Salty air hit her nostrils as the tall black mare shut her eyes, lifting up her head and just enjoying the small breeze ruffling her mane. The weather was getting colder and colder, and Orinthia felt the need to withdraw to the South, away from the snow and torrents of rain. Opening her eyes, she saw it was a clear day, with a crystal blue sky, and white, wispy clouds lingering high in the atmosphere. The day had a happy aura to it, and the mare felt like rejoicing all day. Breaking out of her standing position, she galloped towards the water stopping slightly before stepping slowly into it. Quite cold in fact, but she didn't mind, whinnying in glee.
The rhythmic sound of the waves crashing among the shore calmed her intensely, and for a second she stopped jumping around like a child and observed the scenery. The sandy beach she was standing on stretched for miles east and west, and the azure sea seemed to stretch on forever. I wonder how many miles that would be to cross it her inquisitive mind thought. How wonderful it would be to meet another on these beaches. Hopefully a wanderer in the distance heard the outcast's call. Slowly stepping out of the sea, receding a few steps, she decided to go for a walk. Orinthia inhaled few whiffs of past fires, and wolves. The very scent of those animals scent chills through her body, but she ignored it. Best keep going. So the mare did so, walking, looking for anyone on the beach.
