on her, no doubt the beast had also heard her. It was shiny in the moonlight, a kind deadly gorgeous charm was created. The beast was a bear standing at a colossal height, it screamed danger. Not just from the height either, no, Arah spotted the claws and the teeth on the creature. She wasn't sure what the name was for the creature's casing but it looked solid, in fact nothing about this bear appeared to be fragile. How dare the god plant this in her home, where her loved ones lived? She had already lost a family. She wasn't about to loose this one. With that thought, courage flowed through her. Yes, the nerves where still there, at the moment it was just her and the beast. But maybe she could distract it until back up arrived. She would willing sacrifice herself for those in this world.

For once she didn't try to introduce herself. The 'royal' blood in her came through, the niceness vanished and the cry for blood rang loud and clear. First, pin point what the bear can use as weapons. The most important weapon, a brain, it was alive. The claws, teeth, height, weight and it's indestructible casing all came next. Some of these could also be used against the beast. Weakness...every living being had to have a heart right? Her golden eyes locked onto the beast's chest craning her neck to see properly. Maybe she could use her antlers to take out a leg and topple the bear over? Might as well try it, she wasn't tall enough to reach the bear's chest. Her golden eyes locked onto the beast's back legs and she quickly moved into position on the left hand side of the beast.
Arah accepted the fact that she was crazy for taking on the creature. She summed up all the courage that had come to her and began a full blown tilt towards the bears back left leg. She hoped to pierce the hard outer casing or dent it, causing the animal pain. At the same time she hoped the impact would make the animal loose balance, whether from the pain or from the shock of being attacked. Bears always had better balance on their back legs compared to the front arms/paws.
Take out the rear end, topple the bear over. That was Arah's plan.

Notes;; Sorry! I didn't plan for this to be so long! ;_;
Words;; 828
Attack;; 1/3
Summarised Attack;; Arah is charging from the left side, hoping to hurt/injure the back leg and affect the bears balance, causing it to topple over.
Defense;; None

[Note: This is doppelganger Vermillion. >D]

Ya'll ready for this?

Vermillion moved like a flash across the sands, his cloven hooves leaving small imprints as his slender androgynous body hurtled forward. "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick!" He chuckled under his breath. He leaped to and fro, like a mogul skier, bounding off piles of sand to increase his momentum. His leonine tail was raised his behind him, almost like a cat, flickering in the opposite direction as his body wove back and forth, counteracting his momentum to aid in balance. As his bright emerald gaze finally beheld the monster of glass up ahead, a devilish smile appeared on his small muzzle. "That's what I'm talkin' about! Allons-y!"

And so it began, that the young uniquine began his charge.

As he raced across the sands, the fearless stallion saw another streak of white running towards the bear. He honed-in on her feminine curves almost immediately, and a cunning smile appeared on his lips as he ran. "What - a - babe" He mumbled between heaving mouthfuls of air. This was excellent! A monster, and a girl. Fan-fucking-tastic! But bear first, girl second.

Squinting his eyes against the bear, for the sunlight was glaring off of it's shiny body, the young stallion smirked arrogantly. Off-switch, he thought, for he hadn't seen the God breath life into the creature, and assumed that it must be controlled somehow. Watching Arah, charge towards the creature, as if meaning to knock into it's legs, Vermillion attempted to attack in tandem. Skirting around the crater the bear had caused (although Vermillion had not seen it do this), Vermillion attacked from the bear's right side. His nimble and skilled body leaped from the ground gracefully, aiming to land a'top the bears head, by using the flat edges of its body as stepping-stools. What he meant to do, if successful, was pause only momentarily a'top the creature, just long enough to position himself to leap off, and kick at the base of its skull, hoping to either crack its glassy body at the possibly weaker neck-joint, or fuck with its potential electronic configuration. Either way, Vermillion wasn't about to linger. Tail raised for increased balance, the uniquine stallion landed heavily behind the bear in the sand, and tucked and rolled like some sort of Hollywood ninja-assassin, to defend against a possible attack from the bear.

As he arched around to the right, positioning himself in front of the bear, slightly to it's left, he whistled to Arah; the paradigmatic lookin-good whistle. Although he was actually smaller than the mare, he held himself with great pride and confidence as he lithely moved across the sands, re-focusing his gaze on the glassy-bear.

"Oy Teddy!" He shouted, "Fancy a tea party?"

Attack: Runs towards the creature from the right - tries to jump a'top it's head by using the flat parts of its body as a platform (since he's so tiny o.O) while it's distracted by Arah. Tries to kick it in the back of the skull.
Defense: Tucks and rolls away.

Final position: Standings about 10feet in front, and to the left of the creature.

Hooves moved through the sand, a relaxed whinny encouraging his baby sister Sakura to keep up. she had wanted to play tag, a game the grown stallion had not played since he was a colt in the Oasis. For a special treat, he had brought her to the Endless Blue which happened to be one of his favorite spots. The sound of water always allowed the draft to think clearly. At his side ran a now two month old hellhound pup. Her ice blue eyes scanning ahead per her bond's instructions. After the meeting in the Edge, Aaron wanted to be alert should anything be different here. The coolness of the air was nice, but he soon found it quickly changed. The waters seemed a lot lower than they should of been for this time of day. With a snort he shortened his pace to allow Sakura to catch up. Something was indeed different. However a sly smile broke out as he spotted a figure he had only seen twice before. He should of noticed the rings of glass in the sand long before now. He stopped completely, grabbing Sakura's short mane to stop her as well as he watched the God of the Sun at work. What he created however made the grown stallion nervous at first. It looked to be a bear made of glass but with fire inside. Clearly the God intended on giving out a challenge.

It as then the almost pony like, at least next to the beast he had created, God of the Sun called out to those around. He indeed set forth a challenge to which Aaron was not going to compete in at first. He then looked to his baby sister and realized how eager she was to try. Well... We both long for things of fire and light.... Perhaps now is the time... we can help each other. He strode forward to face the demon creation. "My sister and I are not afraid!" With that he digs deep within, calling out the dragons of fire he had only recently discovered he could call upon. If this wasn't danger than what was?

With no time to spare he sends the first dragon forward, while ordering Alanna to stay back. Now if the pup was going to listen he did not know. He leaps into action himself right behind the first of two fire dragons. His plan is simple, melt the glass as much as possible. Use his own weight to break the glass, and the other fire dragon to melt more of the glass away on the right front leg. Hooves dig deep into the sand. He was not the only one to attack, as it seemed a unicorn mare also was taking charge from the left at the rear. He merely dipped his head down as she tried to attack the leg. Another unicorn also seemed to join the attack, more as a distraction of the beast than an attack. Aaron leaped forward as soon as he was close enough, aiming to smash right behind where he hoped his first fire dragon had gone and the second would soon be following.

[Summary: Charged forward, one Fire Dragon ahead of him and the other behind. Soon as he was close enough leaps hoping his first dragon hits the right front leg of the beast and the second dragon right behind him]

World's Edge Filly

It was rare that the filly got to spend time with her big brother. Well mainly because she was always seeking out her Daddy to learn whatever she could from him. After all you could never know to much about the position you one day wanted to be. Sure she had spent some time with Aaron before, as he allowed her to practice fight one him. He never attacked her, just tried to teach her what he knew. Those lessons had become few and far between since he was now preparing to start on the wall for the herd. However today she was right along side Aaron and his bonded pup Alanna. They had gone to the Endless Blue, a place the filly had never explored before. Aaron of course had started a game, taking off leaving Sakura to follow him. She rather enjoyed the game, giving chase to catch up to the pair. She didn't even notice when Aaron and Alanna both slowed down.

She didn't notice until Aaron grabbed her mane gently when she went to jump past him. It was then she saw why. One of the Gods... God of the Sun it seemed had made a challenge that a few others were answering. she pranced eagerly, ready to join in. It seemed her big brother realized this and answered the God's call "My sister and I are not afraid!" She watched as he, along with two others charged in. "Be careful Aaron!" she called after him while beginning to awaken her own magic. The filly played a bit differently. Instead of a physical attack like her brother, she was going to try and see just how well her new found magic could work. She instead sought out the mentality of the beast, trying to sooth him. If he was numb to pain, maybe the beast would injure himself and do the work for those around them... Or maybe even lose his will to fight them at all. Light green eyes sparkled as her magic was called into full action. This was the first time she had used it outside of just practicing on small animals in the Edge. Now she could only hope that it worked as well as it had on the animals of the Edge.

[Summary: Used her light magic to try and sooth the beast so it will either injure it's or lose the want to fight]

Lythe
Chasing butterflies and broken dreams

The night closed in on Lythe like the cold, unwelcoming hand of a cruel uncle and although his coat was growing longer for the cold months, he still shivered lightly in the chill air. Taking large, ground eating strides along the beach the stallion noticed with some apprehension how low the tide had gotten. Flicking his harks about he was met with silence and a tingle along his spine warned him of something that was not quite right. By all rights he should have ran, but where would he run to? He wasn't welcome in the Pirate band and the only friend he had was a part of it. So he ignored the little voice in his head that was shrieking at him to run away and scanned ahead of him with light amethyst eyes.

A sudden metallic roar sounded out along the Endless Blue and startled Ly into almost tripping and falling on his face which was not helped by the earth shuddering as some massive thing crashed down onto the sand. Every instinct in his body screamed to get as far away as possible from whatever it was and he was about to bolt when the voice of a god stopped him. "Anyone brave enough to face this demon will be rewarded," The voice was laced with the power of fire and the clarity of light causing Ly to correctly assume that whatever made the roar was some creation of the Sun God. "You may all work in tandem."

Now Ly was quivering with excitement, this was just like in the stories of old when a brave hero would face an impossible demon in order to gain the favor of the gods and receive a magical gift. No longer did Ly the insecure stand upon the sands, but a great and noble hero took his place. The stallion seemed to fall into this fantasy as easily as most acted as themselves. Then he was running towards the challenge, the gleam of excitement in his darkened purple optics. What creature could he possibly be facing? Based on it's earth shuddering abilities it was probably massive.

Massive didn't even begin to describe it. An enormous glass bear stood on the beach with the Sun God seeming to be the size of a mere pony in comparison. Taking a deep breath to steady his nerves, Ly observed four others who were apparently taking on the glass monster. There was a white mare who seemed to be attacking the bear's rear left leg, a shortish stallion who was... flirting? while he tried to jump onto the creature's head, another stallion was attacking head on with two firey dragons in tow while a young filly seemed to be working some kind of magic on the sidelines. Shaking out his long mane, Ly sized up the monster as he came in from behind, hoping that the other head on attacks would keep it distracted. Like the white mare, he went for a back leg and raced in from the right, swiveling his rump around, he sent his large dinner plate sized hooves hurtling towards what he figured was the equivalent of an achilles heel while a warrior's battle cry ripped out of his lungs.

[Summary: Ly attacks from behind the bear on the right side, aiming his rear hooves at what he thinks would be the equivalent of an achilles heel, hoping to at least cause some splintering and help get it off balance.]

The Sun God watched a few gather and then sauntered to a rock formation where he easily leapt on top to watch. He shifted a hip to the side and mused that the mortals had very little chance, but he would wait and see. Perhaps one of them would possess some sort of impressive quality.

10hp - ARAH :: The first attack was sound. The bear roared a strange, echoing noise when a set of antlers hit his leg. However, this beast was not made of flesh and bone, but of glass. He did not budge from his solid stance, but the antlers cracked the surface, a thin line snaking all the way up to his hip. In response, the monster lifted that cracked limb and stomped it down on the sand, hard. Particulates and harsh earth sprayed like the waves of the ocean, shaking the very ground. Black, sticky oil began to bubble up from the beneath its paw, making the sand hard to navigate in that area. He took a step forward and created a pit of tar.

45hp - VERM :: While distracted by the crack on its back leg, it felt hooves on the back of its neck, kicking him the hardened back of his skull. The glass bear threw his head back immediately, hoping to dislodge the gawky creature with hooves on the smooth texture of his neck. A small crack found down from his left eye, spiraling down the creature's forehead.

10hp - AARON :: The beat, distracted by Vermillion, took one solid hit of a fire dragon to his right leg, but the only damage sustained was a melting divot in the limb. With a growl, the glassy gaze shifted to Aaron, and he picked up the limb, avoiding the second dragon. With a grunt, the monster shoved its foot down, aiming to squash Aaron, but soon after, he was distracted by a strange sensation.

5hp - SAKURA :: Though not a beast with a brain, fire fueled its heart, and the will to obey the God of the Sun and battle drained, but only a little. It sighed heavily and looked around, glassy eyes looking toward the sea. With an almost lackadaisical stride, it lumbered toward the ocean, until...

20hp - LYTHE :: A stallion came from behind and smashed his hind hooves into its heel. A roar of anger emanated from its throat, and the monster howled, turning round and snapping at Lythe. A long crack ran up the back of it's leg, exposing some of the fire within. Now, with a cracked head and two back legs, the creature began to shed sheets of dangerous, sharp glass like a gelding with a thick coat in Tallsun.

Lythe
Chasing butterflies and broken dreams

Lythe smiled grimly as he felt his hooves smash into the glass and crack under the weight, but was only able to observe his handiwork for a quick second before the beast turned around surprisingly quick for a being so massive and started nashing those large glass teeth, probably hoping to catch a tasty meal. Being a large draft most definitely was a disadvantage in a situation like this and although he turned to run, the bear managed to catch onto his thick tail and while Ly the normal equine would simply tug futilely against the bear, Ly the hero lifted up his heels and bucked repeatedly, hoping to smash his rear hooves into the demon's nose to loosen his grip on his tail and maybe take out a few teeth.

Hoping that his attack had loosened the bear's grip on his tail, Lythe set his powerful hindquarters in motion and ripped himself away. Cantering out of range of the monster, Ly did a quick assessment of his injuries and that of the bear. He noted with surprise that his left side was slicked in blood from the glass shards that were now shedding off the demon in droves, and he felt their sting now that he had noticed them. There was a tar pit that had been created on the right side of the bear that Ly made a note to avoid. Overall the creature had two cracks on its back legs and one on its massive domed head. Seeing the damage that he had caused and the exposed fire brought a sudden idea to his mind. Since it was fueled by fire, it would make sense that if they could release the it, it might stop the beast!

"Hey everyone! We might be able to defeat this thing if we can release the fire inside it!" Although he had no idea if he was right or not, Ly started to look for his next target, wondering if he dared to attack the same leg again. It went without saying the bear would be on the alert and probably wouldn't let him do the same thing twice. Taking a deep breath to steady his nerves, Ly decided to take on the head. Coming in at an angle on the bear's left side, the black and white stallion became a blur as he built up as much speed as he could with his injured right side, hoping to gain more momentum and make him a slightly harder target to hit. At the last second, Ly jumped up and aiming his front hooves at the bear's left eye hurtled back down to the earth, allowing his full body weight to go behind the blow.

[Summary: Ly gets his tail caught in the bear's mouth so he bucks multiple times, aiming his rear hooves at the bear's nose hoping to loosen its grip and maybe take out a few teeth. He then gets out of reach then races in at an angle towards the left side of its head, jumping up Ly aims his front hooves down onto the bear's left eye with his full weight going into it.
Injuries: He has multiple glass shards imbedded in his left side.]

"Hey everyone" Vermillion murmured under his breath in a mocking tone, as he shot Lythe an unimpressed glare. Everyone? he wondered, looking at the group who had assembled. The cheerleader (He so nick-named Arah, since she was a babe), the idiot who was literally fighting fire with fire (of Aaron), the Baby and this chump. HA.

As Lythe spouted motivational phrases at the group, Vermillion the bad-ass super ninja did his own thing. He had spied the crack which had formed down the bear's back legs as well as the crack behind its skull. As the creature spewed black sludge onto the ground, Vermillion wondered just how much hotter this thing could get, before going supernova. Still...it was encased in glass...

The bear was currently turned with it's back towards the waves, as Lythe began bucking. "You just keep doin' what you're doin'" Vermillion shouted, as he raced towards the waves. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched Lythe try and kick at the creature's eye, and mentally willed the bear to keep his attention focused on the equine, and not on him.

The bear had a hot core - they could see as much, and yet it was encased in glass. Even as it shed portions of its 'skin', Vermillion wondered if there wasn't more that they could be doing, to help that big-boy out. Turning, in the waves, the uniquine began bucking furiously, doing everything that he could to hurtle water towards the openings in the bear's legs and neck. He reasoned that the water would turn to steam, and that if enough built up within, would force the glassy-confines of the bear's form to part. The salt from the ocean might also burn and char on the glassy surface - but Verm wasn't entirely sure if things made of glass skin, had nerves or not. But what the hell, worth a shot. After flinging as much water as he dared, before he caught the bears full attention, Verm dropped beneath the waves, coating his dusty-golden coat with sea water. Emerging, he raced around the bear, trying to slap the cuts on the back of its legs with his water-logged leonine tail. "YEAH" He roared, as he attempted to shake the remaining water from his coat onto the bear, before darting back into the waves. "Like that? Yeah you do! Come get some more!" He taunted, hoping the creature would be dumb enough to follow him into the water.

[Runs into the water, skirting the bear and the sludge, and tries to buck and kick water into the openings in the bear's legs and neck to create steam from within. Drenches himself in water, and hits the bear's leg with his tail and shakes on him, to get him wet. xD

Ending position: Standing 3 feet in the water, taunting the bear]

Haunted by my eyes,
the way they hold your attention,
even in the loudest silences.

The satisfying crack of her antlers splitting the bears leg made her smirk. Arah, only for only slit second, surveyed her antlers handy work. So maybe these beauties where a little better off to the traditional unicorn's horn after all. Then with the power of a thousand animals, the bear lifts it's injured paw up, the one she just hurt, and brings in back down to earth. The force tests Arah's balance as she struggles to stay on her feet, the real test through was the tar bubbling up the bears paw, and her hooves. She became aware of a searing pain on all four feet and ankles. Arah wasted no time, adrenaline helping her to ignore the pain, she leapt out of the pit of tar, being careful to take only a few small further steps in the pit, as a run up to her jump. Arah didn't risk 'flicking' the tar up to any other parts of her body. A grimace now on her face, she landed clumsily outside the pit of tar.

Once out of reach from the bears massive paws she took a quick second to survey herself. The pit had burnt away the majority of her beautiful white coat on the lower parts of her legs, the skin was pink and raw. Arah assessed that she had second degree burns, but that was nothing to the anger now burning inside her. "Alright, chubby!" She turned and watched the flame burning inside the bear, "you're going down!"

Dancing around the dangerous and hideous bear, she rushed into the waves. The salt water stung her burns, no, it made her burns burn. She moaned softly but focused on the attack. Everybody was injuring the bear, they where brining it down! She smirked in dark appreciation of the battle. Beside her someone was shouting at them to continue doing what ever they where doing. "Thanks Captain obvious!" She tossed him a grin over her shoulder, she was only joking after all. She bent down in the water and scooped up a mouthful of the disgusting sea water. Her brain didn't have time to register the flavour though. She began bolting towards the head of the bear, eyes narrowed in concentration, she zeroed in on her target. 'I'm thinking more of a direct attack.' She would smirk if she wasn't worried of loosing a single drop of water. 'I'm going to piss him off.'

Aiming carefully, then hovering for only a second, Arah began running as fast as she could antlers first towards the crack on the forehead, slowed down by her burns. She inserted her antlers into the crack, and then, once she pulled her antler out, she spat her mouthful of water into it, hoping to dampen the fire, but mostly to piss off the bear.

'Disgusting.'

She did this for a number of reasons.
1. The bear seemed distracted by The Captain in the water, and Brave guy near it's eye.
2. Water beats fire's ass, duh.
3. She figured that the splashes from The Captain where only doing so much. The flame was protected almost entirely by the glass but it seemed after some work it became fragile. Bits where already falling off the beast, slicing into everyone's skin. She was going to be getting out of there fast, she also cut small cuts from the glass.

The game plan now, mouth empty from all water, 'didn't think that through so well, did I?', was to lure the bear into the sea. Go Team!

Summarised Attack;; Arah charges out from the waves, with a mouthful of water. She aims for the crack in the face with her antlers, hoping to make the crack worse. Then she spits her mouthful of water into the bear.

Defense;; Leaped out of the tar pit, and gets second degree burns, but avoids them getting worse.

Injuries;; Second degree burns to all legs, below the ankles. A few cuts from the glass shards.

It was only a quick reaction that saved Aaron..... That and his kid sister's magic. As the ground shook around him, Aaron struggled to stay on his feet. The beast's foot had been a bit to close for his comfort. In fact the ground was now shaking so hard it almost made it impossible for him to walk let alone run. From the sidelines Alanna whined, wanting to help her bonded. However Aaron was not about to risk his companion against a huge beast like this. Soon as the shaking stopped he was off again. He needed a new attack point. He instead followed the pale unicorn towards the water at first, but circled around to try and focus on the left front leg or the beast. Once again he called on his dragons of fire, sending them both ahead of him at he leg of the beast. He moved right behind them so they would all attack in one single attack. Aaron charged forward, feeling the bits of glass hitting into his back the closer to the beast he got. His goal was simple, to slam his body into the left leg and try to break it. He was going to keep trying this should it not work. Maybe the fire dragons would weaken the glass and make it easier to break.

If anything he wanted to do this for Sakura. He had almost all he could want for magic and companions. but his kid sister? No she had much to learn. Where he was warrior minded she was a healing mind like her father. But if he could just defeat his beast and help her out, well maybe that would make him a good big brother after all. He would do this for any of his sisters, but since she was here this time would be for Sakura. It did not matter the pain he was in from the glass now in his back. Family come first. He would do anything for his family. Alanna whined again from the sidelines wanting to help her bonded, feeling the pain he was in.

[Summary: Used his fire dragons again, both aimed at the left leg, followed by Aaron trying to use his body as a battering ram to break into the glass leg.

Injuries: Few scrapes from trying to keep on his feet and glass shards in his back from the falling glass]

The GOD of the SUN

Burn the whole world down

95hp - LYTHE :: A broken tooth. A large shard of glass tumbled to the sand as a hoof caused a crack to spiral around the point. The beast tried to snap, but his bite missed. The horse already came around while his head was lowered, two hooves going to his eye. A large crack formed on the orb-like surface, and the monster stomped down hard with all four hooves, distracted until...

90hp - VERM :: Water. Most of the water ran down the uninjured plates of glass that made of the construction of his body, but when a lionine tail full of water landed in a back leg joint, steal hissed. The bear limped on the limb as it seemed to lose life entirely, crumbling and cracking like glass smashed with a hammer. It tried to limp forward but was met by...

55hp - ARAH :: The crack in the bear's skull widened massively, opening up to then be spat upon by more water! Fortunately the amount was much less than what the lion's tail held, but it was enough. White steam billowed from the crack and the fire behind one, cracked eye went out. The entire right side of it's face fell off like the side of a mountain, hitting the earth with a loud thud. Flames licked out from half of a glass jaw, and it waved its head wildly, hoping to burn those close. The monster could manage on three legs and with half a face, but...

50hp - AARON :: The large stallion came at his other leg. The two fire dragons cracked the limb but did nothing to quench the fire within. A small spiral was not terrible, but then the beast rammed his entire body into it! The crack widened and spiraled all the way, up into its hip, and the beast lowered his maw, spinning around and trying to catch each of the participants with the flames that spewed wildly from his torn jaw.

But still, it fought on, a powerful creature of flame and glass. Resilient as the earth it was made from and as wild as the fire that gave it soul.

 From Samaritan to sin

As the creature wildly spun fire, Vermillion hopped further back into the surf - his lithe and androgynous body safe from the flames. For a moment he almost felt pity for the creature...it was so badly broken now - a mere shell of the former torrential empire of glass that it had been minutes ago...but the feeling of pity did not linger within the small uniquine.

A dashing grin broke out across his light muzzle, as another idea yet him. "Now you're just showing off!" He chuckled heartily, as the bear continued to spew fire. Darting from the water's safety, Vermillion moved past the waves to where the sand was still dry. Turning around, and facing his rather tiny rump towards the beast, about 6 feet back, Vermillion once again began to buck towards the creature, this time throwing sand, rather than water. "Ashes to ashes!" He called in ringing tones, trying to aim the sand into the gaping cracks that had appeared via the groups effort. Perhaps he could douse the flames, the way one might dampen a campfire - first with water, and then with some noncombustible material, such as sand. Sand, when heated, would merely melt, perhaps causing internal wounds (if there was anything within the bear, to be wounded). Each time the bear would turn his way, Vermillion would, with great pomp and show, leap over the spewed fire, and begin kicking again. Although he was not muscular, his aim was true, and it was on that he relied, rather than heaving large quantities of sand.

[Summary, avoids the fire initially by hiding in the water. Then darts out and begins to kick sand into the cracks, hoping to douse the flames. He comically leaps over the fire as it comes near him ]

Lythe
Chasing butterflies and broken dreams

Lythe felt his confidence rise with each strike that landed with a solid crunch of glass and immense satisfaction when he hit the beasts eye. A slight panic set in when the demon started stomping around while Ly was still far too close for comfort and he couldn't avoid a shallow scrape across his right haunch before the bear was distracted by the small hybrid racing around throwing water into the cracks which allowed the tovero stag to slip away and plan his next attack.

Thanks to the adrenaline rush he didn't hear the comments of the other equines which would have absolutely crushed his confidence and made him doubt himself. As it was Ly only allowed himself two seconds to revert to his normal self and let the panic take him over. Taking deep breaths the stallion shivered as he observed the blood running down both of his sides now. Suddenly Lythe was angry. There was no reason for him to get angry, but he did and his eyes burned a deep violet. Shaking out his long black, white, and now red mane the draft determinedly made his way to stand directly behind the bear.

Thanks to his quick thinking he managed to avoid the flames that spewed out of the beast's split, broken face. Steeling his nerves, Lythe started running full tilt, wincing as the many cuts on his body were pulled and stretched over his taught skin. Ducking underneath the beast Ly had to crouch down slightly, hoping that the bear wouldn't be able to feel him racing past his belly and decide that he suddenly wanted to take a nap. As soon as he made it to the bear's front legs Ly planted his front hooves in the sand, trusting in the sand's ability to slide and sent his back daggers racing towards the bears jugular from underneath it.

Knowing that he was in a very bad position to stay in for an extended amount of time Lythe moved underneath its left side and ducked behind its fallen face to use it as a shield from the flames that could be coming his way at any moment. Suddenly and idea occurred to him and he sized up the distance from the half a head and the beast's exposed neck. Moving away from the demon Lythe took a hint from the white mare and little stallion and ran to the ocean to scoop up a mouthful of the briny water. Racing back he lined himself up with the chunk of glass and started running once again towards the bear, putting every last ounce of energy into this final attack. Using the mound of glass as a kind of stepping stone, Ly jumped onto it and then onto the demon's wide neck. Just as if he was trying to kill a snake, the stallion reared up, pointed his hooves down and smashed them onto the splintered base of what was left of the bear's cranium, hoping that it was cracked enough that the sharp edges of his daggers would be able to find purchase and penetrate deeply into the firey brain of the beasty. Bringing his head down close to the great domed head of the bear he spit the water down into the deepest crack he could find.

[Summary: Ly runs underneath the bear, desperately hoping that it won't decide to lie down on him and bucks, trying to send his hooves towards the bear's jugular. He then runs out from underneath it, using the fallen half of a face as a shield. Running a bit away from it, he scoops up some ocean water, jumps on top of the glass lump and then onto the bear's neck. Rearing up he points his hooves down and aims for a crack, hoping to drive them down, deep into the remainder of the bear's skull. He then finds the deepest crack on its head and spits the water into it in one accurate stream.
Injuries: Left side slicked with blood due to glass shards, a shallow gash on his right haunch and a few pretty minor burns.]

It's not the dog in the fight,
but the fight in the dog

Arah laughed as white steam billowed from the crack and the fire behind one, cracked eye went out. Arah knew she had just done a fair amount of damage to the beast. Just as she was about to scream an isnult at the beast, the entire right side of it's face fell off like the side of a mountain, hitting the earth with a loud thud. She only had a few moments to react! She began to run away from the glass, terrified of being crushed under neath it. What if she got stuck? Well no, she would get stuck, she would be crushed instantly. Her first fear was right. She danced away from the mountains pile and laughed as the beast now had a rather peculiar appearance. Flames licked out from half of a glass jaw, and it waved its head wildly she caught the end of the flames, nothing serious. Just a bad smell that hovered for a second as a few hairs burnt away. She was going to be fine, more than that she felt that they was going to win this.

Glancing over she saw the stallion she had named The Captan flinging sand at the beast. Of course, in many ways sand was more effective than water. Bolting closer to the beast Arah gave the fire inside the beast one last look, before she began to fog her vision with sand, aiming it towards the open side of the bears head. It went everywhere. She was bucking and rearing, half the way thought it she realised that she probably looked like she was having some kind of fit. She hoped some sand went inside the beast, while other bits of sand covered her head to hoof. Falling into the cuts made by the class shards, the sand stated to cause her pain. She did not cry out however she remained silent refusing to show any pain. In her head though should could only think one thing, "You're going down."

She paused in her sand attack and rushed off into the water, where she began to splash water at the beast. So now the beast should have sand in it and that sand was about to get wet. Double whammy buddy. Just like she did with the sand she began to fling her body around crazily, creating as many waves of pain for the bear as she could. "You're going down buddy." It stung even more as the water cleaned her injuries. She soldered on however, as Arah always did. Show no pain, fear or hope. That was the mask she wore on her face now.

Summarised Attack;; Flings sand at the open side of the bear's head, hoping to get in as much as possible. Then heads into the water and starts to fling water at the bear.

Defense;; Ran away from the huge amount of glass falling off the bear's head.

Injuries;; Second degree burns to all legs, below the ankles. A few cuts from the glass shards and now a few burns to the side of her body. Sand and water making her cuts sting more.

The GOD of the SUN

Burn the whole world down

Only three remained, the others knocked out by the beast's might. Fortunately for them, the creature was nearing the end of its life, and the next attacks would return him into the earth.

100hp - VERM :: The sand only lifted so far, going into the cracks along his legs and leg joints, but they did damage. With a groan, the creature's movement was stunted, and it hitched along, trying with the last of its existence to destroy one of the creatures below him with a swipe of a forepaw.

185hp - LYTHE :: The kick landed on the creature's jugular, cracking along its neck and making a spiral like a collar. A final blow of water to the neck caused the beast to close its glass eyes and lower its head that was beginning to snap, crack and sever from what was left of its decaying body.

110hp - ARAH :: With a great groan, the beast finally died, the remainder of the fire in its body doused by the water and sand from Arah's attacks.

With a great sigh, the beast burst into thousands of grains of sand and settled back into the beach, the only evidence of its presence was the multiple wounds on its victims.

The God of the Sun approached then and looked upon the three remaining before noticing that Vermillion was not Vermillion at all. He did not belong in this world. With a flash of anger and fireballs like arrows, the Sun God lashed out at the doppleganger. "You are not deserving of this prize, double!" he snarled. "Be gone!"

Once that situation was handled, the god turned to the remaining two. "While the creature died at Arah's hooves, Lythe delivered the fatal blow. I choose him to come with me and fulfill a quest, but do not think that I have forgotten you, Arah. You have my blessing." The god of the sun was impressed by the pair, and though he had a violent reputation, he was not cruel.

"I send with you Arah the spirit of the beast. May your heart beat with fire." Then, the sun god turned back to his victor. "Congratulations, Lythe," he said, using his magic to heal both Arah and Lythe of their wounds. "What is it that you desire from the sun?"

Lythe has won the quest drop with the highest number of hit points!

Arah has gained the temporary magic to have her blood be fire until June 1st!

I will post the rubric I used below for you guys to review. Basically, I counted any attack that used sand or earth physically as a "magic" attack simply for number of points.

Lythe
Chasing butterflies and broken dreams

A great shuddering sigh escaped Lythe as he descended from the top of the shattered glass mound and he almost collapsed from a lack of strength once he reached the sand. Muscles quivering with exhaustion and not a little shock, his purple optics gazed at the massive, broken beast whose flame had finally been extinguished. Right before his eyes the creature returned to the sand that had created it and left no trace of its exsistence, save for the various scrapes that scoured Ly's side. Looking at the other remaining two equines he allowed a small, tired smile to curl his lips before turning his full attention to the God of Sun who stood blazing with light a little way away from were they had fought.

As the god approached them, Ly bowed his head in respect with just a hint of fear in his eyes. While the gods were generally benevolent, it was always best to stay on their good side so as to not be on the receiving end of their wrath. His caution was well placed as the God of the Sun lashed out at the small hybrid stallion calling him a double and undeserving of the prize. Double? What could that possibly mean? The god's powerful voice rose from his chest once again and Lythe braced himself to be ready to receive the same treatment as the other stallion had. "While the creature died at Arah's hooves, Lythe delivered the fatal blow. I choose him to come with me and fulfill a quest, but do not think that I have forgotten you, Arah. You have my blessing." Surprise was evident in the tovero stallion's features as he processed the god's words. He... had done it?

Ly's mouth opened and closed as if he was about to say something, but had no idea what to say. Realizing that he was probably looking like a fool in front of a god, the stag straightened himself up though still held his head slightly lower than normal so as to not to seem pretentious. "I send with you Arah the spirit of the beast. May your heart beat with fire." Ly directed a small smile towards Arah and a nod of congratulations, not trusting himself to speak quite yet as he was still a bit numb. "Congratulations, Lythe," Hearing the god speak his name sent his large heart beating against his chest and as he turned his violet eyes to the epitome of light and fire a burning warmth filled his body and when he glanced at his side he saw his wounds fully healed and his coat completely free of the scars that would have occurred if not for the god's magic. "What is it that you desire from the sun?" Although he knew that when he joined the fighting against the demonic bear that this might happen he didn't know quite what to ask for. The God of the Sun was a violent, passionate being and considering the elements he controlled, not prone to patience.

Not wanting to test the god's patience Ly said the first thing that came to his mind. "If it's not too much trouble, Lord of the Sun, I would be grateful to have a simple companion so that I will no longer be alone." While others would have asked the lord of sun for great battle magic with which they could defeat their enemies, Lythe quite simply wanted a lifelong friend that would be forever by his side.

[ooc: So Ly just wants a normal bluebird companion with no special abilities. :DDD]
