Cause peace of mind is the only time that we’re free...

'One hoof in front of another, don't stop moving, you have to find him'. Her mind was working furiously, as the black and white mare plunged through the darkness. She had just awakened from a deep slumber, to find herself still in the night times presence. The world was still darker than night, which to Andreas was confusing. The world should be brighting, the morning sun should have showed itself, only crushing darkness remained however. Find Apollo. She had lost so much time trying to find her baby brother, she didn't mind the time however, as long as she found him in the long run. The panic still settled in her chest, her baby brother was afraid of the dark. Unless that had changed and he had somehow developed past his horror of blackness, Andreas needed to find him more than ever now. She would be his light through the blackness, guide him, comfort him and soothe from the fear that ran through his mind. She had sworn to find him and she knew, soon she would be able to complete her promise.

The freezing weather did not stop her, hooves pounded into the snow, eyes barely adjusted to the black night. Every now and then the running mare would stumble on small unseen objects hidden under the snow. It did not stop or slow her down though. Every now and then you got a feeling. Andreas could not describe it in any other way. She had a feeling that today..night which ever, was going to be different. Today she was going to find the thing that would complete her. Her blood, her flesh, her brother. Her breath was harsh, short and quick, Andreas stamina was impressive however. Years of solid running for days on end had built her into a machine.

What had her brother been up too during her absence from his life? She would beat him black and raw if he had given up in life. She did not want him to let his past haunt him, Apollo was an unsure soul. Not weak, just hesitant about life. She had no make sure he was doing okay, surveying his weakness. She would not let his past plague him any more, if he had succumbed to his own blackness she would draw him out. Make him fight and be a stronger soul because of it.

"Where is the sun?" She muttered to herself only, annoyance flaring up inside her chest. She wanted to be able to see the land that she had entered. It was a forest, that much was clear, the rest confused her though. She had no idea where she was, who ruled this land, of what the current war status was of those around her. Sincerly hoping she hadn't entered a no man's land, Andreas pressed on. She knew that someone would find her soon, you did not enter a new land without meeting new people. Maybe it would even be her brother that happened across her now, able to explain why the sun had not risen. Find Apollo the thought ran through her mind again as she slowed to a stop. She looked around hoping to find a sense of direction or an indication of which path she should take.

A STORY FOREVER TOLD, BUT NEVER OLD.
A WARM ARRIVAL NEVER LEFT SO COLD.

Her magic was gone. Gone. Without it, Phae felt naked - and not the good sort of naked-feeling, either. This feeling was like a... a void. Her ability to slip silently through the trees without rustling so much as a twig - gone. The burning pink-hot flame within her belly - gone. Even the trail of star dust and shimmer that accompanied her, after her brief (but exquisite) encounter with the small bear-cat from the stars - gone. Only her bond with Stella remained, and for that, she was eternally grateful. High above, Stella's avian gaze searched below, sending images in flashes. The pair were nearly about to turn around, when Stella's images sparked recognition in the spy's mind. Apollo?!

Indeed, it seemed that the painted stallion was wandering about the Threshold...but why? Although fear gripped her flighty mind, she thought back to their near death experience on the beach, and the few innocent, but sweet kisses that they had shared. Nibbling on her lip, she mentally advised Stella to bring her to the painted stallion, so that she could bring him home.

Trotting forward as quickly as she dared, the sooty spy's sea-green gaze was wide, as she tried to grab hold of any and all light possible. She could feel twigs branches pulling on her wavey mane, as she forced her way through the forest, and towards her Grey-brother. A female voice, made her pull up short, nostrils flaring, and ears pinned back. Wrong one! She mentally sent to Stella, fearing that her bonded had led her to another unicorn wandering the Threshold. I don't have time! We need to go home! With a trill from high above, Stella reiterated the images, urging Phaedra forward. With a grown, the palomino slowed her pace, gaze vaguely narrowed as Andreas came into view. Her breath caught in her chest as she realized the misunderstanding - this was surely the source of the female voice, and yet it - she - looked so much like Apollo.

"Where ever it went sugar, we aren't going to find it wandering out here." Although she felt nervous, and on edge due to the sudden disappearance of her magic, and the blackened sky, her tone was still flirtatious and playful. From the sky, Stella dropped down, rustling some leaves on her way, to land comfortably on Phaedra's withered. Her bright orangey-yellow face peered at the Unicorn mare, a decidedly I-told-you-so smirk upon her avian face.

The sounds of others approaching had been lost to the frantic mare's thoughts. Lost in a dark forest, unfamiliar sounds and smell, everything was happening far too quickly. Having not moved for the past five minutes, Andreas was not surprised that someone got the drop on her. The flirtatious voice called out to her through the night making a joke. The black mare spun and settled her sights on a winged mare. Help had arrived. The warm brown gaze flickered above as the leaves rustled and a beautiful bird landed on the other mare's back. This stunning creature seemed so calm with the other female, Andreas was fascinated to learn how the bird had grown so comfortable in a horses presence. "Huh." Was all that tumbled out of the shadow mare's mouth. She was acting like such an idiot, standing frozen shocked at being creeped up on and then the bird landing on the winged mare's back, like this happened everyday.

"I mean…" Clearing her throat Andreas took a moment to gather herself. "Yes, you must be right." Offering a kind smile Andreas moved forward slowly, closing the gap between them. Her movements where smooth and graceful, not betraying her exhaustion. Maybe this mare would be able to point her in the right direction. The direction of her baby brother. But how did one go about the topic of 'I've been stalking my baby brother for months and I can't find him can you help me?' Even in her head then entire sentence sounded ridiculous. Orbs found the ground again, shame now danced in the window to her soul. Knowing that a more tactical approach would be received better by the other party, Andreas cleared her throat and tried again.

Pawing the ground, conveying her own nerves, the black mare spoke up again. "There is something else that I'm searching for though." Confidence clearly grew with each word. Her pawing stopped and the warm eyes flicked back up from the ground in an attempt to catch the other mare's gaze. "Something that is much more important...to me." Smoothly, Andreas began to approach her current problem. A missing brother was not a cheery subject, to Andreas however it was one that desperately needed to be addressed. "My brother has been missing for sometime. I need to find him." There. Straight to the point and concise. As a straight forward mare, Andreas hoped that this other mare did not play games. Distrusting twisted words that came from blackened tongues, the older mare would judge the younger one on her responses. Oh how she needed to embrace her brother, see with her own eyes that he was doing alright. "His name is..." Her teeth clamped down on her tongue.

Oh how it hurt to speak his name after all this time! Did her brother even remember her? Would she be welcomed into his home with open hearts? Worry surged through the darker mare, her orbs narrowed at the winged mare. She wondered what kind of help, if any this mare would be. "His name is..." Once again her voice stopped, broken and cold. She could hear her own pain in the words that left her chops. A mirror, dropped that shattered into a million pieces. The hole in her heart, the pain she had carried around with her from the day Apollo left. Apollo.

One word that meant so much to her. The one thing that had kept her going for months. Her family, blood, bones and flesh.

"Apollo."

Phae's sea-green gaze peered at the stranger, as she slowly worked her way into divulging whatever it was she was trying to say. Internally, Phae was rolling her eyes, and wondering what she had stumbled upon. There was a reason that the sooty spy rarely ventured into the Threshold. She was not the type of mare who liked making friends or helping others with their problems. In fact, it would be fine with her if the Grey's numbers did not swell in size at all - They were a family, of course. But why did they have to be the type of family to pick up miscreants off the street? Apparently she had missed the memo which said the Grey was open to anyone.

Flicking her creamy tail, her flirtatious gaze continued to fall upon the stranger, taking in her broken and round-about-to-the-point speech until...

His name is...Apollo.

Apollo. Images of the painted stallion were immediately brought to her mind - so forcefully in fact that even Stella trilled out, sensing her bonded's overwhelming explosion of emotion. Apollo... The stallion who had tried to follow her on a reckless drug-induced night of mistakes, who had dared to take a romantic stroll with her on the beach and face his fear of the water, only to be taken hostage by a monstrous octopus-thing, while being simultaneously attacked by wolves. He, who she had shared such a sweet and innocent kiss with, all those long seasons ago...She felt a warming in her chest at the fond memories, though her distant gaze conferred none of this, to his apparent sister. At least she still had that ability.

Phae felt an instant mistrust towards this painted mare, claiming to be Apollo's sister. Perhaps it was jealousy, or simple possessiveness, but the golden-spy was not yet ready to divulge what she knew. Even so...you know the old saying about keeping your friends close, but your enemies closer ...

"Honey, the lights have gone out. We won't find him until we know where to look, or until we can see. Until then..." Her skeptical yet still flirtatious gaze washed over the painted girl slowly, as if trying to finalize her decision."Until then, why don't you come along back to the Foothills. The Grey, a band of mercenaries live there. Perhaps we'll see what we can do about this missing brother of yours."
