The new day is upon us

Light was just starting to appear from behind the mountain. In the distance I could hear the crashing of a waterfall of some sort although it wasn't in view yet. Though the thin branches of the trees that crossed over each other above my head I could see the first glint of light glinting from the behind the clouds. I carry on through the trees. There branches held no leaves anymore, they were withering, dying until the new year.

In time I came to a small pool. Water was crashing from above into it and the noise of the impact was like the constant rushing of traffic. I stand away from the waterfall then slowly dip my head, dipping my muzzle in the cool water, drinking up the refreshing liquid. This place was nice, although dead. I was sure in the warmer seasons, when the leaves were fresh and the flowers grew wild, it was even nicer.

Lifting my head up slowly from the water, the water dripping of from my muzzle, I look round, my neck curving from side to side, ice blue eyes scanning through the withered trees. I sigh. I was board as anything. I would give anything just to talk to someone. Gently I paw at the ground, nickering slightly, deciding if I didn't want to be board, I was going to have to make the effort, I could only help my efforts weren't drowned out by the sound of the waterfall next to me.

"blah blah blah."

Locket stood next to one of the rare trees that inhabited the Foothills, resting one back hoof whilst accented lids fell over vibrant green eyes and quietly he listened to the singing birds. Scattered across the floor were the many colours of Orangemoon, leaves mingling with the lush grasses and all in all it was a beautiful scene. The vagabond rather liked mornings, if one got up early enough, there were many things to see amongst the peaceful dewy eyed sunlight. However, his moment of peace was cut short as an intruder's scent entered through alabaster nostrils and he laid his ears back in annoyance at someone daring to step foot in his beloved Foothills without first asking for permission. Quick as his lithe body would carry him, Locket set off on sooty legs with curly mane playing in the wind, tail held high like a proud banner with his gaze set in determination.

After a good half an hour, the warrior traced the scent of the stranger all the way to the heart of the Foothills, where the waterfall raged into a shallow pool. It was noisy and he decided to approach her from down wind. She was an interesting shade of blue, a unicorn like himself, with hair like silk that fell in cascades along her neck. A pretty thing yes, but Locket couldn't allow himself to appreciate the view and become complacent. This was his home and this belle was trespassing on it. He came closer, noting the droplets of water that formed around her maw, indicated she had stopped for something to drink. Bringing his speedy pace to a halt a few paces away from her side, Locket snorts through his nose as a way to announce his presence, ears flickering in obvious confusion as to why she was present.

"State your purpose, stranger, and it better be a good one. It is rude to cross another's border without first asking permission." His strange accented voice was level and low, he meant what he said and he stood like an immovable boulder. This was as far as she got without a valid reason for her presence. Rarely had he seen strangers cross the border, but he knew to be ready for when they did.

And I took you by the hand
And we stood tall,
And remembered our own land,
What we lived for.

The new day is upon us

I sigh gently, listening to the rush of water by the side of me. I was almost day dreaming under the trees, the first ray of the sun warming up my back slightly when I hear the noise of someone else coming along. I turn to look in the direction it was coming from and soon enough I am greeted with a stallion whos face resembled that of a panda. My ears switch forward, stretching in fact to greet him.

It wasn't really the welcome I was expecting. "State your purpose, stranger, and it better be a good one. It is rude to cross another's border without first asking permission." I shake my head, lowering it slightly. Yes, maybe I should of thought about that, but I was lost in my own thoughts and so hadn't noticed that I had wandered in so far to a land I may not have been entirely welcome to. "I am sorry for intruding, you are right, I should have asked before treading upon your lands but forgive me, I come in no harm." I offer him a kind smile.

Sighing slightly my icy blue eyes are warm and gentle. I had no wish to fight, nor argue, just to meet and greet, maybe make a few new friends. I suppose I couldn't blame him for being annoyed at me just wandering into his lands. "I am Sinuhe by the way." Although we may have got of on the wrong foot, it did not make me hold a grudge against him because, like I said, before, who could blame him?

"blah blah blah."

I wasn’t quite sure where exactly I was. Or even how I had gotten here, last thing I could remember was standing there while my older brother spoke to the Earth God as my wings crackled and glowed with the orangey stuff that seemed to entertain so many people. Maybe entertain was the wrong word there, they seemed more in awe of what my body could do and I just couldn’t explain or understand why it was they found it all so entertaining. With a flick of my tiny, foal-like harks I released a sigh that had built up in my lungs everyone seemed so at ease here in whatever place it was they had stuck me.
All of the brothers were here as well, it was strange to see us all so close once again but it also comforted me and made me feel safer than if it were just Evers. Everyone that I had ran across in this land seemed to carry the same scent about them, making me believe that we all belonged in some way it was slightly comforting to know that I wasn’t alone. A faint image of a black feline flicked through my mind, but I wasn’t quite sure who it was or why the strange creature flicked through my mind on occasion. It’s image grew fuzzier and fuzzier with each thought of it, sighing I flicked my ebony tipped harks back against my terra cotta crown. Everything was just so odd and I could only understand but so much of it.
Lashing my brush-like tail as harshly as I could, before kicking up my slightly feathered heels and racing off into the grasses that blanketed the land. I wasn’t sure where my spindely foal legs were carrying me but I had a feeling that as long as the smell of the equine who lived in this area was tickling at my nares that I would be just fine. Before I knew it the vocals of two different equine made their way through the light breeze of Orangemoon and to my now forward pricked harks. ”… It is rude to cross another's border without first asking permission." Coming to a halt my hind limbs slid clumsily up to where my forelegs should have been, sending me in a tumble closer to the two equine speaking and I was unable to quite make out what the more feminine chime was saying.
As my cheeks flushed with the embarrassment from making a fool of myself in front of all of the grown-ups I could feel the crackling from the ebony feathers that sprouted from my shoulders. I knew what this meant, soon I would start glowing again and all of the attention would be focused on me, lowering my infant crown I uttered a few simple words. ”I..I’m sorry for interrupting Sir, Ma’am.” As the lyrics left my smoky velvets I could feel the crackling lessen slightly, still noticeable but not quite as dangerously loud and bright as it had been before…maybe I would be lucky and the adults hadn’t noticed my glow at all.

She seemed surprised, like she was expecting another type of greeting, yet really, he hoped that where this mare came from they didn't let anyone just wander in. Surely they did not. Locket wasn't fond of acting with hostility and had he met her somewhere out in the wilds she might of found herself greeted by an altogether warmer welcome. The warrior continued to stand his ground, curving alabaster ears forward to catch her excuses and a name. Sinuhe. An odd name for an off kinda girl and he snorted in response, narrowing his eyes to her form. "And how do I know you come in peace? I cannot trust a stranger no matter how kindly you smile. If you have no business here then maybe I can escort you to the nearest exit? I am sure, in your own home, they do not let strangers just wander around?" His voice altered from iron clad to incredulous. Maybe apart of him did believe she meant no harm, but he was duty bound to protect the border and he was struggling to understand her presence at all.

He took one step forward then and shook his head with a sigh, "I hope you do not walk into the other lands as such. You could get yourself seriously injured or even killed by doing that." His voice had taken on a softer note then though he was by no means meeting her on a level that was of friends. A scent penetrated his stiff guard then and Locket swung his head to meet the youthful gaze of a brown pegasus, just a foal. However, the crackles and flickering glow caught the warrior's attention and quite quickly he took two hurried steps towards the youth with panicked green eyes wide with alarm. "Your wings-" He stopped mid outcry as he noticed for the first time that this strange glow was not hurting him. Or, it didn't look to be hurting him anyway.

Quite dramatically, Locket threw his head backwards in a show of exasperation and began to laught shakily. "Gods what have I got myself into, I only went out for an early morning stroll." He sighed and looked between the mare and the child before his gaze rested on the bay foal for a moment. "Stay near to me small one, I would not want anything to happen to one so young of our herd." Speaking in a swift, quiet concern as finally his gaze laid to rest upon Sinuhe, it was hard and uncertain. If this mare did turn out to be a threat, he now had to protect the child too.

Maybe today was going to be one of those days.

And I took you by the hand
And we stood tall,
And remembered our own land,
What we lived for.

He asked to many questions. How was I meant to prove that I came in peace? In fact, I shouldn't have to prove it at all. I am a honest girl, I don't lie (well, I don't lie a lot anyway) and I don't purposely go out of my way to cause trouble in lands I don't belong in, not unless I had a reason to. I sigh slightly again before briefly speaking. "There is no way I can really prove I come in peace, I only came to meet others." I hope you do not walk into the other lands as such. You could get yourself seriously injured or even killed by doing that. My reply came quickly, with a shake of my smoky head. I knew that it was rude to trespass but I didn't really see it as that, not until now anyway."I havn't had the chance. I was attracted to this land for some reason, and rightly so, it is rather beautiful."

The drifting scent of a colt wandered past. I turn my head, curious as to who it might be and my eyes were struck with a bay colt with wings that crackled. If I hadn't been taught so well to hide my feelings there might of been a unmistakable look of horror my my face but instead it settled as a curious, wondering and very mildly shocked look. The lad seemed in no pain though and so I relaxed a bit more, however the grown stallion did not.

A frail laughter rolled of the tongue of the bay. Personally I didn't see how his stroll had been ruined but maybe he was tired or something, or didn't feel much like talking so, with a gentle tone I say. "I have told you I come in no harm. If you wish, continue your stroll, I will stay with the lad." I now turn to the lad himself, a kind grin slapped on my maw. "You are not interrupting anything young one." I say, chuckling a little at his innocence in walking in on us. "And, what is your name? I am not sure if you heard but mine is Sinuhe."

"blah blah blah."

   RAFE</style>
The coldest blood runs through my veins</style>

The uncertain smell called him to the area where locked was already caught in words with an interloper. A white and blue disease. A insolent, rude witch with no manners and a personality like poison. The ignorance that rolled from her tongue and demeanor was astounding, greater even that the foals who had not been taught. Was she raised in a herd with no consequences? Did mommy and daddy wait at her muzzle and hoof? Pathetic.

Rafe approached with bold steps, death a bitter promise in the way his muscles slid beneath crimson hide. He towered over the pair, four horns weapon-spires that gleaned with ebony spirals. The two toned tail, low set on sloping hips did not stir behind him and his cold, emotionless gaze never wavered from the entitled bitch.

The time of day was irrelevant. Her opinion of their land was irrelevant. He did not notice the landscape nor comment on its aesthetics. He did not pay attention to the crisp breeze that promised winter biting at his hide. No, he was a predator staring at prey, and he would not be denied blood on this day. Well, not unless reason decided to suddenly capture her dim mind.

"This is not your land. You are not welcome here. Leave," he rumbled, his voice smooth like vodka and deep. "Your name is of no consequence. Your purpose is meaningless. In every way you have broken the laws of the herds by spitting upon the borders we erect to protect ourselves from insolence, like you. So I do not give a damn if you were attracted to a pretty flower or waterfall, mare. You will leave. You will go to the borders. You will obey the law. Or Locket and I will summon every force in this herd of mercenaries to tail you until the light at the end of your life fades and the only heaven that will take you is rimmed in fire."

There a such things like Casimir didn't like, and one thing was that when his family, more his own than his herd family, were in danger. There was an intruder, and though some had come to form past these couple of weeks, he had not been much inclined to do anything about it, considering he couldn't see them most of the time and he felt he couldn't protect the boarders as well as the others. However, this was a completely different situation. His own brother was being threatened, and it had come time for him to do something about it.

He galloped on the scene, in a fit of silent anger. His face was pulled back from it's happy smile to form a sort of a grimace. Rather he was threatening or not, he didn't know. There were two others unicorns, both whom he didn't recognize, but he could hear the conversation between them to know that they would protect both the boarder and Darwin. However, he wanted to protect Darwin, and possibly get him out of here, and that was all he cared about for the moment. He shouted to Darwin, his voice stern and full of anger.

"Darwin! To me, now. You should not be here by yourself. And you, having been told twice to leave, I should not have to tell you a third time. You are playing a dangerous game, and I will not have you come here and harm my blood brother, other any of my other family. My brothers are murderers, and they would happily skin you alive and tear your wings off without a second thought."

He was starting to shake, and he spoke again to Darwin, whom would hopefully come and follow him away from the boarder.

"What the hell do you think you're doing? You're lucky your father isn't here and Mother is dead. She might have blinded you like she blinded me. Now, come, we are going to leave this place."

OCC: Angry Casimir is angry...Darwin does have a choice to follow him or not, but of course, Casimir will go after him and will be even more angry...

Sorry to hold you guys up! I'm having issues trying to figure out how to reply to this aha. Lets just say he went to his brother and then wandered off to play with the other children.

Why was everyone so rude here? If I had came in harm, I would have came strolling in in a more purpose filled way with a cocky smile smacked onto my face and that hint of cunningness is my eyes. But no, I cam with none of that. I had strolled in unknowingly, a friendly smile curled up gently on my maw and that spark of pure friendliness in my eyes. I had spoken politely and well, sincerely apologizing for my rudness to them all and they still couldn't see past that?

The rumbling voice of a stallion reached my ears and for the first time in being here my ears flick back and I stamp a hoof, eyes turning into an angered glare at him. "If you think your threats scare me then you sir, are very, very stupid. Oh, and if you think a few prancy stallions of your herd could chuck me of then you are so wrong boy." And with a pretty toss of my head I add, "I am not just a girl you see, I have my heritage and I follow in the line of kings and queens of a great kingdom. What's more we were trained to fight for what we wanted and I was the greatest."

Another turned up at this point but I continue my mini speech. "So if you sir think you could end my life then you would only be spurring me on to take what I want. Luckily for you I wouldn't want to waste my skills upon, nor your little friend Locket over there." Then, my glare turn to the new guy with the ram horns who had turned up, his brutal voice directed at the young boy. My teeth scrape against each other, hating the way he went on at the boy, demanding, directing, screaming in his little face. With a step forward I boldly face up to the stallion as the colt scampered to his side, not uttering a word. My words were this time fueled by silent anger, cold and sharp."And you should learn to keep your temper. If I was him I would've left you by now but he probably scar him so much he obeys without fault."

After saying what I thought I need to say I take a few steps backwards, looking across all of them with a grim look on my face. "Well, it has been nice meeting you guys. I really hope we can do it again." Shooting a cheeky wink at the foal I leave with that, vowing that if I ever saw any of them again that I would pummel their head in the ground.
