Powdery flakes of clean, crisp snow drifted down from the bleak grey heavens, sifting through the naked, gnarled arms of a stripped, frozen forest. The air even throughout its skirt was bitterly cold; animals had slunk to cower beneath the ground, and flocking birds had long since migrated to warmer shores. All that remained were the plump owls, defying Frostfall’s wicked breathe in tree hollows, and the wandering horses who called Helovia home. For them there was no escaping the harshest, most unforgiving season.

A lone figure could be seen, passing with sharp, agitated strides between the woody remains of hibernating trees. Her carriage was confident and graceful, though on second glance, it was obvious that her attitude did not reflect the same air of assurance. She was lost- having gone to bed early the night prior in one place, and waking this morning to find herself elsewhere. It was with a terse snort and a bemused shake of her head that she moved from her resting place, far within the depths of the lonely forest.

The mare was agitated, gruff and impatient and her pale glare grazed the clutter of trees surrounding with not so much as an irritated sigh. “For goodness sake...” She exclaimed aloud, her voice rising amid plumes of steamy breath. “Why am I here.” On she walked, determined despite being utterly baffled. She would not surrender though, weakness was not in her blood- she would find some fool and have them explain the meaning behind her mysterious arrival here... It was a joke surely- trickery and magic was hardly an uncommon thing.
